This video was very fun to watch. I am married to a builder and I don’t think people realize the rush you get from projects like these. My husband’s eyes light up whenever his company has a remodel! The pride he has when it’s done! Awesome job guys 👍🏻🙌🏻😊

Phenomenal. I wish I had known about restorations years ago before my grandfather's cabin he built by hand in the 1890's deteriorated at the point of no return. It was much smaller and slept 11. Two small bedrooms, a kitchen and my uncle, the only boy, slept in the barn. Memories have flooded back on that little homestead in Saskatchewan. That's where my pioneer spirit has come from. Thank you. Grandpa Werbowesky, miss you.

Poxa, Debbiekeay, que pena que a cabana de seu avô não pode ser restaurada. É uma pena mesmo. Mas construa uma cabana e dedique à memória de seu querido avô. Aqui do Brasil, torcendo por vc!

It would be wonderful if you had a compilation of videos showing everything you did in real time, that's what a lot of us do on RUclips. We find these beautiful renovations and watch the process happen and just binge watch videos, sometimes the fun is in watching the everyday creativity humor, struggles and the hard work makes the final reveal so much more exciting I want to watch this video but I would love to see all the videos that you took in real time, that would be a wonderful treat. I actually didn't even watch the reveal of the finished product because I'm hoping that you will put a compilation of videos of this little secret house so that I can see the finished product as it emerges.❤

I'm still in the dark about planting grass on a roof light. To each his own but a steel entrance 'gate waterfall' goes in before getting an insulated floor and plumbing inside? I'm confused. The house now screams "I'm not hidden anymore". What's with LED lights in the middle of the forest? I'm going to stop there; I'm shaking my head.

This was an amazing transformation. I can understand the point of view of some who liked the old cabin but it wasn't particularly pretty or historically significant. It has become a beautiful, energy efficient home. Without context, it is hard to fathom why put in the glass panels to then, mostly, cover them with grass. All that hard work with only hand power tools is admirable. It must have cost a fortune. The music was uplifting. ❤

In my estimation, those that can, save the heart and restructure a building that will live for another decade or 2 or 3 or …. This cabin could just as easily decayed to the point of complete destruction. But it did not. It will at its heart, live on for decades to come.

Reading many comments out of curiosity. 1. Sad so many can’t appreciate ‘art’. 2. Beauty is subjective .
Not your cup of tea, quite sure your name is not on the title or mortgage papers. 3. “Thumper, what did your father tell you this morning? ….. If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all “
The craftsmanship and creativity of this project, beautiful, and saved the storied footprint of a wooden structure that may well have collapsed.

It's not about the art. I think many people are perplexed that a derelict building losses it's charming character entirely and is basically replaced by this very creative building. They could have built the building from scratch instead of the many repairs and updates that will have to be document in the ground book. The building is a wonder, but people are shaking their heads. Had the original building been saved, I think people would have been more appreciative.

@@fredrika27 I agree with some of what you have said. Around the world there are so many curiosities when it comes to bylaws, building codes, taxation, and allowances. Taking an existing buildings foot print and building off that may well be a requirement in order to not change any land tax. Or, it may very simply be to embrace what they could, not have it all go into landfill, and express true creativity. The expressions of architectural challenges and ventures I find fascinating. Thank you

@@brendaswann7292 Thank you for answering me. I never thought about laws and taxes. As for the landfill, here in Germany we have companies that will come and take apart a house and salvage all reusable materials such as roof tiles, beams, bricks and stones while recycling wiring, wood aluminum, and steam.
Your points are good particularly when you state it's another way around the law.
When it comes to the foundation of the house that most likely must be repoured, that too must fall into state and prefecture guidelines. How the foundation was traditionally fixed would not be accepted as up to code in many countries, but in this video it would.
That said, you make good points regarding how a project must be carried out. Points that many on here haven't thought about including myself!

You totally sound like a woke moron because you say things like: Art is subjective, and art can mean anything to anyone. These nonsense ideas are allways propagaded by the Marxist quasi intellectuals. Real art conveys a message that is clear for all to see otherwise it is not art. Then it is just overpriced crap.

If a cabin in a remote wooded area has had a rain curtain with LED lights and a laser-cut metal wall added, it has a new soul entirely. Its just a super modern reincarnation :)
