- The gunman who killed 14 students and three staff members at a Parkland, Florida, high school pleaded guilty for their murders on Wednesday, bringing some closure to a South Florida community three years after the attack that sparked a nationwide movement for gun control.
Last week, Nikolas Cruz's attorney, David Wheeler, told Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer that he will plead guilty to 17 counts of first-degree murder in the February 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The plea will not come with conditions, meaning prosecutors can still seek the death penalty.

Felt worthless and insignificant. Being so young, school is the only real thing he has connectivity, and grievance with. So he blames that for his life. Hitting out at his own school, is a combination of revenge, and he's finally recognised. Everyone knows he exists now.
Thank goodness it is hard for us to understand. Given the obvious variety of emotional, mental and learning deficits of Nikolas, factoring in genetics and with all due respect, I don't feel Linda Cruz was well equipped nor did she follow through on the obvious treatments he required to perhaps have derailed this entire travesty. Nikolas chose to act on impulses that may have otherwise been managed medically. Perhaps he needed to live in a structured living community. He was defiant, obsessive, hostile, inappropriate, vulgar, impulse disorders and an entire host of other deficits. So here is the conundrum. He was failed, by his parents, his medical team, the school system. Outwardly, it appeared he was seeking help but there was no follow through. I'm sorry but when money is placed ahead of obvious need, with all that we waste in this Country, we should be ashamed and disgusted by this. We are no longer the leader on the world stage where an individual is so grotesquely failed with no real intervention. Not one resource was followed through. So, for this reason, and this reason alone, he should not be put to death. May all the victims RIP. A deep apology is owed to each victim and their survivors for the failure of this society to protect them. This failure demands a close scrutiny of multiple disciplines - medical/mental health, parental, educational, law enforcement, government.
Watching his police interrogation, it's as clear as day that this guy enjoyed and has pride for what he did. This guy only feels sad for being caught.

Joni Celeste...It's not taking his side. It is following the law. Some people believe any form of murder is immoral. It is examining mitigating circumstances as required by the law. Isn't it possible, if he was properly medicated, had intensive therapy, was hospitalized, properly evaluated, this horrific crime may have been interrupted? He may never have been rehabilitated but without proper treatment and evaluation, he nor his victims had a society that truly was protecting all persons from fatal outcomes.

As they explained the events of that horrible day, u can see him reliving every moment in his mind... he has no remorse. My heart breaks for all the lives lost & the families now changed forever. I couldn't possibly imagine... may God help ease this time for all of them.
You may notice his lawyers never touch him...almost all defense lawyers occasionally give a hug or a reasuring touch...this shows they are also disgusted with him.

During his guilty plea for assaulting a police officer/guard he ask his lawyer for his glasses when asked to verify the plea documents. Here he removed his glass to look at the papers. Weird.

Lastly, every bullet shot represented a CHOICE he made. He CHOSE well over a HUNDRED times to SHOOT TO KILL. Again…do you really believe this is anything less than 17 counts of FIRST degree murder, and 17 counts of FIRST degree attempted murder??

Scot Peterson (MSD School Resource Officer) could've stopped him. He was a coward that waited for many minutes for help to arrive instead of going into the 1200 building and dealing with him.
Andrew Medina (Campus monitor) saw our guy but failed to call a code red. Resulting in more victims.
Jan Jordan(Broward County captain) decided to form a perimeter around Marjory Stoneman Douglas rather than going in and confronting the shooter.

Cruz is an odd case for that alone, pointing to that fact that in his head he knew that making enough noise would make him famous, or infamous... Albeit he most certainly regrets it and knows he didn't really consider the implications of what he would carry out that day.

He said follow the laws of the land... Cruz did not.... He also violated God's commandment thou shalt not kill... Even if God forgives him and takes him to heaven, he still has to go through his earthly judgement while he's here on earth.. it is what it is.. he made that choice.. he brought judgement unto himself.

Kid would have been dead if his clip was in and ready to go..
Christopher McKenna did EXACTLY what he should have done. The gunman told him to leave. McKenna (a fifteen year old boy), did just that and went to find an adult to deal with him.

The US needs to change its gun laws. This is outrageous and apalling.. Children going to school, fearing they'll be shot, taught how to defend themselves from shooters in schools??!!?? What this Murderer did is incomprehensible. I am not to judge, only God is to judge this man, this boy when he meets our maker. I can’t imagine the pain of all of these parents and their relatives and friends. I can’t even fathom the thought of somebody doing such a horrific thing to innocent people. Nevertheless, I can’t help but think of when his biological mother was carrying him and was on cocaine, heroin, and every drug you can imagine. Most women when they are pregnant, will not even drink any alcohol as it can be lethal to the development of the child and the child’s brain. While this person should be in jail as he is a danger to society, I truly believe he needs mental health therapy. His eyes are cold and calculated…….. May God give all of these people the strength to move on. I have never been a mother but I can only fathom and imagine how horrific and painful this must be. As I said I will not be the judge of this Murderer, but only God himself can judge this person as he passes away and either goes to Heaven or The dark and very hot place called hell. They say God forgives all, as we are all his children. however, I don’t know. Rest in peace little angels. And I pray to God that he gives strength and endurance to the families of these innocent victims. In one year a few years ago within seven months, I lost my father, my mother, my only sibling a sister and her two daughters. Even though they were not murdered, every day is a struggle. I miss them so much and I know I will never see them here on earth. Nevertheless, I hope to see them in heaven. God bless all you!

They gotta cover all their bases over and over because they don’t want him to turn around and claim that his rights were somehow violated/he didn’t understand the implications of pleading guilty/he was coerced/or whatever. Chris Watts hinted at filing a document claiming that his constitutional rights were somehow violated at his trial, that’s why judges have to be so thorough!
Not only that but he can turn around and try and say “well they never laid out such and such of my charges, so I never heard or agreed to anything” and try for a mistrial or anything. It’s ammo for him, she’s covering her basis from a legal standpoint

All of this..On the day this school was scheduled and staged a mock "SHOOTING EVENT"on campus..What about the other shooters the teacher on a local news interview said she saw a soldier wearing all BLACK military regalia head to toe ? . and what about the shots fired as Cruz walked out casually with a friend who heard shots at that time? Many students heard multiple shooters. And then the 4 cops in the back of the pickup caught on camera dropping off large duffle bags behind the school just before shooting on local news report, now scrubbed from the internet.. What about finding Cruz TOTALLY passed out in a park on drugs.
