Don't know if anyone caught this or not, but when the father said that nobody loves the shooter, he broke that blank stare off of the shooter's face. The shooter's eyes widened when the father said all the love goes to the father's son (and all the other victims), and not the shooter.

He should’ve dug deeper into that. Shooters don’t care when they’re being called monsters or evil…in fact they like it. Go at his lack of friends, lack of love, the fact he’s a loser and a loner. Go at the fact weakness caused him to mess up, not strength. The fact that they’d all kill him if he didn’t have a weapon. Go at what causes him to commit the crimes in the first place. He wants to feel like the boss, so make him feel like the dork that he is.

Joaquins mom wrote a book called “joaquins first school shooting”, it is a powerful, powerful, book. The parents of joaquins have done a lot of great charity work in honor of their son.

Spoken like a boss. The toughest line you can ever deliver to a convicted murderer who you know will get the death sentence. And he said it calmly with a cool tone and showing absolutely no anger or other emotional outburts. For a father who is speaking face to face to the guy who killed his son this was absolutely incredible!

This man was the essence of how being calm and collected is so much scarier and imposing than any kind of anger or rage could ever be. His clear enunciation. His calm cadence. And while you could obviously tell it wasn't easy for him and that emotions were strong, the controlled release of pent-up feelings that never escaped his control is exactly why that monster needs to be glad he's got bars to hide behind.

Im a father and I could never face the shooter without feeling the urgent unrepressed need to jump over the table and reach for the shooter’s throat and with my bare hands feel the life being sucked out of him under my grip. I don’t think I could be as strong as this father. All my respect to him .

Nicolas Cruz was a product of our broken system...he is to blame but our system is also to blame bc Nicolas Cruz deserved to be protected while still an innocent child who had no control over the neglect he suffered...which in turn resulted in this horrific act with loss of so many innocent life's that will effect families for generations ahead...

He had tour all over country telling his son story in the news, in theater, in conferences, so he has had some practice. He is currently advocating for gun control laws. He had met with both presidents and everything. He is very inspiring. He and his wife are very good friends of my family.

Joaquin must have been an incredible human being. From listening to Victoria, seeing the light and love in his mother and sister’s eyes, and listening to his powerhouse of a father. He lives on through each and every one of them, it’s because of Joaquin, who he was, and his love, that they are who they are today. As Victoria said “Joaquin is love.”

And the last statement he made, "now it's time for you to be afraid of me". Epic. The families and attorneys chose right by letting him finish off the speaking portion for the families. As though his presence alone made them feel stronger and more secure. From what Joaquin's girlfriend said about him, he was like his father in that way. The positive effect he had on other people.
