As far as her "resignation," attorneys make less money sitting on the bench as a judge than in private practice. Those defense lawyers are lucky that non of the family members jumped towards the defense lawyers like they usually do at the plaintiff's or Judges. How could you be laughing with your killer. I know, I know. Innocent until proven but when you act like that. Families will act upon their feelings. Flipping off the judge, really? This should be highly noted in their future cases. What is our courts coming to? Anyways, judge is hot 🔥 and I'm glad she acted her age and professional self.
The only other judge I've seen with the most greatest speech was that one with the plaintiff what acted as his own lawyer and tried to get every witness to get mad so he could try to throw the case out. Now that case was the craziest. Tried everything to be the most ignorant self representation 🙃 ever. The dude that ran over people in the parade all cuz he got in a argument with his gf. Even killed a kid I think 🤔. Now that judge spoke nothing but TRUTH ABOUT OUR COURT SYSTEM AND MURICA in the process!!

The defense tried to raise the issue of their families being brought up, this judge brushed it off, and then the *second* they asked her how she would feel if it was her family being referenced she threw a fit and kicked that lawyer out of the courtroom.
She also frequently did not seem to know or understand proper procedure, and constantly asked other officers of the court and the prosecution what she should do.
This woman has no business being a judge. Maybe one day, not today.

If you’ll remember back to the guests that cbs had on their show about this case. The ruling that came was different than the one cbs wanted or rather that their so called experts wanted. So it makes sense that they would attack her and her character like this. Especially when you factor in that these ‘experts’ are just an extension of Michael and Sheri redstone (the owners of cbs) and some of the wealthiest people in the United States. Basically they get what they want and if they don’t they destroy you. They have a horrific track record of this. This is just as biased as fox and cbs should have a propaganda warning.

The defense wasn’t giving the judge a choice but to react. Was her reaction perfect? No, but I have seen judges react to defense counsel in a similar way when they are “pulling stunts” to try to get a mistrial in a difficult case. I’ve seen a judge in my city snap on the defense who were doing less blatant acts of disrespect to the courtroom (in 2 murder cases). Judges and lawyers are imperfect people like the rest of us. Especially in a case where many children died, I think it was not possible for her to be impartial when this is one of the worst acts the world has ever seen committed by an individual. She might have been doing her best so I definitely understand the inability to be neutral even when it’s your job. Jobs are hard. I think all around the prosecution was incredible and the most professional. He was the best. The prisoner should have been sentenced to death, its a shame that the jury has to be unanimous. She did a terrible job, which is why she was removed from the bench in her other capital case by the FL Supreme Court, publicly reprimanded by the state bar, and essentially forced to resign. Specifically because of the extreme appearance of bias she allowed to fester. Literally *hugging* the prosecution team and victims' families. It is so beyond inappropriate it sounds made up, like an actual joke. Can you imagine being a defendant who is accused of something by the government, but presumed innocent, walking into that courtroom and hoping to get a fair trial? From the judge that's publicly _hugging_ the prosecution? Good luck! Judges like her get people like Cruz *let out* of prison -- because their convictions get vacated on appeal. Whether or not she was actually biased doesn't matter, the mere appearance of bias violates judicial standards and _the Sixth Amendment_ . A judge also has standards they are experienced to live up to, not just lawyers. I’m fairly sure anyone who has been to law school would have notices clear issues in how she behaved. There’s a reason the judge was reprimanded and not members of the defense team. Eg if any lawyer had in fact remotely threatened the judge’s kids like she accused them of, they would probably lose their licence. That being said, I've seen a lot of judges handle both emotional / heavy cases and handle problematic attorneys and there is just what I would call a "judicial temperament" that some have, that it's a level of patience that very few have. I think it's probably good for her own mental well-being that she stepped down because she was just a bit too easily set off. Judges are gonna have all kinds of emotional and horrible things in the courtroom, including disrespectful people, and they can't let it get under their skin like that or it will mean it's that much easier for others to set them off, so it's probably for the best that she stepped down. Also just for the integrity of the bench and the cases. If this had actually been a real trial with a verdict, her conduct could've led to an appellate issue for sure -- thankfully it ended up not mattering in this case.

So being snapped at and chastised by a dysregulated or impatient judge when you're trying to do your already very hard and traumatic job is a horrible feeling. Which is why judges need to be very mindful of their power and the tone they set in their courtroom so that they do not make an already very high-stress profession even worse. I love how the defense was so wrong but a Judge can be the same way during a trial of the attorneys start it🙄🤔 So wrong & absurd bc Judges are suppose to handl any type of situation & not respond out of anger or emotion & stay above situations & be able to handle it. Darrell Brooks trial is a prime example, that trial was 10 x's worse than the school shooting &'there were times aaI couldn't watch bc of how he was crazy, disrespectful & rude but Judge D kept it so professional & not once stooped to his level👍. That's why they are Judges & no matter how much a Judge hates the la yers or defendants they aren't suppose to show it.....your "well the defense attorneys started it" & even if that's was true....... a Judg doesn't & shouldn't get a pass to be equally disrespectful back. I watched that entire trial and Judge Sherer was nothing but spectacular in keeping the defense in line and the trial on task although I did find her to be rude at times.

After hearing her explanation about the comments about her child, I totally see why she reacted how she did. That was the one thing that I previously thought she got too upset about, but knowing more of her reasoning behind it makes sense. It’s also nice to see her reflection upon and admitting her part in it. That defense team didn’t fight fair at all.

She blew it, and lost. Usually, that's hard to do, in a guilty plea case, with defendant not even trying. Her taking out frustrations on the defense team, were exceptional. Like it or not, they did nothing illegal, and actually did their job, which avoids an appeal. If you needed a lawyer, you'd want the same service.

No this judge was terrible. This was her first murder trial and the way she behaved broke every rule of the DOJ. The worst was when she told the guy not to threaten her children when he never did. He responded to how she responded when she completely dismissed his concerns about his children being brought up.

It’s allowed for convicted felons to return to the courtroom of the judge or prosecutor in their trial? I would have thought that would be never allowed. Especially when there have been times when the convicted felons got out of prison and went after the judge, prosecutors or jurors that put them in prison.

I followed the case closely. Yes, the defendants were sloppy but unfortunately this judge was way too emotional for her role. She let her emotions get to her often and this cycled through the lawyers. It was very cringe to watch.

Absolutely, and she proved the defense attorney's point about her child. He complained that witnesses were talking about his children in the courtroom, and she brushed if off saying she hadn't heard it (even though it happened right in front of her), and he pointed out that if it was *her* kids getting talked about, she would have noticed it, and she immediately exploded with rage and bizarrely accused *him* of "threatening her children" for pointing this out. It was so childish and it proved exactly what he was saying, that she wasn't giving defense attorneys the same respect she demanded for herself. She came off like an emotional bimbo.
