I agree as per prior to the verdict. Once the verdict was rendered, she should have given the defendant the choice to leave the court room prior to her rendering all the mundane things she covered - though beneficial to you and the jury perhaps more so. It was unnecessary that a defendant there and have to hold her emotions any longer than she cared to.

I have seen that sort of closing with more judges in the last few years - that said it is reasonable to remember that what we see 'streamed' is not necessarily all. I think if you know in your heart you are guilty and your counsel talk about that with you ( and any good defense team would) You would expect to hear it - not every sentence but the overall nature. Juries often have a meeting with the jury after a trial has finalised to take on any concerns - not about the trial so much but about their own individual issues or difficulties emotionallly.

We also live within a society and justice system that holds certain truths to be evident; one of those being the ability of the human heart, body and soul to be rehabilitated. Without that belief, people either fall into the ill(mentally unfit) or irredeemable (inherently evil)., and as such, members in the second class should be put to death. I'm sure she probably is reflecting on everything she threw away. Alot of times we look at the murderers and it is hard to tell if they are experiencing any emotion at all. She was greedy and and she could have just told Taylor she stole the money-or used it- and arrange a way to start paying it back. Worst case scenario Taylor filed charges or sued her for the money. She didn't have to kill her over it. Now she will waste the rest of her good/40's and 50's years in prison. IF she ever makes parole what can she do with her life when she gets out? I thought the judge was ridiculously obsequious toward the jurors, constantly and unnecessarily praising them for simply sitting there and listening. I would run through a brick wall to get away from her!! *This trial took ONE WEEK, ffs!* Typically, juries sit through _WEEKS and MONTHS_ of trials for first degree murder, and even second degree, with thousands of exhibits to keep straight instead of the maybe 25 exhibits here….this trial was the fastest and easiest trial I’ve ever watched, and I’ve watched at least 50.

I felt a fraction of that back in middle school when the teacher let the class out but me I had to stay because I had detention. The sadness I felt when I got to watch the rest of the students grab their backpacks and belongings and leave out that door into a bright and sunny day of freedom. Happily having fun with their friends as they leave. While I had to just sit there in class alone and just wondered what it feels like to be outside. Crappy feeling and I can only imagine how worse that must feel to do that for life.

She will have to sleep on a cold cement bed with a single pad on it and the thinnest sheet to sleep at night. She can think about what the person she is and then think about what she needs to become to be a better person to maybe get to go outside like the rest of the jurors.

In your case, you probably sat in detention for an hour or two at most even though it probably felt a lot longer. I've never had detention but I do know it's nothing compared to being in prison which I've never experienced either, this lady will only see the sun in the prison courtyard for 25 years minimum and potentially for life and will never be fully free even if she gets out.

Than I hear Elaine (amber heards lawyer) call the Jury cheaters and imply they went on social media and spoke to family during the trial (when they went home). When someone murders another there is never just one victim, ever..... It radiates out into the families and loved ones on both sides, they automatically become victims too and are suffering a prison sentence in their minds for life. The murderer has taken their lives too. Don't kill. Don't kill. Don't kill.

I’ve served jury duty twice, and I’m being honest when I say it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life. (The other is childbirth!) It is a very serious matter when your decision decides someone’s fate. That’s why evidence has to be a sure thing because, bottom line, the law says “beyond a reasonable doubt” and that means everything. I didn’t eat and hardly slept the whole time, but I’m satisfied I made the right decisions. In fact, in one trial me and one other were the holdouts that made it a mistrial - we just did not have the evidence to send the guy up the river forever. Later I found out he was convicted but they found new evidence. So if you’re ever called, take it seriously and do your very best.
