@Salisa R no we most certainly can judge them. Let's just let people get away with things because some guy in the clouds says they'll be punished, cause that is totally logical.

There is a reason why there are signs in tubes that say "don't shake the baby" post partum depression can make parents accidentally kill their babies. Just because you have a great time, doesn't mean others have it. I know nothing about this case so my comment isn't about that, but this comment is extremely ignorant. There has to be more awareness about post partum depression so people seek help and don't hurt their babies.

@@heatherbixby415 I feel bad that they do that though because it’s already hard enough to testify against your parents about murdering their baby. But yk at least he told the truth and the baby got justice
@Jack Nicholls He’s a 15 year old boy, having to testify against his mom and dad because they murdered his baby brother. There should’ve been stricter rules to prevent trying to rewrite his testimony. It was not appropriate, and it made me feel even worse for the boy.
So, this is actually a court reporters issue most likely. While WE hear everything fine through the microphones, depending on where the court reporter is seated, she may not be able to hear him. It’s very important as a court reporter that we get EVERYTHING said, and unfortunately that can mean asking for folks to speak up. She even mentions she can’t see where he is indicating on the body; that’s because she needs to notate that in the transcript.
@Jack Nicholls That must have been an incredibly difficult to do, but I'm very impressed that your younger self did that once, but twice. Having to testify in court myself, especially when the lawyer for the other side would start his questioning with "Would you agree with me that ...", which, because my own couldn't be bothered to prep me for such leading questions ... but then that was in a case of Constructive unfair dismissal from my last paying job, so not exactly a Criminal Court. Closest I came was also to testify against my own father, which would have been when I was in my mid-late 20's, some 20 years old. At the time I was glad he pled guilty for the crimes of sexual harassment, abuse, and rape on my younger, severely disabled, sister, and myself, so you can imagine having to recount everything that I experienced and saw. Only years later, was it truly explained that had he pled not guilty, and it went to a full jury trial, my testimony alone would have been enough to have him sentenced to far longer than 9 years, of which he served six, because that is how sentencing goes, here in the UK. I can only hope, in both cases, justice was done on your behalf ...
@@laurieh4742, why are you getting so upset? If we can hear him perfectly, shouldn't we assume that they can hear quite adequate since they're standing right in front of him and he is speaking into a microphone?
I can't even begin to imagine the courage it must take, at 15yrs old, to not only face the brutal murder of your infant brother and to find out your parents were responsible; but then to go to court, stand up and testify against them. This young man is a credit to the so-called parents who didn't deserve him. The world needs more people like him. Thank you, young man, you were undoubtedly your baby brother's hero and now you are mine and a great many other people's too. I hope that in time you can find peace in knowing that despite the horrific situation you were in and the trauma and grief you were experiencing, you still had the courage, maturity and good heart/moral nature to know exactly what is right and wrong and to seek justice for your baby brother, who's life was cut tragically short.
Seriously I'm pretty sure she heard every word she just tried to poke holes in a solid statement from a very brave 15 year old... He's a child and spoke better than she did.
Definitely. My heart breaks for him. That attorney was not able to do a case like this in my eyes. I’m no attorney by any means but she seems very incompetent.
Haha!! That’s why she’s his dads crappy pro bono attorney because no one in their right damn mind would hire her (or the male attorney) to represent them. People tend to not like to pay for nothing and especially when their life is on the line.
Honestly, his parents *deaf* lawyer, had me wondering it she was trying to frame the 15 year old boy. She definitely was trying to rattle him, to discredit his testimony. Smh.
The parents don't cry for their infant son and older son they cry for themselves knowing they will get life in prision or the death penalty. This is one case that deserves the death penalty.
GET YOUR HEARING CHECKED. HE IS LOUD AND CLEAR. DON'T WE JUST LOVE HOW CONTRITE AND DEVASTATED, NOW THEY THEY HAVE BEEN CAUGHT. BET THEY WEREN'T WHEN THEY ABUSED THE BABY. GO FOR THE BIG BROTHER TAKING CARE OF "BUSINESS"
She can't hear him and conveniently misquotes him belittling the injuries he described. Her view was blocked although he testifies from a stand in a courtroom, so she asks a 15 year old to show again where his decreased baby brother was bruised on the head. What a disgrace. Is this how you represent the parents? There is no low these people won't go to. Appalling.
I think we can hear him clearly because he is speaking into the mic and it’s recorded. And the people was sitting in the far back so it was hard to hear?
It is a strategy for Defense because they are hoping it will distract the witness and the jury and keep him from telling his story with emotion. It’s disgusting.

I was thinking the same thing. Why would they be tried together? I would not want to be sitting next to that man if this was my case! Look at the Mother acting all out of breath and deeply inhaling. What an actress. She looks more like she’s being inconvenienced
The system is fucked. I say this as a psych in family courts. Children are dismissed and abusive parents are awarded custody. So many have PTSD due to failure to protect. Attorneys are in on the “act” and this is common. Most only care about money. Our court system is not about morals and humanity.
Why is this lawyer downplaying everything? “Just a small bruise,” “his head was tiny,” “I can’t hear you...” he’s literally the loudest person in the courtroom 🤦♀️
I certainly don't envy defense lawyers. I couldn't imagine trying to set someone free that I know is guilty. And then to belittle someone to further help that cause; I don't know how you can live a normal life.
The recording microphone is picking him up just fine. The courtroom one may not be, but yes, it seems it is a team tactic. Also seems the judge grew tired of The tactic, and so asked him to scoot closer. Young man handled himself very well.
The oldest and worst tactic to continue asking the same questions over and over . Too bad this 15 year old kid is far more intelligent than anyone in this court room .

@Salisa R why have courts and judges then, should we just have no law and order
A 2 month old baby?? How can anyone be so cruel to even hurt a baby. I have a 4 month old and this crushed me. What evil parents.
@LovelyLadyLocks these types of things have always happened, in fact rates of child abuse were much higher in the past compared to modern times
i lost my daughter at 1 month and i always think about how there are so many people who want their babies or want to have one and then there’s people who abuse and kill their chikdren

@@lornahalbert Thank you for explaining this. It was just hard to hear a young man have to recount something so difficult.
@Jack Nicholls
That must have been an incredibly difficult to do, but I'm very impressed that your younger self did that once, but twice.

She heard him. She is just asking it again to steal and make the 15 year old nervous. He handled it like a champ. As a person who broke the cycle myself it is the hardest journey ever to embark upon. Him having to testify against his parents is definitely a struggle that I cannot comprehend. My heart goes out to him.

Hello@@cat137
I don’t wanna say too much, too soon, since I’m not familiar with the case and haven’t watched the video to it’s entirety.
But, It makes perfect sense to me. I’m confident that many other people will agree.

"Parents accused of murdering infant listen to testimony of teenage son" .
The title had me confused as well

Agree! The title is so confusing!
In the UK, when a child is being interviewed like this they are assigned an ‘appropriate adult’, who protects their welfare and stops harassment like this. This is a disgraceful abuse of power by these females. If this is the American judicial system, it stinks.
We call those people guardian ad litems...I’m from the USA and I will 💯 agree our system sucks ....the welfare system here and in the UK have a bad habit of letting kids down they often die in foster care.....there have been cases in the last few years here in USA kids have literally DISAPPEARED and they could not tell parents where their kids were at...and a few of these kids were special needs kids....one mother the system had no reason what so ever to take ONE kid out of five and she was a special needs child....her mother was frantic her house clean kids clean fed she worked and all on her own took care of the kids she was responsible for I never heard if they found her child or not....it’s a sad sad world that’s all I know...this world isn’t meant for children anymore
Its corrupt like our government.

@@racharina no its his parents that are kid killers
Thank god the son had morals and testified instead of lying for them.
How about calling the deceased child by his name, Dylan, instead of “the baby.” Sickening.
It’s a lawyer tactic to make sure the jury doesn’t lose sight that this was a helpless baby, a child. Sometimes when trials go on for so long even if it’s just a few days, jurors can disassociate from just saying people’s names
@@kenadihunter6621 i just feel like shes a shitty lawyer and has no respect; but in other cases i'm sure that's true
they do the same thing in homicide trials by saying "the body" instead of the personal name .. they also use "the deceased" .. they do this to try to make it "less" of a crime if they can get the victim de-personalized ..
She also called the baby an "it" a couple of times. 🙄

This 15 year old kid is a hero. And speaks so well, mature beyond his age.
Sometimes abused kids grows faster for necessity...
@@Angela1996Elle thats true, it is the surviving mechanism instilled in that kid, he grew up too fast, seeing, and going through too many things, he shouldn't have gone through in a family.
This kid sounds very intelligent and I am just so proud of him but also feel so much empathy for him. He basically has lost his entire family. 💔
Young chap did an admirable job of being articulate and calm. I'm sure that was a very difficult day for the young lad. At 15 years old, he's still kid.

UK NewsReporter yes
I was just thinking that.
I hope it wasn't. I hope he has strength and wants his parents punished to the fullest extent of the law. He knows that he probably went through just as much. Monsters and DRUGS. All drugs are bad, they are shaitan.
Unfortunately they have more than likely robbed him of whatever childhood be had left, because this traumatic situation is enough to force him to become an adult far too soon 😢.
She needs to retire or get a hearing aid, how could you not hear him?
You are hearing a recording. Being in the courtroom is different.
In my opinion, she heard him just fine. She was trying to catch him in inconsistent answers.
She should have just asked the questions without the dramatics about not hearing or seeing... who just sits through entire testimony going “gee, I can’t hear him, guess I’ll just sit here and say nothing” No one

cps removes a 15 yr old but allows an infant w these monsters.
CPS HAS TO BE ALSO ACCOUNTABLE
My mother lost custody of me and my sister when I was 3 I'm from Australia btw. Years later we hear from someone from child protection she's had 4 more kids and three are in foster care seperated unable to live together. When they were with my mum at times apparently they were without food or a house staying at friends just fucking awful I never had an opinion on my mum because I have a great dad and he never put her down to us but now Its hard not to hate her. The system doesn't work
CPS definitely needs to get their shit together, in just about every State, County, City. It’s sad how many children are let down by CPS.
I knew a then 6yo who was with returned to his mother & his infant sibling when the sibling died of neglect. I met him after he was finally removed permanently.
I dont think they knew about the baby because he says she asked her was she pregnant as if she was even hifing it from him at first
CPS is constantly at fault in much to many cases (or should I say “understaffed” as they like to say) and NEVER held accountable!
Poor child. Brother is a hero for standing up for his brother.
Oh please Karen. The boy got a grown man voice that can be heard miles away.
Its a tactic you knucklehead
"The Karen thing is getting old"
its to make sure his story doesnt change. its pretty affective tbh
Tactic or not it makes her look stupid
Yes!
Casually, the parent's "tears" stopped as soon the the boy started recounting. Then they had apprehensive faces, but no grief in sight.
Yes!!!
Exactly
Exactly! They were "sobbing uncontrollably" when he first came onto the stand, like they were trying to guilt-trip him into protecting them. However, as soon as they realised that he was going to tell the truth and not change his story, their faces changed so fast!
If I was on that jury, that would tell me what I needed to know...
Yes, I noticed that too
exactly what i saw. fake tears
The amount of pressure on this boy's shoulders is tremendous. I'm so proud of him for standing under the weight of it all, remaining strong and doing what's right.
Bless the brave brother 🙏
Why don't people like this, GIVE UP the baby for adoption as they clearly were unable to raise another baby! Seems like a miracle their son made it to teen years raised by those same people.
It seems like the kid testifying is the smartest one in the room.

This young man does not sound 15 in voice, articulation or intelligence. My heart goes out to him. I know this has to be incredibly hard. RIP baby Dylan.
I certainly hope his social worker and his aunt and uncle realize that he’s been getting intensive therapy, and will continue to get it on a weekly basis until he’s 18, and that he has the sense to continue on afterward until he’s psychologically in a good place, or it’s very likely he’ll repeat the cycle.
I wonder if the 15 year old was abused as a child. It's odd that the Parents would treat one child well and abuse the other.

How absolutely disgusting is that! This poor child has already been through hell!! 😡😡
@@kimberlykoester8703 I agree. One jury I sat on was with a 14 year older boy. His mom was in his car with him and the cop pulled them over for going 15 in a 25 zone.(the roads were covered in black ice and we lived in a rural town so no stops lights anywhere) She was known for harassing kids and trying to “catch them” doing something. Anyway, things progressed and she found 1 Vicodin pill, which came from his moms purse when she knocked it over to retrieve her ID. She had a valid RX for it and everything. But the cop charged the boy with possession and wanted to throw the book at him. And the DA was trying to paint this kid as horrible and a drug user. Which he was not. I knew him bc I was also an optician from the only eye clinic in town. The next nearest one was over an hour away. It took us 15 mins to say not guilty.
