I feel horrible for these families, but honestly, I don't think the system has failed them. I've been to prison twice. I've never killed anyone or done anything close to what Nikolas did. But I do know what the inside of the private prisons in Florida look like, and I have a good idea of what prison he's going to end up in. He's going to suffer infinitely more doing life in a private Florida prison, than sitting on death row in a government run Florida prison.
Oh, and I promise you, at some point, it might be in a few months or in a decade, a corrections officer is going to make a "mistake" and transfer Nik into general population, into a unit where one of his victim's relative is being held.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost my little brother and watching my mother go through that was the worst part of it all. There is nothing more heartbreaking than watching a parent grieve. He was also my best friend I experienced sounds I've never heard come out of my body My mom mentioned the same. You smell their clothing because you're trying to find them... My mom has not been the same to this day. Trauma is a very real thing and unfortunately there's not enough help available. It sounds like you did an amazing job with your son❤️

That has forever changed how Christmas is viewed in my and his Sisters view. I try hard to keep it normal Christmas, it’s just difficult. I’ve gone through counseling and not much help- but we continue to continue.. I just hope and Pray the Families are able to find some solace in that the POS can never do that to any other family.

It’s cases like this where I’m just disgusted that a trial even takes place. That the victim’s families have to be dragged through such a pointless and ridiculous waste of time on top of having to grieve. A trial for someone who may or may not have committed a murder deserves a trial but when you have incidents like this it’s so unjust for them to put up with this when what they’ve already gone through is indescribable. Of course the issue of deciding what should happen to the monster exists but I still hate it so much. I’m glad the victims get to have their say but they shouldn’t have to do it this way and wait so long and go through all of this to do it.

But I do know what the inside of the private prisons in Florida look like, and I have a good idea of what prison he's going to end up in. As a Father whose oldest son was murdered 10 days before his 21st Birthday, I think I can relate somewhat to this Father. I’m just sorry the Judge couldn’t “Set Aside” the ruling in the Penalty Phase and Sentence this POS TO “DEATH BY TORTURE”. I pray the inmates do this for us.

That has forever changed how Christmas is viewed in my and his Sisters view. I try hard to keep it normal Christmas, it’s just difficult. I’ve gone through counseling and not much help- but we continue to continue.. I just hope and Pray the Families are able to find some solace in that the POS can never do that to any other family.

I'm almost speechless. This man's statement was so moving. I hope every word he said resonates inside that monster. His son sounded like an amazing man with a huge heart, and having a father like this was a huge part of that.

None of those words resonated with that demon, you can tell he doesn't even slightly care. He looks like a kid who's bored in the worst class of the day at school, it's pathetic. Lowlife isn't a damning enough word to describe the killer.

It’s cases like this where I’m just disgusted that a trial even takes place. That the victim’s families have to be dragged through such a pointless and ridiculous waste of time on top of having to grieve. A trial for someone who may or may not have committed a murder deserves a trial but when you have incidents like this it’s so unjust for them to put up with this when what they’ve already gone through is indescribable. Of course the issue of deciding what should happen to the monster exists but I still hate it so much. I’m glad the victims get to have their say but they shouldn’t have to do it this way and wait so long and go through all of this to do it.
This trial infuriated me. The victim’s impact statement’s really broke my heart, especially this one. You can tell the father is beyond heartbroken.
The sad thing is that these people who are testifying about how the shooter had hurt them and victimized their families are really just fueling the fire of his sadism.

This guy is so intelligent and well spoken, and very thoughtful, concise and very hurting. It's so easy to have compassion for the loss of a wonderful beautiful soul, his son Scott. So appreciative he spoke for his family and stood for ALL the families this boy destroyed

What the Parkland murderer has done is so cruel and so heinous, and to know he has no remorse and atonement for what he has done makes me angry. And he gets to live his life in prison, while 17 people he shot ARE DEAD!
I used to wonder if we should ever abolish the death penalty, but now I know where I stand-don’t abolish it, and definitely ensure the FL State Law is changed so that majority rule, not unanimous rule, is the basis for deciding on the death penalty!

Everything you said in the beginning, Absolutely u r right. But as far as the death penalty goes, I kind of lean towards Abolish death penalty, yes what this guy Nikolas Cruz was evil, but if it had been me, I would’ve sent him to serve life at the Hague for crimes against humanity.
In the State of Florida, Cruz has the choice of either dying by lethal injection or the electric chair. In my honest opinion, however, it should be dousing in gasoline and setting him alight. Then, all the Parkland victims’ lives will be properly avenged.
The death penalty is way too merciful. If you execute them it means they get away scot free with their crimes. Why are you on the side of this murderer? Why do you want to give him mercy?
No, spending the remaining decades of his life in constant pain and agony and anguish, never feeling safe ever again, being beaten up and raped daily, that's what he deserves. Not mercy.

My son just turned 11 months and I think all the time about when he starts school and how nervous I am. Nobody should have to think about this kind of thing. I can't even imagine 😢

This is what every good loving parent does. Rage at their child’s killer. I would do the same thing if I were in his shoes. My heart goes out to him and his wife and all the other parents that lost their child this tragically. This is the last thing every parent should ever have to hear after saying good bye to their kids that leave the house or apartment to go to school.
No parent should ever out live their children. My oldest is 5 to the day. And my youngest is 14 months. And I literally can feel my skin crawl thinking of anybody EVERY hurting them. I cannot watch this case, at any point without crying. Without anger. Without disgust. My whole soul goes out to these poor poor parents. I cannot and NEVER want to imagine what they went and are going through.
