In this type of incident where guilt of killing 17 innocent people is proven beyond a shadow of doubt. This type of incident should start with the charge of a death penalty. All subsequent hearings in court merely prolong the pain and agony of those who lost their loved ones which play into the hand of what that killer wanted to achieve. It’s a requirement. Lawyers are obligated to take so many cases a year as public defenders. They get paid by the government. They don’t like doing it because it doesn’t pay well compared to cases they take voluntarily at their own practice. These guys behaved horribly but in most cases both sides typically know each other to some capacity and they behave well so that they can get the case over. When you are on the criminal defense side it’s really not personal. In this case these guys were appointed by the court but even if it’s for your own practice you have a job to do. Whether or not you like your client or how you may personally feel about their actions isn’t relevant. Everyone has the right to an attorney and when you are there you have to have enough professional integrity to do your job to the best of your ability. Part of that is not acting like an idiot but another is putting your own feelings aside and doing what you need to do. Nobody was having a good time during this trial. Nobody wants to be there.
If your lawyers are ever, at any point in the legal process, unprofessional: drop them immediately. A bad lawyer will lose you the case faster than a bad case will. Aviation the judge was the one out of line here. They were making a legal argue and she threw a temper tantrum and accused him of saying something he didn't say. She was acting like a Karen.
The judge is wrong in this case…from my understanding the summarized back and forth is basically: “Judge Id like to ask you to intervene with inappropriate comments being made” “It’s best to just move on” “But they were saying things about my children” “Well I didn’t know you had kids (?) and I didn’t hear the comments so it doesn’t matter let’s move on” “But if they were talking about your children you wouldn’t be ok with that right?” “HOW DARE YOU BRING UP MY CHILDREN? YOURE OUTTA LINE!”
@@TheDudecof 1) The inappropriate comments were actually acknowledged by the judge; 2) Because those comments are immaterial to the development of the case & trial, the judge was correct to choose to move forward; 3) At that point, the defense had no authority or right to go against the judge's direction. They played the stupid game to fight a judge they won stupid prize. Next time maybe think twice before you pretend you know anything about the legal system or rules of a courtroom.

He didn't "Threaten" the judges' children. The judge said she didn't remember any comments about anyone's children. Notice how he reacts when he says, "For them to comment on my children is highly improper..." then watch how the judge reacts when he says, "If they were talking about your children, you would definitely notice it." He's right. She would've remember and said something to them had they been talking about her children. I understand the point he's trying to illustrate. The judge overreacted in this case.
That judge was EXTREMELY patient with that last attorney. She told him to "go sit down" too many times. She should have slapped a "contempt of court" charge on his azz and had the bailiffs remove him. He was WAY out of line.

The judge is wrong in this case…from my understanding the summarized back and forth is basically:
“Judge Id like to ask you to intervene with inappropriate comments being made”
“It’s best to just move on”
“But they were saying things about my children”
“Well I didn’t know you had kids (?) and I didn’t hear the comments so it doesn’t matter let’s move on”
“But if they were talking about your children you wouldn’t be ok with that right?”
“HOW DARE YOU BRING UP MY CHILDREN? YOURE OUTTA LINE!”
@@TheDudecof 1) The inappropriate comments were actually acknowledged by the judge;
2) Because those comments are immaterial to the development of the case & trial, the judge was correct to choose to move forward;

It is shocking how disrespectful these defense attorneys are to the court. They’re lucky they weren’t held in contempt.
What was really stupid is that the objection they had - about witnesses referring to their children (ie, how would you feel if it was your child?) - can not legally help their client in any way. So they were not making a scene to help him, instead it was for their own hurt feelings. That is something a good attorney would just sit there and take, or ignore.
