During my dads murder trial, while a graphic picture of the gunshot wound to his head was displayed on a projector, the presiding judge broke out into a bout of laughter after looking at something one of his assistants showed him. When I got upset and asked what was so funny, the bailiff told me to sit down and be quiet, the judge continued to converse with his assistant and chuckle. I never felt so mad and hopeless, and I'm supposed to call him your honor? Rise when he enters the courtroom? Not a chance. His name is John Knodell, Grant County wa superior Court, and he lost all respect from me that day
Fkn love u. Preach it. What’s right is right. And crap like that should never be forgotten. Forgiveness can lighten the soul, but only a fool forgets.🤔 Sorry about your father, and sorry to learn of such a shitbag judge in ANY position of power. Bastard judge. Be well. ✌️
So sorry to hear about your father and the imbecile judge presiding over the trial which must have been so painful for you all. The disrespect you received was immature ...abhorrent and unforgivable. There are cameras in most courtrooms. It’s news cameras or programs like COURT-TV that most of them don’t like in their courtroom. Because they show everyone the true behavior of people that supposed to be upholding the law. If you’ve ever go into a courtroom just look up and you’ll see those little black covers over the cameras. Just like the ones in a department stores.

She should be sentenced to a life time of janitorial service, or food service, so that she learns what it is like to serve others, and perhaps develop a tiny bit of empathy for society.
A judge should be unbiased, fair and just, this woman was judging everyone on everything including their appearance. She should never be a judge again, I honestly don't think she should ever step inside a court room again.
That's probably why they just let it go. It would cost the county/state too much money to reopen so many cases. That and the just simply don't care. There is little justice in the so called "Justice" system.
@Politically incorrect You are 100% correct! I don't see how this issue can ever be made right though, as long as they can hide their actions and cover up what they are doing, same with cops. The entire system is a broken mess with no way to fix it.
I’m sure there’s plenty of judges like this all over the country. A young assistant district attorney once told me that they are taught in law school “Be kind to your lesser achieving classmates for they will be the judges deciding your cases”!
I had a da tell me he will have an expert come in an say whatever the da wanted him to say. I said that’s not an expert then. But in small towns the judges and da do whatever they want.
Yup but a disgrace and disgusting thing by the investigation system. They keep allowing this to happen. By the way that judge looks like a gothic disaster and not in a good way
She complained about coworkers sharing memes, despite her supervisor not having a problem with it; it never went anywhere because this is protected first amendment activity. If clerk Karen has a problem with the first amendment, she needs to find another job; this is protected activity and the the state had actually done anything to punish them for exercising their first amendment rights, it they could have been sued for civil rights violations in federal court.
That would destroy me. Past trauma and abuse as a child by medical personnel has made it a very long and painful journey to making myself seek medical attention for serious issues, and then for regular health, I’m in a good place now 20 years later, but I’ve only just arrived, if I found out this happened to me, it would be irreparable, 20 years of healing down the toilet, but this time, the lid would be glued shut.

What’s worse IMO is that the agency that was supposed to be investigating the matter dismissed the case and the judge, nor the bailiff were disciplined. That agency or whatever is called needs to be investigated by an outside ethics board.

Before or after seeking out then sharing pics to go with whatever nasty, mocking message she'd been sent about some poor soul unfortunate enough to be in court? She was just as guilty & threw her cohorts to the lions.

And she found herself a privileged career where she could do it for a living! I'm disgusted Otis bitched about other women's heavy periods and cellulite. Who the hell does she think she is? Nothing viler than a female misogynist. And that snake was allowed to slither off the judge's platform and into a prestigious, well paid job as a prosecutor? Disgraceful! Where is the accountability? Aren't these people public servants? Erin Otis brought the entire legal profession into disrepute, she must not be allowed to continue to practise law - PERIOD! Respect to the professional who was courageous and principled enough to whistle blow, knowing the system would protect her. I hope this excellent journalism will succeed where the system shamefully failed, and get this ghastly woman thrown out of the legal profession and unable to practise law ever again.
Actually, she probably puts that fake humble act when she was not in court because she has no power elsewhere. People like her relish any power & are not comfortable where the playing field is even.
These people will nearly always immunized by their friends we the people must take investigative and punishment power away from people with a conflict of interest. It's no different than internal affairs and their ineptitude that's been shown since its development.

That’s a fact! I’m currently trying to put a spotlight on Fayette County’s family court. It’s shameful and legit innocent people suffer because sometimes with power comes corruption. These type of people should be watched closely due to having that much power.

That is precisely why the panel refused to discipline her. They could have to retry all of the cases she sat on and there is a very big dollar number associated with that.
Based on what ? These allegations stem from a single angry court clerk. The only evidence at issue was that the bailiff had dent a handful of inappripriate memes over the years. The judge didnt and her court rulings were flawless
Yes and every judge that released a violent criminal who went on to harm someone should be made to re-evaluate the decision and address the victims and the community.

Criminals should obviously be incarcerated and punished, but the courts have also ruined many innocent lives.
In legal terms they call this judicial efficiency or economy. It's the same reason they will overlook large and broad injustices, while granting relief on sporadic technicalities. When you see a child molester or a murderer get relief on a technicality while people get life for stealing three golf clubs (see Ewing v. California, SCOTUS), you can thank judicial economy for this.

Yes, it is bad taste. But everyone is human and people that see these atrocities day in and day out should be expected to never make a joke with a coworker? And if said coworker is that uncomfortable they can’t be an adult and speak to the person about it or their boss? They go to the media? What? I’m sorry but something tells me this case is being dramatized and inflated for the news. And what’s the purpose of that? To create agreement by the public to massive surveillance of everyone, everywhere, every moment. Let’s get the people angry enough to agree that people must be policed in every word they speak, and we will judge them on it, with no consideration of context or the big picture at all. It’s insane. The judge made a comment about knowing me and the Officer who issued the ticket - for all that means? In the end, and in spite of everything that I said against the ticket or being guilty, the judge basically said that I didn't really say that I wasn't "Guilty", and so he was going to charge &/or fine me anyway??? ...Before anyone says that is "Reasonable", it was the same exact judge that was overheard saying that he had previously scheduled another case, was going to allow the person to speak &/or say his piece about the case or incident, but had already evaluated the person as "Guilty" regardless of anything he had to say. I’m so tired of people in positions of power being paid so much more than their quality of work and having no accountability at all. Meanwhile people’s lives have been changed forever. I think it’s important to remember people do deserve compensations for errors that have affected their lives that they were not responsible for. And the judge needs consequences.
Truth
Have often said similar of compounded, redundant and outdated &/or obsolete laws and judgements that are made or enforced within and for such a business or system.
It is bad enough that these people have such power or authority over other people to condemn or change their lives usually for bad or worse, forever and making their money & living from it in the process.
Yes I'm sure there are many, many more who may or may not be so bold to get caught regarding such corruption and attitudes.
She clearly exhibits narcissistic behaviour. Lady, you ain’t no movie star. Not enough close.
All I heard in this video is that her and her staff liked to make very distasteful jokes. I didn't see anything about wrong sentences being handed out. Crap she even was nice enough to throw one guy's daughter a mini birthday party for a few mins to be nice to that family. Nothing about her actual job performance was mentioned.
This just looks like someone wants her seat as judge so they are using the distasteful jokes against her..
@@ceelow107 I think that everyone would like to believe an evaluation like yours (in a perfect world), which by the way sounds intelligent and reasonable - if it were not the system it is, where human / people make judgments and evaluations on other people based as much or more on (human feelings &/or opinions) than just written or case law, even though the people conducting the proceedings would like us to believe they are the most holistic and following the "rules" of the system. Also hearing about the "Birthday Party" thing sounded a bit bizarre even though most of us are not privy to extra or above ordinary events. I'm fairly sure of most people never ever hearing of anything like that. But then again I've heard of at least one wedding in prison?
I remember a time before everyone having a cell phone when the only glimpse of a court proceeding was an artist sketch of the courtroom.
Finally, I believe that most people avoid the courts and so called justice system like the plague for the same reasons / reasoning (as basically being presented herein).
One of my few and far between experiences was to "contest" a speeding ticket where the district attorney read the same exact word for word spill to me as the DUI driver before me.
Read Prejudice.
And so, in the end I guess we are all just offering comments for points of view or opinion on the aspect of videos we've seen.
Did ABC stop doing this kind of investigative journalism?

Imagine you're a mechanic, you totally screw someone's car up beyond repair, but we let your fellow mechanic buddies determine your level of accountability and punishment.
It's disgusting.
I'll fix it for you: ''imagine you're a mechanic, you repair someones car, its an ugly car, barely running, so you take pics and find some memes and send it to your buddies''
.....it's memes mate. f**king memes. Get over it.
@@danielseaburg9763 they are memes, however, in judicial processes, they must remain professional during related emails and court related information.
Here's an example:
In business/auditing/accounting/consulting memes like this could get you in trouble because if the meme relates to a client or any work, depending what it is, it's sharing confidential material AND possible insider information. There needs to be professionalism. Also a judge should be unbiased and these memes show a bias. I get it, I love memes, I meme on my free time and share memes often but never share memes directly related to any workload or client. Memes sent should be on a private channel outside of work, again, not relating or based on work
Better analogy, imagine you're a mechanic whose poor performance and lack of skill causes a car to crash and kill several people, and then your peers decide you can carry on. This woman is deciding death penalty cases, when she's proven she's intellectually and emotionally incapable of understanding the severity of that responsibility. Her peers have given her the green light to kill people when she has the maturity of a drunk teenager.
Yeah but she didn't screw up anyone's life. The just made "jokes" behind people's back
I think your example is way off. This would be like the mechanic fixing your car, after you crashed or failed to install the oil filter correctly, and then they made a poster with your face labeled "car expert."

@@sugarfree8303 Here's the thing about blaming "all politicians" or "most politicians": Politiicians are people with power, and we already know that power corrupts.
