Trauma surgeons see this type of crap all the time, they know the biggest thing is getting blood into them as soon as possible, everything else does not matter, my brother got shot at point blank range through his gut and they had a bunch of his entrails out on examining them to see which could be saved and what needed to be cut out and sown up, the biggest issue was not having the wound become infected afterward because the gut has alot of bacteria and infection can ultimately kill if not treated correctly.

It's fairly simple in a disgusting way. These people are typically outcasts with mental illness and want recognition. We coddle these mental illnesses and pretend like it's totally fine with little to no support from the juggernaut that is the American health care system. Since most folks just can't afford the care, they go unchecked. It only takes a one or two of these nut jobs to show our society will put them on a pedestal and give them the attention they want, regardless of how they got there. Now the kid is famous forever, all because we ignore mental health and talk about the killers instead of the victims.

Some people who have gone through trauma, end up being stoic and don’t show many emotions from not being able to “feel” anymore.
It’s ok if she did “have a crack in her voice,” cried, etc..it would be perfectly normal and expected from what she experienced.
So tired of hearing, “no emotions=strong.”
Also, I noticed that both she and her brother seem to have that same stoic expression. It could just be their normal personality to not show much emotion through their facial expressions. They usually get this from one or both of their parents like it’s just a genetic thing in their family.

I don't know that I could tell such a traumatizing series of events without so much as a wavering voice. That takes unbelievable strength. Wow.

I just want to shout out the parents for the strength to sit through this. I’m a parent and I feel for them deeply. If I had seen him cover his ears during that taping I would’ve forgotten immediately where I was at. But truth be told this man is condemned already. This is not a day anybody would sign up for. Even the judge looked mortified during the playing of the audio from one of the young lady’s phone.

“When something bad happens you have three choices. You can let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let it strengthen you.” ~Author unknown.
Again, not everyone is defined by their experiences. It’s a choice, not a life sentence. To define someone is to label them, as if they are a product of an experience. Terrible things happen, but that does not have to define who that person is. I believe that the word “define” is being misinterpreted, and would rather say that a person is most certainly influenced by their experiences.

I love this testimony.. This beautiful lady trooped in with her people, tells her story and they troop out. . Not to be looking at this monster who tried to annihilate her.
It is great to be alive. And it is great this lady ìs still alive x

A great documentary on this shooting with video of her after being shot just miraculously fell in a way that saved her life. And the fact that everyone thought she was dead so they didn't move her, also saving her life. It's a very good documentary showing minute by minute account of what happened.

It’s the solidarity and complete support of other survivors/family members for me. They marched in with purpose and followed her out as one.
