Psychopaths can't help themselves. Given an opportunity to talk, they'll do it. If I was ever arrested, the only person I'm talking to is my lawyer. What on earth? And why are you thanking the psychiatrist for doing his job? It's his job. And exactly what kind of "self care" should he be doing? Since this is his job, he is used to dealing in a forensic environment. I used to work with arrested adolescents. I worked with Eric Smith for a year. He violently sodemized and murdered a 4yr old at age 13. My son was also 4 at the time . He tried to test me by telling me in detail what he did to see what my reaction would be. You just have to distance yourself and try not to bring it home or you will have nightmares. Listening to him calmly discuss how lizards would react when he skinned them alive and set them on fire at age 4. He appears to be anxious to talk about it, enjoying the memory of it, and quite proud of himself. Believe me, he is reveling in this whole process with the psychiatrist .
