I wouldn't say he is "normal" If this is normal then what is abnormal. I just can't see myself going into a school and taking innocent lives I can understand how people can kill out of anger or revenge but to go into a school and start shooting kids unprovoked? That's not a normal thing I've never had that thought come to mind

he literally murdered 17 people and some of you are feeling bad for him, you should be thinking about the victims, he ruined so many lives, so many families, even the people who weren't injured, the trauma that the will have to deal with for the rest of their lives is horrific, HE is to blame, not his family, not the "voices" or the devil, HIM, he chose to pick up that gun and shoot 17 people. because he could. because he wanted to. stop feeling bad for him.

I don't feel bad for the shooter, as soon as they pull the trigger they stop being human, though, Idk about this kid but so many are created not born, there are sick people in the world and instead of rooting them out or teaching love and kindness to eachother we let them create monsters. There is a sickness in an overpopulated world, we have to figure out where it starts and how to fix it.

he is a lost soul. I do feel for him, and we need to understand what happened and why. He is a symptom of a lost world that is getting more and more lost every day. I have questions. I think more could have been discovered if the cop had not been so sure he knew all the answers while talking to him. He lost a chance to get so much more information. If you are interested, he is following the classic "Reid technique", just a little out of order in certain places. He's also implemented a small amount of the PEACE method in certainly places (I don't know if he knew it at the time), but that very unusual in the states. The Reid technique is being phased out by almost all countries bar the states, so I think this guy has gone out of this way to implement both methods, which makes him much better than most.

There was a recording from the shooter, days before the killing. In the taping, he described what he was going to do, the gun he was going to use, how many people he would kill, and how famous he would become. If one is having auditory hallucinations, there will not be this much planning involved, it would be more spontaneous. His mannerisms in this video presents as one who is acting out of guilt, not with psychosis. Obviously, he is disturbed in some way, to do what he did. However, knowing between right and wrong doesn't appear to be lacking.

How would you be? What would you do to attempt to help this from not actually being acted out? I urge anyone to be Nicolas Cruz and see if your view changes… judgement? Every step is important. His heart is pure safrice, reguardless how you see this… I feel he sees this as the only way to help society. This is needless and only can be stopped by ensuring our children have the proper understanding of who they reveal themselves to become and who they also once was…. It only takes one bad day for worlds to shatter. Things one cannot take back. The fact that his faith is strong. My heart knows his Soul. Fact. Everyone must face their consequences that they act upon … good and bad. Showing compassion and empathy is how as a society heal… make it safe for others to see and discover who they are. This doesn’t mean no punishment. It’s the acceptance of the punishments that has ya all baffled. He does not deserve death yet… that’s not your choice to make. That’s between him and Creator. I do not want him to allow the families victims to decide his fate.. although I see his maturity. Yet there is no way a young man will put his self on trial in front of the world… and it NOT BE FOR SOCIETY IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR ONE OF THE COMMUNITY. That is not how God desires it to be . Yet if you choose, which is your right as well… THIS GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE ALL MIGHTY. Pharaoh chose to punishment Jesus … why… that’s what the people chose. Hitler was elected by the people also. Moses ordered more than 250,000 followers to be killed. How do you learn about Satan? The internet, the violence, the murder on TV, video games etc. You can be influenced by the choices you make, some who study the Bible cannot be influenced by Satan especially at this age because they've taken on Jehovah's qualities even if it's still not perfect.
When these kids say ' voices' you better believe it. Notice they didn't hear them anymore once they have achieved some death, the demons let go. On to the next one. It's all about the blood. That's what they wanted here, because they know God is the life giver of it all.
Satan challenged God's right to rule in Eden, with lies. He still roams the earth now. This is a result of it.

Video games are hyper realistic now and nearly everyone of a certain age grew up playing those realistic versions. First person shooter games have given players the thrill of killing therefore some are desensitized to killing and death. I remember an older friend (someone who didn't have video games growing up) came over years ago right after the Columbine tragedy and she was shocked at the realism of video games being played by my husband. @@TheLolilol321 Thats not the goal. The aim is to get the complete picture and pass it on. Thats our job, hence our motivation. The courts are the ones that will decide if the picture (facts) we present are worthy or not and to what degree. Separation between the two is extremely important to function, especially when using outdated techniques like the "Reid technique". If you focus on "putting someone like this behind bars", you will in the end get false confessions, hence you don't do this job even if you are slight motivated by punishment. The newer PEACE method is a little different, but the US refuses to adopt it.

How are people even beginning to sympathize for this kid. He planned all of this out way prior, took a video of his “plan” and preparation for what he was about to do showing literal excitement over the idea of people in terror and being killed, and after killing one person he didn’t feel remorse and shot again. And again. 17 times over. No “voices” were telling him anything. He knew exactly what he was doing. He knew exactly what was going to happen.

I don't believe the kid heard voices, but that's just me. I think he totally knew what he was doing. I think he was angry, frustrated, feeling sorry for himself, and decided with full presence of mind to do what he did. Just my two cents. I think he really wanted attention. His brother's gentle and caring approach was wonderful.

@@oakmen4604 everyone's should. Not because of him, in this very moment, he's a perpetrator. But for the future, for others, to stop useless deaths from happening. He killed people and why should we care about his mental health? Simply because it could be your child with severe personality disorders, which aren't specifically caused by parents or friends, it could be more complex, going into genetics. BUT THERE ARE SIGNS - we HAVE to study, because saving one kid with any kind of sign or symptom of any possible mental disorder, sometimes saves 20 others, too.
Not a single ounce of compassion here, but common sense. Emotions are one thing, logical thinking another.
