  • Parkland trial Judge Elizabeth Scherer, upon return from the lunch break, ripped into Nikolas Cruz's attorneys and the prosecution lawyers for what she called "rude" and "disrespectful" behavior from the lawyers while court proceedings are ongoing. The judge admonished both sides to cut out what they are doing and have respect for the courtroom.

It actually depends on the Judge…some Judges allow the attorneys to stay seated when conducting witness questioning, some require attorneys to stand up …some judges allow attorneys to walk around between the attorneys’ tables and the Judge’s Dias while others require them to ask permission but all Judges require that attorneys ask to approach the witness or to approach the Bench and that’s because the courtroom deputies need to be paying attention to that interaction in case violence erupts.

She’s constantly having to deal with their petulant and rude behaviour. Not a thought for how their actions are making the whole thing even harder for the families involved. The lead counsel for defence needs to give herself and her team a good kick up the arse. I don’t have much respect for them at all now and I genuinely tried to have an unbiased view of them from the start….I know they have a job to do and in this particular case I assumed it wouldn’t be very pleasant for them.
