Resistance training and strength training is the same thing. It basically means training the muscles by exerting muscular force against resistance. This can be done by different methods, for example weightlifting, calisthenics, resistance bands, etc.
Agar gym join karna hai toh tumhein koi beginner weightlifting routine karna chahiye. Example starting mein yeh follow kar sakte ho, yeh ek simple full body routine hai. 4 days per week, only need dumbbells to do the exercises. Har exercise ke baad video example bhi linked hai. Repeat each routine 2 times per week in the gym. On off days you should do bodyweight exercises like pushups, abs crunches, bodyweight squats at home. You can take Sunday or any 1 other day as complete rest day. Start with light weights and keep slowly increasing the weight of dumbbells over time to build muscle.

I cannot do strength training due to some personal issue.. I started duing some strength training but got injured.. So i have stopped for a while.. I am only doing walking 10000 steps a day along with 30 min badminton.. Is it ok.. Will it be considered as excessive cardio? I plan to go to gym after 3 months..
If you are trying to lose fat, then it depends on your targeted daily calorie deficit. You should target a moderate daily deficit, maybe 500-700 to lose fat gradually without muscle loss. So if the calories you burn from cardio are putting you into a large calorie deficit then it can be too much cardio. Otherwise if you want to maintain weight then it's fine, just eat enough calories so that you replace all the calories burned by your daily walking and badminton, so that you avoid calorie deficit.
Start training when you can
And under guidance of a good coach. You can always train smartly around injuries too
