I’ve been watching your videos for a while. I’m in real estate with my wife. She started in that down market…lots of short sales. I had a loaded Scat Pack in 2017. It was a great car, but I sold it when my kids started driving.
Recently went to look at another and was told they were giving 10-15% off just before the end of the year. Sat down and when it got down to where the rubber meets the road, they came in over 6k above MSRP. It was a decently optioned car, but wasn’t a wide body either. It was quite offensive, the dealership’s sales manager thought that I was that stupid. Needless to say, I walked and didn’t even make a counter offer. I live in a military town, and sadly, I think they will sell that car to some unsuspecting Soldier…
Also, you earned a new subscriber.

That sucks dude. Sorry to hear that. Same exact thing happened when we went to by my daughters Supra last year. The dude said “my friend, my friend” so many times I thought he wanted to move in with us. When we got down to the numbers he tried to slide in $2500 in add ons. I told him to remove them and he took $500 off and at that point my wife and I told him he was not “our friend” and we walked and bought one from another dealer. It’s exhausting how they just assume everyone is stupid until they find someone who falls for it.

My old next door neighbor had a 1971 Hemi Cuda convertible with a 426 hemi. It originally had the 340 six pack, but he swapped the motors. So even though it wasn't technically one of the super rare cars, there weren't that many of these on the road in 1987.

The Hornet is a disaster, with the longest number days of supply (506). If you don't like mark-ups, forget Hemi Chargers and Challengers. Dodge marked up the MSRP and unless they come off MSRP by 10%, you're paying markup.

Every dealer that I've purchased a specialty vehicle from always tries to push how rare the vehicle is and how much it'll appreciate to justify a mark up. The truth is specialty vehicles will depreciate @ a slower rate than something mass produced, but it will depreciate. I always keep this in mind when purchasing and always break even or have equity come trade in time, dont let emotions cloud your judgement

I had so many comments about people that paid in full for a car, and then couldnt get their money back after stealerships sold their car when it arrived.
Hell, I bought somebody's car, and didnt know about it until I post it on a FB group. Talk about feeling like dirty and trash.
This has broken so many hearts, and the markups biggest secondary effect is increasing their desirability on the black market. So many cars were stolen, and once that happens, we lose a brother. Its too bitter, and I cant blame them for never wanting to get back into Mopar. It was hell just editing, having to go over things, and remember all the sad stories, that I may even move away from Mopar videos for a while.

I'm wondering if you can help me understand something. So there's a dealer here selling a Dodge w a 100k markup my buddy posted on his fb. And I was wondering, if these are msrp of 125k, plus another 100k markup, how are banks financing these? Are dealers expecting the 100k as a down payment? Because insurance companies will cover what the vehicle is worth, not what you paid, and banks know this as well. If you could clarify what the process was that would be awesome!
    Keep up the fantastic content.

He know ALL the bad stuff that dealers do to customers but now he doesn't work for them and he works for the customer. He gets the best deals and best rate's, if the dealer won't give deals he tells you to walk. He is really good, he gets paid by a fee he charges in which is so cheap compared to what dealer is going to charge. He knows dealership can't lie to him because he knows the books and tricks they do. He loves to help people that just don't know how shady these dealerships are. Great video! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

You're forgetting - Dodge did this on purpose, and it is the second time they did it - the same thing happened with the 2018 Demon. They completely support and endorse the dealers screwing their customers. There is no legitimate reason why they couldn't build thousands more Demon170's to make sure everyone who wanted one got one at MSRP. They build 60K challengers per year, even with running the plant for 2 shifts instead of 3, and closing the plant down multiple times per year. It takes the same amount of time to build a Demon as it does any of the other models.

Guess i grew up harder than most folks. I expect the seller to want the highest price possible and use every advantage possible. In return i do my research, pick out all the flaws and use every advantage, to lowball as much as possible. Everybody exaggerates a little, everybody slings a little hogwash, and its all part of the game. Sometimes you get wrapped up in the moment and take a bad deal. Then you go out there and grind to get a good deal on something else.

When this is all said and dne, i fully expect many dealership groups to be gone, out of business, and broke. I also expect major law suits against the dealers, employees, and manufacturers. Some lawyer with nothing better to do will get a class action going and there will be so many tens of thousands of people piling in, it's going to be EPIC. Anyone who paid over MSRP for a car is foolish. Cars are a straight up depreciating asset 99.5% of the time. And guess what, they depreciate FAST and hard in almost all cases.

And you must be a car salesmen by the sound of your grammar and insane example. You left off the tax benefits, you forgot that once you pay it off you live for free other than taxes and maintenance, if you rent it out you collect income for the rest of your life, based on history, all you have to do to net more money is wait longer. Based on your logic you should rent? Ok, so just $2000 a month for 30 years is $720,000 and you literally have nothing to show for it and will have paid off the landlords house. I have a duplex right now that costs us nothing to own and the mortgage is being paid off by the tenants. It cost $600k to buy 10 years ago and now it’s worth $1.1 mil and it’s 1/3 paid off by the tenants. Honestly, you are so beyond lost with your thinking that it’s frightening that you could even formulate a coherent sentence with such flawed logic. When I retire my wife and I will have a min of 2 properties paying us $8000 month in rent both of which were paid off by someone else. This year we will buy one more probably in the desert for $600k and rent it out for the payment or even a bit more and let that tenant pay it off for us. When we die we will leave several million dollars in hard assets to our daughter where she can take the $10k month in income or sell them and buy 20 hellcats. 🤣

I spoke with a Sales Manager at the "largest Dodge dealership in the country". The guy told me flat out that, " Dodge can't do anything to us about the mark-ups".

Using context clues I’m going to guess this is Huntington Beach CDJR lol. LA’s CDJRs must be some of the worst in the nation but I think they may take the cake.

Its not the fact people dont want the hornet its just people know they cant afford it with the markups. Im the kindda guy that would love it but 30k+ mrkups end up making it a 40 45k vehicle when i can get a 2013 mustang 5.0 in my dream color for that price. But i will not pay v8 prices for a L4 or a V6 car 😂

If the dealers didn't markup certain cars the flippers would be doing that. Unfortunately, that our current reality.

MSRP is already a markup. I custom ordered my Scat Pack in 2015 for 5250 under MSRP. Who ever is paying these mark ups is not smart.

A “rare” cars value was always dictated by the secondary market not retail. Just go ask mr 1 of 1 cuda how much his car originally sold for at retail….

And a new hellcat is not worth 90,000 I was going to buy one about 2019 until the crap hit the fan now that I’m ready I’m not paying that kind of money for a Dodge

It’s supply and demand on a product that’s a ‘want’ and not a ‘need’ so I have zero issues with markups. I mean if people are stupid enough to pay msrp on a dodge which has one of if not the worse depreciation in the auto industry, let them bury themselves even more and let dealerships make their money haha. As I said, it’s a ‘want’ and not a ‘need’. If there are people willing to pay above msrp = it’s a free country. Ferraris and lambos at times go for 100’s of thousands of dollars above msrp lol

For the kid that lost his job because he was honest with you about markups you should put that dealership on Blast like you did for the service member and Mac Heik Dodge. I mean you did cost him his job and a pep talk make it right? Just saying use your platform to help the fired salesman that helped you.

Judging from the salesman's spelling, sentence structure, language my guess is he's not that bright. He's doing financially well at the moment because of situations you mentioned but I suspect when things change his world may come crashing down similar to what you experienced early in your career. The fact that re didn't respond to your last post gives me hope there is some brain matter between his ears. I really don't see any point in you debating / interviewing him, don't see a lot of positive in that discussion.
Thanks for a great video. I'm amazed the Barracuda guy didn't realize you were driving a 170😀

The dealer that sold the demon to another buyer for more money instead of the military guy who ordered, is exactly the same as the home builders 2 years ago had contracts with buyers then broke them. The people with a binding contract and home was a week from closing had it broken sold to other people leaving the original buyers with nothing and life screwed up.
The builders and dealerships are one in the same they gladly screw customers for their financial gain. Thankfully 3 people got fired at the Dodge dealership in Flowood. May karma meet any business that screws buyers over.
