    I've just watched an 11 hour long course about Polyvagal Theory and I'd say this 9 minute video does an amazing job of summing up what it is all about and potential ways of moving into Ventral Vagal - what a fantastic summary!

    Great video, I especially like that you also included the anatomy. It makes the theory less vague, and easier to remember.

    I read one book of polyvagal theory and it suggest to make some peaceful scene that represents your Vental state and you bring soemthing form thre with you when you go to other states. So it's reminder of that peaceful Vental state that you return.

    Loving the video. However i find the music intense and not soothing. I wonder if the background music could be change? Would love to use this video as a resource for the courses i run.

    What if you are bedbound and you’re parents are dysregulated themselves. Can you heal without co-regulation from parents? Because they the reason I have this bc of generational trauma…

    Thank you for this clear and nice to listen to video! I have a question about Cold water exposure/therapy: I learned from a somatic therapist that you might activate the fight flight due to the " danger" and stressresponse of very cold water (while bath or shower like Wim Hoff). What is your vieuw on this and why? Thank you!

      Look for books by Deb Dana to learn more about Polyvagal theory and exercises/activities that can support the autonomic nervous system. Her website is Rhythm of Regulation.

    Now can you do too much of the exercises on a daily basis or can I do as much as I like?

    • @MindKnown
      @MindKnown  7 месяцев назад +2

      That’s a very good question! I would err on the side of caution and not do too much until more research is available, for example, some research suggests that too much mindfulness can negatively impact mental health!

      @@MindKnown ok thanks. I do a few vagal nerve exercises in the mornings..I guess you’re saying that’s enough for now.

    I think I understood now why i froze when i woke up to a person in my bdrm. It worked out ok. My chiwawa barked, that startled him & he left. I watched him go, sitting up in bed, not being a ble to breathe. 😮

    Once again western medicine attempting to re- invent ancient eastern practices in yet another "new"system.
    Chinese call it chi gong.
    Hindu call it pranayama...
    Westerners presume to interpret it anew 😂😂
