Orqa = $570. RapidFire = $150. Antennas = $30. Battery cable = $10. Total cost is $760 for analog goggles (with HD capability if you spend ANOTHER $100+ on a module). Is that reasonable in 2022?
Good question. I'm asking myself the same. I have Dom v3s but I want to get in on the OLED sweetness. Torn between the ORQA, the HDO2, or just waiting a bit longer for something new to come out. I'll be sticking to analog for a good while.

Great analysis Joshua. More than a year ago I made a move to DJI. I've never regretted that decision. I would like canvas mode support (which maybe I'll never see) but all in all I love the goggles and the system. It's what really got me to be passionate about FPV again.

Great review, just one quick correction. It actually does record dvr in hdmi in my buddy recorded a flight of mine on HDZero using the orqa dvr and I compared it to the vrx dvr and it is bit very good quality for HD digital input but still one of the best for analog dvr recording.
I just can't go down to that fov. I'm sticking with my HDO2s. I was super excited to pick up the new Orqas as soon as I heard they had the optic focus now, but i just can't be happy with 38° fov.
Thanks for the honest review. Orqa definitely disappointed us with the FOV. I guess I’ll wait for the HD Zero goggles for a couple of months and decide my HD FPV system. DJI is tempting but HD Zero is better at support and upgrades, also seen amazing developments and fast. I’m waiting for your review of the iflight commando 8 radio. Please release your review video soon Mr. Bardwell.
Still rockin my V1s. Only problems I've had were strap-related - I wasn't a fan of the stock strap and replaced it with one of the Steele ones. I then had issues with the ends of the strap slipping free of the stock plastic 'S' shaped buckles. Found and 3d printed a substitute off of Thingiverse... zero problems since. I would happily pick up another set *of V1s* as a backup.
I am working on a 2S DJI whoop that will come in at about 36 grams fly weight. It's 75mm. A guy from Europe I met here on RUclips, gave me the idea and he's raced others on whoop tracks, and been very competitive with this set up. Try it! The Naked Caddx Vista makes it an easy build... :)
I'm sitting here with my old Dom v3 and hd zero. I bought my Dom v3s used for 200 shark byte Rx for pre-order at 100, yesterday I pre-ordered the 1 wat vtx and camera for 145. That brings the total 445 add an extra 40 for antennas and accessories.
19:55 Well HDZeros high power VTX is 120 EUR in EU. Without Antennas, Cams or whatever. For 140 EUR Youi'll get a Vista including all of that. In general Caddx did a really good job packaging their stuff so you dont have to buy a thousand things seperatly. HDZero even makes you buy the stupid cable seperatly.
Both SKy04X and HDO2 are 46 not 43. I kind of thought I was getting the number slightly wrong, which is why I said, "about 43 degrees," but I should have just stopped and confirmed the correct number.
@@JoshuaBardwell no worries. I don't feel the smaller fov of the new Orca's is that much of a big deal and the slew of extra features are definitely great positives... Lots of great options out there now with the HDO2, Sky04x, new Orcas and DJI HD FPV goggles.
"I think we've got to start this review by saying" these Porqa pilot goggles are $569 and most people will add a Rapidfire analog module ($150) to them, and 2 antennas for at least $30, so these goggles cost $749 ... FOR PLAIN OLE ANALOG! 😳 Secondly, THAT'S INSANE TO SPEND $749 for friggin' analog FPV!!! 🥴😭 Of course, you still have to outfit you're quad with a top quality VTX (~$50), a great camera (~$40), and a receiver (~$25). You're not gonna use low end gear with this category of goggle, right?! So, your 1st quad is ready to fly for approx. $865 ! That doesn't get you a quad, that just gets one you already own, ready to fly analog with these goggles... Nope, haven't even begun to bring digital FPV into the conversation! Ridiculous! 🙃😲🤯😰
We announced line up of Orqa HD systems at CES 2022 in January along with estimated time to the market. Plan is to release the FPV module in 2H of this year.
This is probabbly the most Advanced FPV goggle on the market, ofcourse at a top price, Made in EU. It supports both analog and digital systems equally with optional BT/WiFi/RF Connectivity using other input interfaces.
@@neale3 way cheaper! ... And, you already know what you're gonna get! No mystery surrounding the Porqa digital, tack on, Jerry Rigged, sit on top digital adapter! Hokey! ... Especially when you're surely gonna be into this thing well over $1000, if not over $1200 ! And, it's not built in. Sheesh! 😳🙄
@@JoshuaBardwell from my experience, the quality (at least when I play it back in the goggles) is not near as good as the original feed, so I would still stick the the hdzero dvr when possible.
Got one of these, and the TBS Fusion module. Gotta say, good goggles, but the lack of TBS cover is... annoying. The online model for 3D printing doesn't actually fit the module, it's about 4mm too shallow. I do agree with other reviews that for the price, they should have included the fusion cover as an option.
My Orqa v1's have taken two vacations to Croatia in the year I've had them. First for a dead fan, and most recently to have Orqa look at noisy video input. They're on their way back to me having been declared "absolutely nothing wrong with them". If that's true, I don't understand AT ALL why the Orqa is considered a contender. I recently picked up a pair of HDO 2's and they blow my Orqa's out of the water in terms of visual clarity and lack of video noise from the VRX (I have both RapidFire and Fusion). It's not even close. When my Orqa's get back I'll post a video to show what I mean. Also, did they fix the buzzing issue when recording with an external microphone? Would you be willing to post a DVR clip using a TBS Fusion and an external microphone so we can hear it?
Why is it never mentioned in any review that the 04X and ORQA V2 has MUUUCH BETTER screen than HDO2? The FatShark is not as crisp and has weird noisy and reddish screen compared the Skyzone and ORQA. I have all three in my hand for a review and I can't believe anyone who has ever tried the other two flasghip goggles would prefer Fatshark. The Skyzone 04X and ORQA V2 screen has almost the same image quality. It's hard to see any difference. 04X has bigger FOV without any distorsion so in my opinion the Skyzone has the best goggles if you want the BEST image. In addition the light emitted by the ORQA V2 display illuminates parts of the optics which bothers me because It's like when you looking into a tube.
The pre-ordered orqa V1s fell apart(2 broken screens, bad fan, bad power inlet, bad factory battery 380$ US for screens). I would wait for QC to get under control before even looking into an orqa brand anything
@@ivanjelusic1730 I did. It's the same exact review Bardwells has done at least 2 times and is the same review as the half a dozen other channels that are doing what feels like its sponsored. The V1s fell apart and the customer service from orqa is trash. The pre-ordered 650$ V1 fell apart never dropped or mishhandled ended up in a landfill. The fit was never comfortable and the no adjustment for the optics was a huge oversight. I attempted to have them serviced but was quoted 380$ for a repair bill for just the screens. The fan power inlet and battery were never addressed. So ya I would wait for quality control or another company to produce a higher quality goggle. This seem to be a cash grab and a way to eliminate warranty on the poor quality of the V1s IMO.
@@dolseno2187 We would never pay for a review. Period. This one was not even authorized by us. Orqa FPV support is our best product ever and will remain like that, no one who ever interacted with out support would agree with your criticism. Orqa goggles were never $650. The V1 optics were the best we were able to produce at that point in time. $380 dollars repair cost is exactly the cost of displays you burned when used wrong battery. Did V1 had polarity protection or accepted up to 6S? No. Did we ever claimed that? No. If you listened to this review you would notice that all things causing damage are prevented and solved on the V2 goggles.
I agree with you the V1s were poorly designed and manufactured and overpriced then as well. Releasing a V2 is classic a cash grab. Bardwell has pointed out the flawes in the new goggles as well so big points for not selling out. I'm happy to hear that this was an honest review thanks Bardwell 👍
@@dolseno2187 V1 and V2 share pretty much the same design with major difference in optics. V1s were $20 cheaper than new model. V2 is the only model of goggles you can buy now so it cant be a cash grab or what ever you are struggling to imply here. Again, if you listened to a review you would see that V2 goggles are the best money can buy, with some compromises that you can accept or not when making buying decision.
Where are the new entry-level/value goggles ?! Yea sure high end is really cool, but there is currently a hole in the low low end, then there is the ev800(d), then basically nothing under 2-300 bucks. Am i wrong about what i am saying ? This may not be really a useful comments, but for exemple, i bought the eachine vrd3 when i started, as i wanted cheap goggles (paid ~60€ for it), just in case fpv was not my hobby, and now that i sort of outgrown them, but there is just nothing that makes me feel like is better, under 300 bucks... Help?
Prices for goggles have gone through the roof. I bought my Aomway Commander V1S for 220€ back in the day and thought that was expensive. They can't really compete with today's fancy goggles, but they also only cost 1/2 to 1/3 of them, so I'm still happy. Honestly, I'm not going to spend 600€+ on some basic 90s/2000s video tech, if I can get an entire VR headset for less than that.
This is a very good review, I have only see one better 😉😂. Price has become an bit of the elephant in the room for these goggles. I was luckily I got to spend a few weeks with them and frankly they are fantastic. As you say the menus, the local audio and ability to record the HDMI is fantastic as a creator too. The IQ improvements remain questionable but the FOV is Ok overall and 99% will be happy imo. These are with out question a premium set of goggles with premium features but they are not an upgrade for current users and they remain a giggle for people who are currently not using O4X or HDO2s. The real issue with the Pilots and is the pricing and how that’s perceived, there has just been some complains over the review where in AU they said they are over $1000 au that does not quite align with other pricing however the fact remains these goggles are a expensive purchase and you will need to spend more after the main outlay in many cases and this is putting people off. Many people they may not be upgrading from goggles that has a rapidfire or a quality external module so it’s additional cost to them. Then you have the connect module, this IMO should be standard part of the product but no it’s an additional $65+ on the price. In the end users can be spending $200 on top of the cost of the goggles to get a premium setup. And before it’s said yes I know Fat Shark don’t include module but Fat Shark should not be the benchmark here. Skyzone should be. I know Orqas costs and pricing will be higher being an European manufacture and having to fund their support ect but they need to do something here with some of this. My $150 Radio has WiFi, as does my $12 ELRS receiver. so why is is costing $65+ for the Orqas as an extra. I loved the goggles tbh but I could just not justify the additional £200 in the U.K. over the 04X. I would loved to have had those premium features but they were not worth $ £200 to me personally. Great review, great product. But a hard sell.
hi! what would u recommend for best quality goggles. I still want really fast latency and good fps but quality is what matters most to me. Or does the camera on your drone affect the quality
@@ivanjelusic1730 Nice catch! I only thought Nick Burns since he uses his phone to capture ambient audio and this seems like it would be a big workflow improvement for him. I quess at the time JB was not using as many cameras/dedicated audio recorder as he does now.
@@Nathan_Adams I've yet to hear a DVR recording from an Orqa goggle (v1 or v2) using an external microphone that doesn't include a constant hum/buzzing in the recording.
Another thing; if you are using IRC Ghost, these goggles are the ones to get. Integration of VTX control through FPV.Connect, and more stuff to come as IRC and Orqa are working together closely on new developments.
There came a point there was a goggle war where around the corner of every month there was someone trying to beat the last goggle released. Feels like it's been 6 months before a Google was announced. Strange
Not really. It's because analog's days are numbered. Manufacturers don't want to spend all of the R & D, manufacturing, and testing money on a product that is on it's way out. You really think analog will survive another 2 years? If it does, there won't be hardly any new products coming out for analog. I really don't think we'll see any, or almost no more analog goggles come to market. Not unless they are really a low price.
@@KOrnhOliO1 alright but let's say for an example I'm super surprised that skyzone hasn't tried to come out with a goggle for hdzero since skyzone was literally killing it against other market price points and competitors. Allthey need is good goggles with built in HD reciever.
@@odyss160 Question is, with HDZero saying they will come out with their own HDZero built in goggle later this year, would they license SkyZone to come out with a goggle to compete with their own soon to be available HD goggle? I doubt they would welcome the competition to something that will be the 1st HDZero built in goggle.
Just ordered the sky04x v2 because of the fov and everything I get for my money. I am not sure if I should have taken the Dji v2 + module instead 🤔 This whole topic is just annoying.. I just hope I will have reasonable long fun with the analog system before it gets replaced. :/
I can't find what the FOV of DJI av in is. So when I'm using my Fusion via BDI into the Av in, the FOV is much smaller than Digital. What is that FOV? is that 40 degrees? if I scale the AV in to 70% would that be close to Orqa FOV ?
The FOV of the DJI goggles is 54%. You can adjust it down, by 10% increments, to 90%, 80%, etc. The thing that is not equal, is the VAST SIZE of the screens in the DJI goggles VS. the tiny little screens of the Porqa's. The DJI's are very immersive, where the Porqa goggles are really tiny, and not nearly as immersive. Hard to compare FOV. The other commenter is not totally correct, but is close, because the screens on the DJI would have to be super small to give you a similar SCREEN SIZE to the Porqa goggles. The BIG ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM is that by the time you get the Porqa goggles to where they can actually fly analog, you are $569 + $120 - 150 for an analog module most use + about $30 for two antennas = $719 to $749, and you still don't have a battery to run the Porqa goggles! DJI comes with everything you need to fly for $569 ... antennas and a battery. Then just add a Caddx Vista for $139 and up, add that to an existing quad, and you are in the air! :) Such a better value, because for that amount, you also get the very best image quality FPV has ever seen - by a wide margin! Example: I took a 2.5" quad I have that is DJI digital equipped. I flew it in a park 3 minutes from my house. It probably has 100+ oak trees to fly through, around, over, etc. In analog, I simply fly around the tree trunks. Fun as hell, because every single pass can be a different route! DJI digital opened up an entirely new aspect! I can now fly about 20 feet up, through the MIDDLE of the trees canopy! I can see every single tiny little scraggle of ghost branches I never would have even attempted with analog. In fact, there are several "TAKE DOWN" lower hanging scraggle ghost branches that if you don't know where they are, will take you down in an instant with analog - you simply can't see them coming up on you in time! I have crashed so many times I can't count on these several ghost branches that come down to about 6 - 7 feet from the ground. With digital, these stand out like a soar thumb, and I can see them far ahead of hitting them. In fact, when flying through the 20' up canopy of small branches, I can see the smallest of the tiny scraggle - the 1/8" thick scraggle, and fly right between them, slowly maneuvering right through a tiny hole about 1' x 1' and out the other side - without crashing or even hitting a single branch! It's exhilarating! Imagine exploring a cave, coming across a passageway that is barely big enough to squeeze through, and making it through to the other side and being amazed you made it! It's Hella Co0ol! =(:^)-
You should also consider that most people already have a module so they're just buying the goggles. Not all of the other stuff like antennas and modules.
Hey JB, great review! I got the Orqa's literally the day they came out and never knew about the tilt sensor LOL, definitely setting this up as I stand and have a tendency to drop my head forward, see I learned something today. Also, I set my Orqas up for HDZero and struggled to find a low-profile HDMI cable. I also did not like the stock strap and found the Ethos fits, however, I spoke to Steele at Ethos and apparently there was a recent design change and they shortened the attachment point. Depending on which rev Ethos strap you get it could fit, maybe not. Either way, Steele made this right and is sending me an older strap that will fit.
I have those, and I just bought the Aomway replacement foam right from Banggood. I don't think the thickest works good for my face, as it holds my face farther from the screen and make it fuzzier. But, the thinnest foam, and the middle foam, work great for me. I have also found my own foam, of a similar thickness, placed the factory foam on top of it, traced it, and cut my own! It worked damn well too! And, I can replace it anytime I want to now. Hope this helps! :)
idk, even the best Analog googles seem so far behind DJI to me so i dont see myself spending this much on Analog. At least not for just freestyle/crusing flying for fun, in racing id see them being more usefull.
So much for Orqa using one platform for the future with cool things to come. Oh wait, no, just buy new $500 piece of electronics. Should we just recycle the old ones?
Hi Joshuah, (Or anyone else for that matter) Do I need to purchase something else to make these goggles work with my analogue VTX? Or do they come analogue ready , with the video receiver and antenna in the box?
@@JoshuaBardwell And this Rapidfire would go directly on the goggles? Also, does the ImmersionRC RapidFire module make the goggles incompatible with a TBS Unify Pro32 HV?
⚠️ QUESTION .. HDMI ONLY GOGGLES. (No RF or analog anything required) Hi Joshua and RUclips world. I am NOT a legit FPV pilot. I am more of DJI camera drone hobbyist. (Air 2s and Mavic 2 zoom and soon a Mavic-3) I do have a DJI FPV Racer drone and Goggles v2. The dilemma is…. I want to use the Goggles v2 with the Mavic drones but they have locked out that feature and probably do not plan on development. I have the DJI Goggles RE and used to use them and was very happy with the performance and picture. (bound to the Mavic-2 and with the Air-2s using both the original Smart Controller and now the RC-Pro to feed HDMI out from th controller to the micro HDMI input on the Goggles RE. Problem - I have a pretty severe form of spondyloarthritis (ankylosing spondylitis) which has fused my entire spine. I just cannot tolerate the weight of the Goggles RE but CAN easily handle the Goggles v2. As a “workaround”, I tried taking the HDMI output of the smart controller (and RC-Pro) and sent through an HDMI to A/V converter and fed that signal through the 3.5mm A/V input on the goggles. The picture quality was horrible ! And the aspect ratio all messed up. So.. I am thinking of going with a lightweight set of goggles fed directly from the HDMI output of either smart controller. What would you recommend? I do not need analog at all. I don’t need any receivers or anything on the RF side of things either. I just want the best quality picture as I can achieve at a low weight. (While cost is not terribly important at this point… i WOULD like to stay below $700 or so.) Any recommendations? THANK YOU !!! @@_Brando_69 Yeah, but just like Blunty said in today's FPV news segment, the DJI goggles latency is highly over blown. Your brain is very powerful!!! Your mind play's tricks on you, making you "think" you feel more latency, because you know there is more there because you know you are flying DJI. I'll bet you $50 that if there were a way to give you a blind test of the latency of DJI goggles vs. the latency of analog, you wouldn't be able to accurately tell the difference. Just look at JB's video with Stingy, a pro pilot, and neither JB nor Stingy could tell the difference in latency between 50hz and 500hz latency.
Thanks for the video, ive been considering the new Orqa goggles, do you know if the Foxxer Wildfire mod will fit, without a 3dprinted frame? this is the mod that i have on hand, if it needs a new frame to fit in the goggle bay, then thats a easy fix ig.

In general Caddx did a really good job packaging their stuff so you dont have to buy a thousand things seperatly. HDZero even makes you buy the stupid cable seperatly.
Oh, and don't forget! That "high powered" HDZero VTX won't even fit in most 5" frames, let alone any other size! lol
Man, HD Zero and their awkwardly shaped boards. Seems like they don't really understand the concept of standards.
I was under the impression that the Skyzone Sky04x are 46 degree fov in 4:3 mode(?)
(not 43 degree)
Secondly, THAT'S INSANE TO SPEND $749 for friggin' analog FPV!!! 🥴😭
Of course, you still have to outfit you're quad with a top quality VTX (~$50), a great camera (~$40), and a receiver (~$25).
Ridiculous! 🙃😲🤯😰

My orqa V1 records the hdmi input from my pc, not sure why yours doesn’t record hdmi dvr
Maybe I got that wrong. I was pretty sure it only recorded analog :-/
Orqas can record Full HD DVR from the HDMI input :)
Damn! I'm not sure how I've gone this long without realizing that! That's amazing!
There is a TBS cover module you can buy at TBS webshop that is injection moulded. We will have it in our shop as Well. 🙂
The tbs version module cover for the fusion fits like a glove and has the tbs logo on it.
Are you going to get them in the matching color?

Nice review. Pretty sure that Orqa’s DVR does also record HDMI in.
This is what I'm hearing from others. It really surprises me as I have never seen a goggle that does that.
@@JoshuaBardwell At least the Orqa V1 does support HDMI recording. Doing it all the time with HDZero.
I've recorded gaming footage from hdmi laptop to goggles with the built in Dvr of the v1s, I'm assuming it's the same in pilot
I was surprised when you said the DVR can't record HDMI input. I'm pretty sure the v1 goggles can 🤔
Apparently the V2 can as well. I didn't realize.
Is the microphone so that you can talk over the dvr? or can you send audio to the quad? or maybe chat with your spotter while flying bvlos?
I am actually watching this on a color calibrated display 😊
Skyzones have been better since SkyO3, but no big names want to admit that except Jon E5 and Albert Kim.
The pre-ordered orqa V1s fell apart(2 broken screens, bad fan, bad power inlet, bad factory battery 380$ US for screens). I would wait for QC to get under control before even looking into an orqa brand anything
Did you watch this review?
Again, if you listened to a review you would see that V2 goggles are the best money can buy, with some compromises that you can accept or not when making buying decision.
still waiting on the orqa hd system... lol
Why 60fps DVR? isnt the NTSC/PAL Signal only 25-30 anyways?
Where are the new entry-level/value goggles ?! Yea sure high end is really cool, but there is currently a hole in the low low end, then there is the ev800(d), then basically nothing under 2-300 bucks.
Am i wrong about what i am saying ?
This may not be really a useful comments, but for exemple, i bought the eachine vrd3 when i started, as i wanted cheap goggles (paid ~60€ for it), just in case fpv was not my hobby, and now that i sort of outgrown them, but there is just nothing that makes me feel like is better, under 300 bucks... Help?
Skyzone cobra x or cobra s box goggles are kinda somewhere in the middle..
Skyzone 04L maybe. Can get them around $350. Hard to find anything under $300 that is worth having really.

I can't find what the FOV of DJI av in is.
So when I'm using my Fusion via BDI into the Av in, the FOV is much smaller than Digital.
What is that FOV? is that 40 degrees?
if I scale the AV in to 70% would that be close to Orqa FOV ?
Scale down to 10% so you can barely read the osd then it's the same
The FOV of the DJI goggles is 54%.

Either way, Steele made this right and is sending me an older strap that will fit.
maybe a longshot but has somebody a tip for replacement/improved foam for the aomway commander V1 in europe/Germany?
@19:41, that's a deal-breaker, IMHO.
Orqa V1 dvr recorded hdmi input does this version not do that?
It does. I didn't know that.
So much for Orqa using one platform for the future with cool things to come. Oh wait, no, just buy new $500 piece of electronics. Should we just recycle the old ones?

Hi Joshuah, (Or anyone else for that matter)
Do I need to purchase something else to make these goggles work with my analogue VTX? Or do they come analogue ready , with the video receiver and antenna in the box?

⚠️ QUESTION .. HDMI ONLY GOGGLES. (No RF or analog anything required)
Hi Joshua and RUclips world.
I am NOT a legit FPV pilot. I am more of DJI camera drone hobbyist. (Air 2s and Mavic 2 zoom and soon a Mavic-3)
I do have a DJI FPV Racer drone and Goggles v2.
(While cost is not terribly important at this point… i WOULD like to stay below $700 or so.)
Any recommendations?
THANK YOU !!!
(and thanks to you / Ken Heron / Originaldobo for getting me somewhat into a hobby that has made me incredibly happy and frees me from my decrepit and failing body. LOL )
