I went from my Attitude V6 to my Orqa Pilots. Sure, they're expensive af but I budgeted for it and found that I really do love them. If they're for you then they're on the money, but if the money doesn't seem right they're likely not for you. I like analog, and I've tried DJI and owned a bit of HDZero
Great video I love my orqa pilot coming from the attitude v3s but I've had some issues with mine and wondered if you've experienced any I've had one oled go black and had to restart and was fine then I've had the rapidfire osd have a bad rolling effect in the goggles as well as it just completely locking up the goggles until I reboot them just weird
I have had occasionally had to reboot when a line on goggles appears. Happens about once every 30-40 power ups or so. Kinda rare but it has happened on occasion
OK - I agree on the image quality for sure but the price - with what DJI did changing the price for the V2 goggles down to $429 it makes it so much harder to look at anything analog that is actually more expensive! I really have to wonder how DJI is pulling this off and who knows what's really up I really want to like this goggle and HD Zero but there's just no way I can afford it at the moment, the total start up costs are the really scary part but the air modules look less expensive by a lot so that's awesome.. Wa, wa, wa, yea I'm crying about it but yea I have to believe that many others are also thinking the same things. At least if I did buy this system (Orca's with HD Zero) I would feel good about my purchase, I do think that the goggles look amazing and the performance appears to match... and the HD Zero system, lot's to like about it for sure... what are you folks all doing??? Cheers!
For new pilots it is hard to argue with the $429 DJI price. Many legacy users are still heavily invested in analog and for now there is still demand for high end analog goggles. Will be very interesting to see what happens in the next 18 months
Now is definitely not the time to be following the top dogs...... Too many choices yet to present themselves. Well, just one.... Hdzero goggles. What does interest me is why so many still fly analogue with HDzero as an option?
From chats I've seen with top pilots, many hate hdzero and have many false misconceptions such as thinking that latency goes up with break up etc. And then the other group is pilots who would want to go hdzero, but they have great sponsorships and get analog cameras and vtx for free and for them it makes sense to maintain those relationships and perks. Analog is still the current standard. Hdzerongoggles will hopefully help make a big difference in this
Hi Jon. Honestly from a racer to a racer, would you say smaller FOV is better for racing or it's just tolerable? I'm on the edge of jumping from HDO2 to this goggle
I stayed in an AirBNB with HeadsUP, Limon, Grower and several of the DRL guys. I witnessed a deep discussion between Headsup and Mondo (of 533), and Limon about this. Limon's contention was that larger FOV helps you see everything better. Mondo and Headsup contention was that smaller allows you to see more of the FOV without moving your eyeballs around. Their example they referenced were professional gamers that play on smaller monitors to be able to see entire screen without moving their eyes/heads. My assertion was that it doesnt matter as much as people think, but that it does matter from a marketing aspect, since it is the #1 spec people look at when making a purchasing decision. After this race, all parties involved have now switched to Orqa (limon, myself, grower, at the time, chief, mondo, headsup, and amari were all already flying orqa)
i believe the same resolution, they are both Sony Oleds, but the optics give the skyzone a larger FOV. In practice, they are both fantastic to look at, and resolution same, but pure FOV skyzone takes the win in that category.
@@JonE5FPV Ok.. cool to know I bought the right capable goggles. I am not sure 1080P will be that much better over these.. so thinking I can keep on using these with the HDZero VRX units.. and put my money towards the DJI Goggles 2 and V3 VTX units for some drones to have both capabilities.
I am on old hdo’s. Honestly I am disappointed in how hdzero looks like analog 2.0 and refuse to give money to dji. Looking to make the jump around Xmas and it keeps looking like walksnail is at least usable and heading in the right direction.
I also switched from my Skyzone 04x V2 to the Orqas and im not disappointed, absolutly not! I know the fov is smaller but the image is sooooooo mutch sharper but in a natural way not that software oversharpening thing. I think 37degree is the sweet spot for the 720p oleds. 46degree and more (maybe) are only good with 1080p panels. And the Orqa DVR is also mutch mutch mutch better than Skyzones V2 DVR. Ambient sound, streaming, and so on..
I made a lot of comparison test to deicide to switch or not from 04X and felt 04X way better. They have the exactly same image. I think you can feel sharper the Orqa because has a smaller screen with higher ppi. The main reason for stay at 04X is that I feel like I'm in a box when wearing the Orqa. I can see the plastic edges around the screen. The screen is in the "backgorund". So to be honest I can't understand why anyone buy Orqa. I think 04X is the overall best. No I don't need microphone... :)
I prefer the v1 goggles, they are just so good. Power button, amazing user menu, big fov, 60 fps DVR, amazing response with rapidfire, great form factor, mic location and one power port instead of the fan and power plugs. V2 only reason I don't switch is the smaller FOV, I could live with it but I prefer to be able to switch 44 & 37 opposed to only 37. Great goggles in everyway
I also think now that digital's is out and starting to take over in a lot of ways that analog fat sharks and this brand and some others like sky zone, they all should be a lot lower now it's just outrageous how these prices are still this high I mean it's ridiculous for a person that wants to get in this hobby just to get a decent pair of fpv goggles not top of the line just a decent pair and still has to pay outrageous prices... come on guys, the larger companies out here need to listen to the people that keep this hobby alive and give them your hard earned money for there products need to listen to what they have to say about making a good quality goggle for every average person out there could all afford one .I know one of these days hopefully soon , someone will be nice enough to do it. just my two cents worth......
It will be interesting to see what happens. I think they are still somewhat of a pricey item to make due to the oleds and optics. There is still a market for high end analog goggles (for now)
To me the Orqa the best dual purpose (analog and digital) goggle on the market. Fatshark seems to no longer want to support the analog market and even though the HDO2 are great, I own a pair as well as Orqa's, the HDMI port on the HDO2 has a issue which causes them to fail if you actually use the HDMI port. I am interested to see the digital solution that Orqa is coming out with. I currently have HD-Zero also but am waiting to the Orqa. My main issue with the Orqa is that you have to stop the recording prior to powering off. Years of having Fatsharks I am used to just unplugging, but if you do that with Orqa then the dvr doesn't properly save the file.
@@JonE5FPV yup you can se e hes running a 3d printed cover and when you open his “practise at least 150…” you can see at the beginning how ot shows the frequency and fades thats the fusion osd once you start recording
This is a ridiculous video! Maybe racers ONLY are switching to the Porqa's, but NO ONE in their RIGHT MIND is paying this much for goggles that do nothing when you buy them! You still have for spend another $120 - 150 for an analog module, plus at least $20 for antennas + at least $20 for a battery! That's $570 + $150 for Rapidfire + 20 + 20 = $760 for plain ole' analog?!! That's NUTS! And, YOU just bought into a slowly but surely DYING FORMAT! Right now you can buy the DJI V2 goggles for $429 and they come with antennas and a battery! Like another guy said in the comments: "The price is outrageous for analog." You have to be dedicated to racing or NUTS to buy these Porqa's! If you bought them, consider yourself P O R Q E D ! 🥴🤪
I like your cut clip edits of old films- always fun throwbacks
Thanks Andrew!
great commentary & excellent clips. sign me up. very entertaining clips too
They need to make snap on covers for the diopter and focal adjustment nob. That way you won't accidentally bump it or change something.
Nice but I'm definitely waiting on the HDZero goggles. Still rocking my Skyzone 03O lifestyle!
yeah, that could be a game changer. Hoping they come sooner than later!

Got a link you can drop for that mic? Looks perfect

That long HDMI cable does seem to be quite a pain, however it looks perfect for Limon
It does! he loves extra stuff on his head
