Ohhh wow First complaint I posted on FPV life was How I almost bought these until I saw the FOV and I’m so glad that was the first thing you said.... To me FOV ends up being almost everything because the whole point is the experience of flying
Yeah, I'm a big FOV guy as well but I do find that my brain will accomodate the switch to a narrower FOV if I persist. I'm loving the SkyZone 04X goggles because their FOV is great, the color is great and the RF performance is really good too. I've looked at the Orqas and would love to review a pair but in the meantime I'll just stick with the Skyzones.
I felt this review was probably the fairest I’ve ever seen, and also best all around. I for one would love to see more comparative analysis type videos from. You hella crushed it homie!! Thanks.
I'm one of the odd balls, got into FPV last year and got a Nazgul 5, Tango 2 and DJI Goggles. Loved it, but the lag was a no-go for me. Few drones in, got some HDO2s and absolutely LOVE flying analog > digital. Especially long range 100%
Stoked to hear this. I just started myself and bit the bullet on the HDO 2s after quite a bit of consideration. I also have a love for analogue radio and though it would be more fun for me to play with that aspect in other projects as well. Honestly I love the look of the DJI goggles so much more.
To the first ever FPV pilot video that I’ve seen (Fear no concrete) that got my attention to enter into the hobby both looking back and now seeing how much you’ve matured is astonishing. Excellent review, hopefully Orca takes your review as being constructive, it’s honesty that helps to gain the improvements everyone’s looking for. I’ve thought about getting another pair of goggles as backups for my Skyzone O2X’s, which I still love, but may go with the FatShark’s instead. Appreciate your open and honest opinion about all of your reviews and assisting to keep this hobby great.
I can completely understand why the FOV is a deal breaker for the goggles. I thought the same exact thing, as I suspect a lot of other pilots did too. I'm also running the HDO2s and I love the FOV on them, so it's hard to justify the $569 price tag for the Orqas. Keep up the awesomeness Steele. I point all of the people who ask me about FPV to your videos.
Thanks for the honest feedback. I bought them without even looking and comparing FOV. I'm moving from the OG HDO (same FOV). I think it definitely looks clearer, I like the ipd adjustment (I've got eyes that are apparently close together) and they work for me. I don't like the head strap battery location as as soon as possible I'm going to retrofit a different strap. Fan is great, menu is great DVR is great and I have a power button. Thanks again for the honest review and giving it a fighting chance!
I don't know how long.. But it's been over 5 years I've been subscribed to you. I just sit in the living room with my buddies and weed stream your videos, Charpu, you know.. All of you OG's. Thinking back I was flying toy quadcopters doing line-of-sight flips through tree gaps with auto level quads you buy at Wal-Mart. Or Dramida Vista's or... You get the point. It's been many moon's since those days.

Much respect for the last minute of this video. Its rare to find someone who turns down money for integrity, but i sure do appreciate it. I dont always agree with you on fpv stuff ( most times i do, but everybody is different and has different preferences) but whether i agree or not i know i can trust what you say and use that to form my own opinions. I do use any ethix stuff i can too, i only fly pb and js or lemon limes and your battery straps too. I think its cool that you offer quality products as a way to make money vs making money from shilling what may or may not be good products for review. Long story short, ethix rules and i appreciate you and what you do. Your god mode activated motel rip is what made me finally pull the trigger on building a quad and it was the best decision ive made as an adult. I learned how to solder from drones then got a job soldering custom battery packs for a living, drones are the keys to success lol.
Glad to see Steele is down to earth enough to buy the new gear and honestly review it. Also Glad I'm not the only one clinging to my HDO 2's. Thanks Greg French. Thank you Steele.
I just got the new Orqas. Coming from the 30deg field of view of the Fat Shark Attitude V5, 37deg looks huge, LOL. So very happy about my purchase, great image quality and the DVR footage is so much better.
I came to learn a hobby I fell in love with fpv before I ever flew, and I stay for the honest and great quality information and fun content. you taught me how to fly and I love it more and more everytime I grab my bag and find a new spot to fly till I get kicked out or run out of batteries haha 💙💙💙 I am just buying some new gear and it's crazy how backorder things still are even after covid has been over and gone for a bit now 😔 I been trying to buy a nice set of goggles to move from the used ebay fatsharks I grabbed just to get flying😂 I'm hoping you end up doing a little review of the fatshark HDO 2.1 goggles for those of us still loving analog💙 we trust your opinion on gear, thats why everything possible, I have ethix gear. Which has been amazing since I bought every item when they launched and I'm about to order the chesty, it looks super useful💙💙💙 here's to hoping fatsharks get pushing out inventory so I can grab up the "hdo 2.1" I never could find a pair of the hdo 2so that's why I'm hoping I can get the new version❤ ps I know this is older but it's raining so I went and rewatched some vids❤❤
Have you tried the Skyzone 04X goggles? Same panels and FOV as the HDO2. The Sky04X V2 also has an awesome DVR. I'm very happy with mine and the steadyview module they come with us pretty solid too. Two buttons and two roller clcky wheel things make for a super easy menu system. The fan and strap are quality too.

It's all advertising, stop believing these guys are average pilots, they are just "influencers" like anyone else on RUclips. People like him aren't here to help people but make money over their heads...
I had the V1's and purchased the V2's. I realized I needed the focal adjustments. I knew that the fov was going to be smaller however, I'm the oddball that doesn't mind it. I actually was having problems seeing well. Maybe it was because the V1's didn't have the focal adjustments, I don't know. But I love the V2's. I'm still new to fpv, but man what a great hobby!
I’m not sold at all I love my hdo2 and love analog I will not be switching anytime soon I’m keeping the analog going and encouraging more and more people to stay with analog… love ya bro always🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🤘😎🤘
if you get the chance, please try a set of Pilots and let me know your thoughts, I for one think the 37deg here are not like the 37deg on the HDO... looks bigger to me. actually went from v1 to v2 and it's not that dramatic difference
I still fly with my HD2’s, started with dominator v3’s but prefer the 4:3 to the 16:9 and the hd2’s have the biggest field of view at 50 degrees (I believe), I’ve been more than happy with them and my crossfire module, I highly recommend this set up if you can even find a pair of hd2’s 😂. I had to drive 2 hours away but got them for a steal at 150 bucks. Thank you mr. Steele for everything you do for the community, that fear no concrete video is what I still show people when they ask about fpv 😃, love your work and appreciate you, if you are ever in northern Kentucky I could show you some amazing places to fly, and I’ll feed ya too lol.
Completely agree, I can't sacrifice FOV. What were they thinking! What a let down. Appreciate the review, even though I already was put off by this fact, when it launched. 🤙
I really miss these kind of reviews. Just buy something and honestly review it. I really appreciate the work and cost you put in to do this. Will the Ethix FS strap work on these Orqas?
Orqa made that big ass strap for guys like Ruben. It'll still be tight on his head though🤣. I'm usually squeezing in those last few decent sized write offs right about now lol. You could always trade the Orqas for some silver or bitcoin.. Thanks for the video bro, I hope you have a great year as well.
thank for doing the honest review . it's a shame they couldn't even get the strap right for these . the good thing is we can always get an ethix strap. . I'm still rocking the Dom V3s So I can't complain about the 37° . Still good to see some Analogue gear being made .
Great vid. You shouldn't be sad that the orqa has a small fov. You should be sad that fatshark don't care about dvr, or product improvement/development.
Good mature honest review. Best one I have seen yet. Orqa needs you as an consultant. Don't know why they settled on that field of view. The headstrap is nonsense. Did anyone actually test it with a think tank group. Apparently not. They have a good start but missed in a few areas. I'll stick with my Fat Sharks and DJI Goggles.
Yeah fov wise I'm used to tiny. I haven't measured it but it feels like maybe 20°. On one side it feels more like a screen and I get less motion sick but on the other side I feel like the purpose of fpv goggles is feeling that you are inside the drone or RC car you are operating which small fov's kinda forbid. I just have a super cheap 72channel 5.8ghz Eachine EV100. Got it on sale for like $80 but at least it's light, small and it does its job well enough for a beginner
Little late to the party but I feel like I have to make a comment on the Field of View. I just recently tried the racing fov on my FPV.One (33°), I have them for more then two years now 😅, and I have to say I like that easily can see the whole image and don't have to move my eyeballs. I'm will not Upgrade to the FPV.One Pilot but maybe the 37° would be the perfect sweet spot for me
Bro, for real try the sky04x v2. It has everything you like about the hdo2 but with a better dvr and optics. The foam and strap everyone likes on the hdo2 comes in the box. Plus tbs fusion and rapidfire work great on them, and you can still use the steadyview module in the other expansion slot with quadversity. I went through 3 hdo2’s with tech support with bs wavy unstable image issues, only to find out their hdmi pcb is defective and they’re relying on tech support instead of recall. The only reason your hdo2 came working is likely because they made sure you had a good one, and I’d be willing to bet you have the hdmi problem anyway(a lot of people are finding this out late because it doesn’t affect the analog bay in the same way). Sky04x ending up being everything I wanted the hdo2 to be.
Great review. I'm still rocking my HD2 which as you know has the biggest FOV of all time at 50°. So I would really struggle with such a small FOV. That's the one thing that makes me stay with these HD2. Shame as the sound super impressive. Stay well and safe 🙏✌️
Agreed. 37 deg FOV is a complete deal breaker in my opinion. My current goggles are Attitude V6 (39 deg FOV) and even that is too small for my liking... I'm looking to switch to HDZero soon, but I'm still looking for wide FOV good goggles first... Like if I could get even box goggles like the Fatshark Recon V3, but with an HD screen and a HDMI input that would be excellent.
Got the HDO2 based on your review, they are perfect for me, thank you much for that advice. I value your opinion highly as it seems to mesh with what works for me. Am not liking many of Orqas decisions for their new products, glad they are compeating with china and putting out different products though.
Totally agree with the description. HD will probably be worth the switch in 5 years unless something massive happens before then. Until then, analog is king.
I'm still rockn my old HD 50 degree field of view had them for so long now and still working fine some complained of blurry edges but for me the OK and very immersing.
Great comparison vid. Seems everyone is talking about the same thing when it comes to these goggles and its not picture quality its the tiny screens. All the other manufacturers including dji with their 54 deg FOV have to be laughing their ass off at this epic fail.
@@chrswnd I mean, the DJI one is the best of both worlds - and a brilliant move on DJI's part 'cause it means they get all of the customers instead of only eg those that like a wide FOV. Their goggles are also very close to box goggles in terms of the external size, yet they're still massively popular in the FPV community, which I think proves that Fatshark and others' obsession with slimline goggles (which is why the optics are so complicated) is silly.
Thank you! I've been waiting for this review since you said you picked up a pair. I wanted to see if the FOV difference was significant enough to not be adequate. This answered my questions.

Really wish the fatshark had an adjustable fov in software. Reducing fov should be no issue.
Funny you say the head strap is too big. I bought the Ethix for my fatsharks and added 5” to it just to allow it to fit my head.
Even with release Sky04X seems like the all around best choice, comes with everything except a battery.
Brilliant vid man cheers 🤙 just the info i was after 👌👌
this video is absolutely perfect in 2x speed
Get the Original ORQA.. they have 44 Degrees FOV. Loving them
Great comparison vid. Seems everyone is talking about the same thing when it comes to these goggles and its not picture quality its the tiny screens. All the other manufacturers including dji with their 54 deg FOV have to be laughing their ass off at this epic fail.
most people I know that use DJI goggles actually scale down their FOV, no one is using the 54deg (just my experience)
@@chrswnd never met anyone I fly with that turns down the fov on their dji goggles lol. You tripping mang
@@mikeyfpv5128 don’t believe me if you want, but why would I lie? 😊 I myself went to 80% when I had them for a while
Good one, man. I like to hear your opinion so I can make my own.
Great blog keep up the great work 😎👌🏽
No thank you & I totally agree 💯% abt the FOV! 😭 Wish they were at least 42 but nope, rather worry Abt a bunch of nonsense for the future 😵
Thank you! I've been waiting for this review since you said you picked up a pair. I wanted to see if the FOV difference was significant enough to not be adequate. This answered my questions.
Honest review.
Awesome review. Thanks for the info!
Skyzone O4X 👍🏼
You should do more car videos dude! I love FPV but not unlike yourself have gotten more into hot-rodding as I've gotten older.
Oh yeah ? I may kick that back up in the spring. When it’s lotus weather lol
👆 This. I'm newish to FPV but I have been into cars for a long time, and I'm always eyeing your stable of rides in your videos. Definitely would love some content on that. That being said, really enjoyed this review 👍
@@MrSteeleFPV Sick! I gotta say that Lotus is probably the most Mr. Steele car you could have picked on the high end. Barebones and customizable.
I mostly mess with N54 Bimmers because they're affordable and well supported by tuners and after market vendors...but would definitely choose the Lotus if one ever depreciated its way into my wheelhouse lol
Thank you very much for this review. It helps me, cause I looking for goggles for now, and not sure I want exactly DJI FPV Goggles v2.
Happy New Year
I guess he does do reviews lol nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with paid reviews either. You should be able to make a living off of fpv, If and however you like.. you've put in the work and time should have that right more than anyone... everyone will be qinterested to hear your take on anything or any product. You've taught us all alot. Taught me to solder...solder good anyway lol thanks for the content steele always happy to see another video from you
