Absolutly perfect for my laminating machine ruclips.net/user/postUgkx3hNjPfuybeIthQIWOFnkq-r2slRbyqre item arrived on time and in great condition. These were a great value and although I thought about buying thicker these were perfect, not flimsy at all. I will buy again when I am out, and remember you can get in all sizes. This is an awesome product I can't live without!!
I have Deco foil and didn't know how to use it. I want to THANK YOU for this informative video. I Love crafting so I bought the foil and didn't know how it works. 😂😂😂. THANK YOU AGAIN and your daughter is a GREAT assistant 💟
Thank you so much for doing this, I have been wanting to get a Minc, but just simply can not afford it on SSI. Twenty dollars I can manage to afford and for the small amount of cards I make and the even smaller amount of foiling I do, this is perfect for me. I just put it in my cart and will be ordering it over the weekend. Thanks.
@@NancyStamps How about if I use photopaper? i noticed that the ink from the inkjet, sits on top of the photopaper, is that perhaps feasible in this case?
Depending on which Scotch laminator. Let it heat up for a minimum of 30+ minutes for best results. You might need to run it through twice. Use copy or parchment paper as your carrier.
I have a scotch as well and definitely have not had to let it preheat for 30 min...10 minutes maybe and it foils just fine. I even used it with my homemade toner (toner powder and glue)
Just came across your video and it was SO helpful to this 'newbie' foiler!! Thank you so much for demonstrating with a laminating machine 😃 helps me a lot I didn’t want to invest so much money into a machine I would be using seldom 😘
Your daughter made me smile the entire time, loved it! Great information, makes me feel better about buying a budget laminator to start. Where did you get your paper cutter? I've been struggling to find a good one.
I'm wondering if I'm using the right foil medium, ive tried Gemini Foil Press multi surface rolls but on further reading about this,I need toner foil apparently or maybe I should get a Minc machine,I thought this was going to be easy, all these videos on RUclips make it so
This was great to find this since the great deal I got on a minc, recently, was a bust since it didn't end up working. Ugh. FYI- I think you *meant* millimeter and not milliliter (which is a measurement of volume) but actually the laminating sheets come in 3 and 5 mils. Mils is a measurement for plastic sheeting and is not short for millimeter. Mm is the abbreviation for millimeter. One mil is approximately 2.5 percent of a mm. So it is extremely thin, as you notice. Lol You would need over 13 sheets of 3 mil (or more than 6 pouches thick) to equal the thickness of just one millimeter ( which is already rather small since you need over 25 mm to equal an inch). :)
Very interesting. Thank you for doing this. I love that butterfly print for testing. One because it's home printed rather than Factory printed, but also it has the Bold shapes and the fine lines. I wonder if you've tried maybe heating it up for a good 30 minutes and then tried the butterfly print, if there would be any difference in the foiling
@@NancyStamps I have the same issue I'm using Heidi Swapp heat reactive foil...and its all over the cardstock...I've tried covering with regular copy paper and wax paper..wax paper made it worse....can you help?

why is it always toner printed? why cant i use inkjet printed?
Because inkjet ink soaks into the paper and toner sits on top for the foil to stick to. It's science.
@@NancyStamps How about if I use photopaper? i noticed that the ink from the inkjet, sits on top of the photopaper, is that perhaps feasible in this case?
May I ask, What’s the difference between toner foil and foil art?
The foil art is the toner printed design. The toner foil is what foil you use to stick to it.
the paper with black ink, is that laser printed? or is it okay with inkjet?
Has to be laser for the foil to stick . It won't stick to inkjet

I'm assuming this wouldn't work with an inljet printer
No, it needs to be toner printed by a laser printer.
How do you get it not leave foil marks all over the paper?
Make sure you use toner foil and not hot foil.
As of 2023 that laminator on Amazon is now around $30.

so you have to copy your images to foil on a laser printer?
Yes, laser printer is the only way it works.

No, has to be printed by laser. It sticks to the toner.
My $18 old scotch laminator foils well 😁👍. MUST let it heat up for 30 minutes before foiling.

Yes. I would recommend that if this wasn't getting hot enough, seemed to work ok though and I didn't even let it heat up the whole 30 mins.
What kind of foil is this? Is this the reactive foil?
It's always TONER foil when using s laminator or minc
