It's always a fun surprise to see what you come up with. Please show us what you make with the gorgeous negative in the foil. I know you'll make something wonderful!
Hi Ann these are really beautiful on those little places that skipped you can take a glue pin just draw those in let it get tacky and then take your foil and just your finger and rub it a bit and you can fill in those spots you'll never know... I just love those
There are a few companies that make a sticky embossing powder just for this purpose, but it’s great to know fine embossing powder works too. Thanks, Ann!
Yeah, I believe RANGER still makes a Sticky EP but I've never used it (forgot all about it until this tutorial). I'll have to give it a go. Thanks Ann (loving this series)
Thanks Ann another great idea and video. I have tried foiling using the laminator, like you, a couple of years ago and gave up. Will try this way when I have finished my year long tidying up of my craft room. Lol x
Thanks to your experiments Ann I’ve laminated gold tissue paper single sided with Matt pouches I put the gold side of the paper on the non laminate side The result is some really posh easy to stick wrapping paper for small gifts love it So many options with tissues paper - even wrinkled and ripped recycled tissue paper !!
WOW That is wonderful Ann thank you so much. I have a foiling machine and I know that technique is different using dies but this gives a whole new dimension for using my stamps and laminator. I love your videos on your different techniques - thanks for all the ideas.❤
Wonderful as always Ann. I saw a video where the lady put her image with the foil on top and then put that between two sheets of copy paper, put through the laminator and it came out perfect. I haven't tried it yet. I always watch your videos first before trying anything. You are always so accurate and inspiring. Best wishes Jo xx
Thank you so much Ann, I really really enjoyed watching you create these stunning and gorgeous cards, and the foiling gave them the extra WOW 🤩 factor. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
The embossing powder acts like a glue for the foil to stick to. The heat from the laminator re-heats the melted powder and at the same time applies pressure to the foil so that it sticks to the paper.
Hi Ann, thanks for sharing this. My laminator is old so I would put it through twice. The piece you peel off would make another card. Vice versa if you know what I mean :) Stay safe and keep them coming........
I love all of your playful experimenting! You know what i use for sparkly sprays? Those products that you spray in your hair. They work perfectly without falling off. I think it's for glitter in your hair to go dancing...? Out during Halloween too
Wow, those are gorgeous😍. I have a bunch of foil to play with too. I can’t wait to play. It’s gonna be a few weeks before I think I can actually craft. I’m thankful to find time to watch and comment on Facebook. Everyone is making fabulous stuff. I know how much joy that brings you. You should buy stock in laminators lol. Maybe at some point you could show us some of the things that go in the bin, just the amount. I think some people might find it encouraging. Thanks Ann great series xx
Ann Melvin Positivelypapercraft Thank you just so people know it’s a ton of mistakes which are actually lessons. I post some of my original cards I made my mom years ago on Facebook, they were kind of a joke because she would say don’t waste money on a card I can take that to the casino and have more fun. When she died I found out she saved them😊
Hey Ann, you could use your waste/negative foil by applying a large piece of double-sided sticky tape to a piece of blank card and placing the foil onto the sticky. Then you can run it through your die cutting machine (for the pressure). Peel off the foil carrier sheet and you should have a foiled design on your card with sticky exposed, if you cover the sticky with fine glitter, you will then have a foiled and glittered design.
Oh WOW, that's just given a new lease of life to my stamps. You're so inspirational, thanks for all your lovely videos Ann. Have a great day, stay safe and well xx
Love your cards, thanks for your tutorial. I use a piece of baking parchment folded over just to keep the foil from slipping or wrinkling. I reuse the same piece of parchment over and over.
These are amazing Ann. I'll need to look into getting some of the foil as I don't have any right now. But sure will give it a try when I get some. Be safe & TYFS
Very very Pretty cards! 😃 Thanks so much for sharing this technique. Do you by chance have a video of how you make your shimmer spray? Thank you... Have a Blessed Day
Love that love the accent ❤️ I love leaning new things I keep buying more things to make different items your tutorial is really good and I'm going to try myself I just need to get some embossing stamps and powder I have some foil so thank you for sharing 👌♥️
I wonder if you put the card through sideways it would catch the top and tail of the image better? Beautiful results that I shall be trying. I have used the 'used' pieces to make cards tags left over from laminating laser images.
This may already have been asked and answered. If you're using foil over the image, why do you need to use embossing powder? Can't you just lay the foil over the inked image without powder? Much love from Scotland. x 😊
@@LovingCreativity Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure if the embossing ink with the heat of the laminator would be enough on its own or if it would need the melted powder for good adhesion. x 😊
Also try sticky embossing powder instead of normal - it’s designed for foiling. Important not to overheat it, it takes only seconds for it to go clear and as soon as it does then you foil. You don’t even need to laminate. Watch Tim Holtz demo on sticky embossing powder. You also need to dust the paper and foil with a soft brush to avoid white spots.
Could you not go through the maschine two times? Can you use whats left ( folie) again? Is that a normal laminier Maschine ? How hot does it get? Greetings from Ann from Germany Sorry for my english.

Oh yes i have this too but didn't try it xx
I’m loving all of these laminating videos.
You can fold a piece of plain copy paper to use as a carrier sheet.
It is an awesome. I would never thought you could put foiling through the laminator. Beautiful cards! Thank you for this video.
Thanks Ann another great idea and video. I have tried foiling using the laminator, like you, a couple of years ago and gave up. Will try this way when I have finished my year long tidying up of my craft room. Lol x

I love this ! I would love to see what you do with the negative
Lovely cards.😊
Lovely & thank you Ann I will certainly give this a go, though I don’t understand the need for embossing powder 🤗
Dont use it and see if it works

What a great idea. I have these rolls of foil and haven’t used them as yet. Think I will try this technique. Thanks for sharing.

@mscoop74 I think the embossing power works as a “glue” that the foil attaches to. USA 🇺🇸

I need to try this, great idea, tfs.... Can you do a craft room tour Ann just to give me some ideas for my little space... Xx
