    Came across this video because using the foiling tool that is designed for the Joy is a bit of a struggle at times. My favorite part about this is how bold the lines came out. Thank you so much for this alternative!

    I just had GREAT success using the scoring stylus in my Maker with Cricut foil and some random textured cardstock I had. It worked with both a writing font and an image. I changed to line type as Score. I set the material to deluxe paper thinking it would apply more pressure than thicker cardstock and made two passes. Brilliant results. Also, you can just hand write using the scoring stylus too. Thanks Kay for your inspiring videos! If we only watched the Cricut instructions, we would never get anywhere as far

    I have recently bought a Cricut and want to use it to do slightly more unique and sophisticated projects to incorporate into my art and paintings. Just found your videos and working my way through them. Hallelujah! Your instructions are clear, concise, and easy to follow. I can use the principle and adapt them for my artwork although I am sure I will incorporate them in my cards and craft projects as well. Straight to the job at hand with no boring chatter and annoying pop-ups. Thank you so much and please keep exploring new techniques! Maybe I will become CleverSomeday too.

    Hi! I just found your video! I have tried almost everything that I have found online to do a design that I have to use for wedding invitations, but most methods are too complicated for me. Finding this video, I think, will be the answer to me. It looks so easy, and with beautiful results! I placed an order tonight right after watching your video. Although my design is pretty intricate, I’m hoping that it’s going to work! I have a Cricut maker, so I’m wondering if the scoring “blade” would work the same as the scoring stylus. I will have to wait for the transfer sheets to come in the mail, so if you have any thoughts on this, I would appreciate it very much! I will let you know how it works as soon as I do a few samples!

      This foil can fill thicker areas *if* your file has hatch filling, but unfortunately you can't do hatch filling in Cricut Design Space. I guess this is a slightly older video however, very informative! Quick question - is this essentially embossing the paper in which you place the silhouette foil sheet onto? Thanks in advance, I am a Cricut Newbie and still learning terms, techniques and of course, the Design Space software!

    • @cleversomeday
      @cleversomeday  5 лет назад

      the Cricut doesn't really have enough pressure to emboss card stock/paper directly with the stylus like this, but yeah, its the same idea as if you could.

    I tried this with my Explore One and the foil did not adhere well enough to the card stock. I even bought a low tack painters tape to try to compensate. I was really excited to see this technique, ordering the foil specifically to do this, but it did not work for me, even with increasing my Cricut's pressure on the stylus.

      Sorry and surprised to hear this as this video was made with an Explore One. One thing I would suggest is to try a thinner material setting or thicker material setting depending on what you already tried. The other thing that might work is putting a shim under the paper or doing multiple passes. Also, how does the stylus work by itself? You may have a scoring pressure issue in general that you need to contact support about.
