    I don’t make cards or scrapbooks, and though your creations are really lovely, i am not inclined to take up this craft. What I like so much about this video is your eloquence of narration. Wow! And that made me watch the entire video. There are many videos on RUclips that I never finish watching because the narrations are too wordy, with sentences such as, ‘the first thing you’re going to want to do is you want to....’. Thanks for an enjoyable video. 👍🏻

    Loved the non laminator methods more, especially the glue dots, glue pen, and the rubber cement, as those techniques were new to me. However since we now have the duo transfer paste, I can use the foil and my die cutting machine/ plates to get the laminator look. J.D., this was intriguing and informative. You rock, and thanks for sharing!!😘✨👍🏾

    JD, how is it possible that you are ALWAYS so friggin’ amazing? Your videos are always so packed with amazing ideas. Plus, your freehand lettering is beautiful. I’d LOVE to be able to do that. Keep up the amazing work! I really appreciate how you show when things do not work well, and how you work to fix them and show it all to us. My fave is always going to be the use of the stuff in the jar (lol) on a stencil. On the ones where it didn’t turn out so well, I could see using that by cutting out a die shape and putting it on a card or in a multimedia page.

    Great rundown, I didn't even know there were that many foiling methods.
    I never used foiling so far, though I occationally printed out my own stamps (mostly labels for mason jars).
    I'd usually finish them by sticking parcel tape on them before cutting them, to make them more resistant, and shiny.

    Hi JD. For two different effects I liked when you used the double sided sticky sheet with the die cut because you put the negative pieces back in to create a multi-colored look, and then when you used the Versamark ink pad to stamp, but DON'T use the embossing powder because that stops the stamped image being sticky, so the foil won't stick to it.

Will go to watch the Jennifer McGuire tutorial as well, as I have the need for flowers at the moment. I thought all of your ideas were good, I even liked the one where you only used half the sheet and even though I only watched this a second ago, I need to go back and re-watch (it happens with age!!!!!) because I liked that distressed random kind of spatter look you achieved. Not over the top. All I need now, is to find my laminator, LOL LOL LOL. Thanks so much - need to save this so I can watch it over and over until it sinks in.

    • @WestCoastCanuck

      Lines in foil (like the ones in the video with the green foil/laminator combo) are often from wrinkles in the foil or scratches on the back of the foil itself. Keep the foil as smooth as possible before you apply the heat and pressure.

    • @ItsMeJD
      @ItsMeJD  6 лет назад +1

      Warm soap and water. It might remain a little tacky, but in my experience, that's never affected the performance. It actually helps the stencil to stick better to other surfaces without leaving any residue.

    The embossing pad... you need to stamp using it but don't add the powder. The foil can't stick to it when you've just covered it in powder. Do you see? So please try it without the powder. The powder creates it's own metallic effect for the embossing sticky stuff. (like foiling it but with powder instead, and a heat gun to melt the powder.)

    I was in love with the CRAZY period at the end with the results of the Laminator and PLEASE SOMEONE STOP ME. I have amazing as it is a 23 year old laminator. Actually 3. Very professional laminators actually and in there lies my problems with laminating toner and foils. These use a thick carrier which just is too thick and maybe even cools down the lamination rollers too much too. SO I got terrible results recently. Yes I understand the problems here. I bought a cheap laminator off Amazon to work with foils but it arrived damaged. So decided to make thinner laminator carrier sheets out of paper stock I have and see how that works. Meantime really enjoyed your whole presentation and how toos. I just watched a J. McGuire video on foiling with a foiling machine so will want to return and watch her other foiling techniques tomorrow. It's almost 2 in the morning here. OOPS dang RUclips videos. Where does the time go. Thanks for the share and the tips and the FUN. And WOW look at your viewers too. Amazing and happy to know I am not alone in my GOLD FEVER GLITTER obession.
