This is one of the most informative videos I have seen. Many tell you to not throw away your foil scraps but no one has show us what to do with them and how to do it! You are awesome and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!!!
I really enjoy your videos of the foiling. I purchased the Gemini foiling machine 2 months ago and then saw your videos and watch them over again many times. I just realized I have a Laminator so will try with that too. I hail from South Yorkshire in the UK and I am a lonely crafter, and so enjoy watching video's for hints and tips. Off now to watch another of yours I found and then to turn on my Gemini's. Many thanks for sharing with us all. Take care Dorothy
Absolutely the best information that I have received in along time. When to a big crop and took a class where we used foil, the gals were throwing out foil sheets, ugg, I hit the trash bins! I love to be creative, but love to save my bucks for something I really need. THANKS NANCY, you are a gem!💜🤗
So glad to have found this video! I just got a Glimmer machine from Santa and hated to throw away the waste. Today I got my toner sheets and used your method with my Royal Sovereign laminator. Worked perfectly!
WOW!! What an informative video! You showed in an earlier video how to use the waste using the Gemini (which I did try) but this is so much easier & by using the toner sheets you can double foil which I didn't know. I think this is why your new subscribers (like me) are growing...we search RUclips for help with our new foiling machines & when we find you...well all I can say is" done deal"..you're the best!! Keep them coming..I just binge watched :)
Thank you for your video. I haven’t done foiling in a crafty sense (only on certificates at work about 30+ years ago) and now that I’ve seen this video, I am encouraged to give it a try. Thank you again. Happy New Year!!
Nancy - thanks for showing us what to do with the foil scraps & foil ! Very useful information! We appreciate you for your wonderful work and your information! 💕
Thank you so much for this informative video. There are so many about foiling but this one was one of the most helpful I have seen. Thank you so much for sharing.
A big thank you Nancy for sharing this information. I bought a bunch of foil for nail art purposes but since I don't do my nails anymore I wanted to find a way to use them. This is the answer! Also, you are the only one who I came across who made a video explaining that there are TWO types of foils. I was going nuts trying to use the nail art foil, which is the hot foil type, with an iron. Foil was everywhere on the paper, so I bought a laminator only to have the same results. Well, with this method you saved my sanity and day. Thank you!
I have been saving my scrap foil ever since I started foiling, The full negative sheets with patterns I use for making new backgrounds and then in the black I ad a contrasting colour of foil. All the little scrap pieces I use for adding foil to texture paste etc for a more grungy look. ;) I forgot to thank you for the duster tip. I always asked myself why the foil didn't stick every now and then.
I bought the minc when it first came out. I do not have a laser printer and I am so happy to see that there are toner sheets! Just bought some! I will be buying the Gemini foiling machine after Christmas.
I tried this technique some years back when I first got my foiling machine, but sadly I don't like how the foil dulls when u do the second layer. Such a shame, as it is a super cool way of using up what would normally be wasted. But if you don't mind the satin look on the 1st foil, after you have put the 2nd foil on, then it's all good. Really good to see this being put out there again as it has been a good few years since I got the original foiling machine to come on the market and it was shown this technique then. All the best, Diane UK xx
Super helpful, i bought some hot foil but i dont have a machine to use it with so now i can use toner sheets which i do have but didnt know what to do with them! Thank you so much!
I bought the special plate to allow me to foil leftovers on the Go Press & Foil machine, but find it very awkward. I also have a Minc laminator and will definitely switch to using my leftovers this way. Great job. I always learn so much when I watch your videos. Thank you.
Thank you sooo much.. I bought foil for my granddaughters album but couldnt get into it.. now after seeing this I think I will be foiling everything 😊😊😊
Hi Nancy, Loved Loved Loved your foiling crafty tutorial Thank You So Much For Taking The Time To Share I really appreciated all your very helpful tips Love to all Lin 👌💞🦋🐕
Use the hot foil first since it's heat activated and going to stick anyway, then use the toner foil as the second layer of foil since it will only stick to the visible toner.
Wonderful video! I never thought of double foiling--such a cool idea, and a great way to make your foiling prettier. Thank you so much for sharing this. Have an awesome day! :)
This popped up so I watched it, this makes me want to learn foiling!! I think what you did was very beautiful and the fact you were able to get your money worth out of the products - wow !!! I am now a new sub!!
Nancy you are the BOMB!! I have learned everything I need to know about using the foil press. I got a super duper bargain at the Edison craft show in NJ, paid $65 for it. Love all of your videos.
Thank you for sharing this info. I have a minc and foils but I have never tried it out. I guess I need some toner sheets before I try it. But this was great info. Thank you 😊
I loved this video. I am brand new to foiling. I am anticipating the arrival of my Gemini foil press!! I noticed that you said you can use a glue pen to fix the dust marks after you have foiled. Do you have any videos showing this? Or do you have any on Foiling Snobs?? Thank you!
I have three rolls of foil bought I don't remember how long ago. I wasn't happy with the results and there is stayed gathering dust (not literally as it's in a plastic tube). I've no idea if they are hot or not but I am gonna get me some of those toner sheets and start die cutting. Thank you! PS I must remember to take the waste plastic off!!
It’s important to take care of your leftover foil to avoid creases and and scratches as it has a direct effect on the quality of the project when using it again. Thanks for your tips.
You can also do the opposite with leftover toner sheets. After i cut shapes on my cameo i use the negative space sheet and foil it then die cut with it
I went to Staples and asked to have them print entire sheets of white card stock with their laser printer. They only charged 11 cents for each printed sheet. Now I used them with dies and then foiled them.
Just watched this video, thank you so much for sharing these ideas. Can I ask you please where you got that dust remover not sure what it's called it was green. Also would that also be used for heat embossing and cleaning card before stamping. Thank you ahead of time
@@NancyStamps Thanks. You were using a little pad that looked like microfiber sewn around a sponge in some of the videos. Can I just use some microfiber cloth?
Great video! Thanks for showing all the examples. One question - if you double foil with the adhesive backed foil second, won’t the foil stick to the whole piece, and not just the toner paper that’s exposed? Thanks.
Great information. You posted below that you used the Creative vision stamps foilables duster. Since Creative Vision went out of business, is there another recommended option?
Another great video!! I am having trouble with the double foiling. It is not coming out crisp like yours - it looks under-foiled and in some parts the words aren't clear. I tried it with pieces of toner sheets as well as double foiling the Deco Foil Mates. I don't have a Minc but a regular laminator. Do you think that may not get as hot as your Minc? I don't have heat settings - just the "ready" light. Thanks
The laminator will never get as hot or pressure like the minc and the Deco Foilmates are not the best quality. So you have two issues there. I would look into getting mini minc first.
@@NancyStamps Thanks Nancy. Appreciate you getting back to me. I also did what you suggested and experimented and realized I have to use the parchment paper as the carrier sheet. They came out better but not as good as yours. Looking into buying the mini Minc.
Where do I get the foilsbles toner sheets. I checked Amazon and they had icrsft deco foil peel n stick toner sheets. I’m not sure the quality. Thanks Great video.😊
Is it possible to use the minc dies foiling first .then the second time the sentiment with toner foiling .or just the other way . But to use that together ??
Thank you for this super informative video. I have bee6 saving all my foil scraps and will be trying your technique. I have a Gemini Junior. Can you tell me your sandwich for cutting out dies. You mentioned it in the video but I couldn't catch what you said.
Hi Nancy, I am wanting to get into die cutting, what machine would you recommend for a beginner please. I have the minc and want to start making cards away from cricut machine. thank you.
Great video. I have used double sided tape on card stock to use up some of my foils and they came out great. I was wondering if you can put the foil with the adhesive on just plain card stock?
If you have a foil with adhesive built in, it won't normally stick and be "messy" if you use it for the second layer of the double foiling? (like that gold starburst foil did) Why not?
Not anti static, just a soft microfiber sponge or a brush will work to dust off the area. Never use the anti static tool. It will add dust & ruin your foiling.
@@NancyStamps Thank you. I never use that tool with foiling because of the dust. I don’t even like it for heat embossing because of the dust. Haha. I was curious because sometimes the foil has a lot of static and I thought maybe you found some magical new tool that would also work with heat embossing to avoid static, so thank you for your response. 😄
Thanks for an AWESOME video!! You mentioned 2 way glue to fix spots, does that need the heat after?? Could you show it?? Just learning foil and I love it

Just found your video. Thanks for a great tutorial ! I use my HP Laserjet to make toner sheets.
Isn't it cheaper to buy toner sheets instead of printing so much on your own printer?
May I share....I used a magic cleaning eraser and cleaned one of carrier folders that I had a lot of over- foiling on. Very easy!
So many great tips!! Thank you so much! I’m like you, I hate when it doesn’t foil completely and evenly!
Very useful to me! Thanks!
I have been using this method ever since you advised me a while ago. So glad you have bought out an informative video for everyone xx

What a great help! I never thought of the dust problem. Now I know why my projects kept having those black spots. I stopped foiling because of that.

No, keep heat embossing seperate from foiling. The company is now retired. Use a soft, large make up brush.
