Hi friends! Leave a comment letting me know which card is your favorite. :) ✭ FULL supply list with PICTURES: ldli.co/e/yeemjqq Note: this technique will work with toner or transfer foils. It will not work with foil meant for hot foiling.
Hi Simon, fantastic video as always, thank you! I know I'm a little late to the party and I hope you see this comment. I was just wondering why you chose clear embossing powder instead of Rangers Sticky embossing powder? I purchased the sticky embossing powder and tried it once but I didn't get great results. I'm definitely going to give your method a try, looks fantastic! However I was wondering if you've tried the sticky embossing ink from Ranger; and if so how your experience was with it? Thanks so much.
It was the 1st time I saw that technique. I have been stamping for 30 + yrs & you still can learn something. You also explain things so well. Thank you so much. I will make sure I follow you! Dee
Oh my gosh I am astonished... I think I like your foil rainbow background. Whenever I get an oops on my card I always say `Now I know where my sentiment is going.`! Thank you for the inspiration Simon! I am officially floored
Wow 🤩 another amazing video from you ! You inspire us all but especially my little guy Carter . He is 6. He loves loves loves your stamps . The trampoline jumping critters and superhero 🦸♀️ set and he has so many others from your collection . I have a large stamp room and Carter has a desk next to mine . He die cuts , inks and blends . Tim even sent him some dies and his favorite is the dinosaur dies ! It was so cute 🥰 He is new to foiling . We are learning how to be safe :) I can’t wait to show him this video when he gets home from school !! With a little help from mom :) I think we will be foiling soon Thank you 😊 you are awesome
WHOA ok looks like I discovered a whole new craft that's going to take all my money. Never seen this before but it looks awesome, going to have to learn more about this for sure!
I have a Minc machine, but always using the toner method wasn't as easy as this. Thank you for your tips and tricks. Also, never thought to use my rotatory cutter for cutting the foil. Brilliant!
I am new to making cards. My jaw dropped so many times watching your video, which I watched 4 times. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cards and letting us know a simple yet easy way. Each card is exquisite 🥰
Fantastic! I have a Minc I have never used. 🙈 I recently pulled it out, trying to think what I would make with it. Now I have a project to use on it LOL. Well, once I can get to the foiling sheets. Forgot to dig those out at the same time. I really enjoyed all the examples. The first one was so beautiful, but the last one was beautiful AND simpler to do. Thanks Simon, you’re helping to inspire me to get back to crafting. 😁
Oh! Young man, these are stellar ideas that I actually WILL implement! I have all the tools and supplies- I guess I was waiting for a toner-less method to use my little toner activated foiling machine. Lololol I watched because the first card just knocked my socks off, and then I saw your full reveal of the LAST card! Dead simple, but packs a powerful punch. All the cards are just lovely. TFS!
Wow! Just Wow!! All 3 cards are great, love the tone on tone inking. I feel like I have just been handed a gift that does not require me to invest in a hot foil plate and aaallll the dies that would surely need to follow… at a time when I can’t afford to anyway. I can’t wait to get out my embossing powder and try this! Thanks SO much Simon for your always inspiring and positive videos. 🙏🏼😀👍🏻💗🌸
This is blowing my mind! I can't believe I missed this the 1st time. Those flowers w/the different foils are insane! You've made me look at foils in a whole new light and now I feel I can do them. Wow!!!!
I try that technique a while ago, probably when the minc came out, I like to do it on vellum, and I use those scissors I HAVE been using THEM FOR YEARS!
Oh my.....I loved them all...My greedy art brain can't chose one! I love foiling....however your coloring those areas just added a whole new SWEET SUMMERY TWIST.
Hmm, I just tried this and it did not work! I was so hopeful! It did foil my embossing powder, but it foiled the paper around it too! I tried every setting on my Minc machine. So disappointed! I used 100lb card stock paper. What paper did you use Simon?
These cards are all beautiful. These foiling techniques seem easy enough. I shall definitely try these methods. I absolutely love the last card. Foiling then inking. Tone on tone gives a very subtle look to your card base. Thank you for another wonderful video 💖
The first and second ones were my favorite. The first due to the shading with the foiling and the second due to the different colors of foiling on the same card, that was really cool. Thank you so much for this great tip, esp since I had been debating getting a Hot Foil System.
This is such a game changer! While I don't have a Minc machine, I do have a laminator I use for toner foiling. I can't wait to play around and see if this technique works with that too. Thank you so much for showing this. I liked the 1st card you made with the slimline stamp and matching stencil set. So gorgeous.
I totally didn't know you could use your heat embossing ink and clear embossing powder in this way! I have tons of toner foil and thought I'd never be able to use them all. This is fantastic! Thank you!
Me too... I have like 20 rolls of the foil and the minc, even bought a cheap laser printer to use with it, but had no idea I could use it with embossing powders!
@@Indiartworks I have discovered it is kinda hit and miss with my success. I did it the first time with great results. Tried it again on a different occasion and my results were less than stellar. But I probably just need to play more with it.
Yep....learned this technique many many years ago...but it's not always all that successful. Found this technique better to used as highlights on a stamped image, then if it doesn't quite work, it really doesn't matter! Think about it, if it worked really well all the time, then we wouldn't have the Glimmer type machines which really do a beautiful job.
I did it the first time with great success, and then the next time, it looked like trash, but it is still worth giving tries. I love the idea of using it to highlight sentiments.
Thanks Simon, I love both cards, they are awesome. I love it, I don't have to investment the foiling machine and the dies to go with it. Spend my funds to something else. You are genius.
I haven't done any stamping in years. Seeing this has made me wonder why. I loved stamping and card making. I must re-create the space to do it!! Subscribed.
I can’t pick a fav they all were. My mind is blown 🤯 from all the tips & techniques in this video.. Young man I’ve watched you grow up and mature. You’re a very talented creative genius🤗
FANTASTIC video! You are a crafting genius, a prodigy! I have never seen anything like it. What a marvelous way to extend the application of supplies we already have : ). You are so talented and creative. Thanks for sharing with us. All of the cards you created are absolutely stunning.
I loved the last card you made. So so pretty with a piece of the green card stock stamped with that beautiful background stamp. All the cards you made were pretty! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
Wow, a couple minutes into your video and I have already learned two brand new things! I had no idea you could foil with embossing powder done on paper thru stamped images. That turned out amazing. This is truly a game changer in my mind. This allows us to use all of our stamps to foil with and that opens up a new inventory for me to foil with. I never ever thought to use a rotary cutter for foil as well. Brilliant!
I just saw this, and it’s a technique. I’m really wanting to get into. Thank you so much! I love this! I definitely need to follow you more! And I hope I can get all of the products. It is 2024, mid year and I hope everything still exists. Have a wonderful day!
You amaze me every time… love them all. I think the last one was my favorite. The tone on tone backgrounds really make the focal points pop. Great job as always!😎❤️
I love the last one and those are your stamps that I have ordered and will arrive tomorrow!! I can’t wait to try this technique!! Thanks @Simon Hurley!!

Sorry I for my last comment asking about the foiling machine. I didn’t check out you list if supplies. Your cards are so lovely
Simon, such pretty cards!
I have a Minc machine, but always using the toner method wasn't as easy as this. Thank you for your tips and tricks. Also, never thought to use my rotatory cutter for cutting the foil. Brilliant!
Fantastic cards...seems so simple, yet so beautiful. I'LL give it a try this evening. THANK YOU,
FYI: If you can't afford a MINC or any other tool, don't give up. I use my old iron. Works just fine.
How high do you turn up the iron?
Thank you! I was wondering if you could use an iron.😊
Beautiful cards. Loved all of them. All the way from ireland.
your last one was wonderful as they all were..... never wrong with flowers!
I am new to making cards. My jaw dropped so many times watching your video, which I watched 4 times.

Loved the trio of flowers
Look at you Simon getting in the foiling world. Nancy would be so proud. :) Very nice cards.

I so appreciate that you are totally technic driven, I forget sometimes that I knew one, then I see you doing it and want to go back and use my stuff
Omigosh I love this technique!
Thank you for demonstrating this clever foiling technique. I loved all the cards. Your ink pads are dynamic. The colors are so vibrant.
I try that technique a while ago, probably when the minc came out, I like to do it on vellum, and I use those scissors I HAVE been using THEM FOR YEARS!

This an amazing idea. I may just have to order my Minc machine now. Oh dear. Thanks so much.

Thank you Simon! I hadn't want To pull the plug on a foiling machine. You gave me inspiration
SOLD! Thank you! I didn't want to spend a ton on the Glimmer Foil system for a few foiled sentiments. This is a game changer for me!

That coloring on the flowers is amazing! I love that stamp/stencil combo! Great job!!
The rotary trimmer is a game changer! Thanks for all the inspiration, your cards are beautiful : )
OMGosh! Great technique!! very beautiful!!

I love the penquin card and this embossing technique is fabulous!!!
I love heat foiling with my Minc machine and your cards and techniques are beautiful.
This is such a game changer! While I don't have a Minc machine, I do have a laminator I use for toner foiling. I can't wait to play around and see if this technique works with that too. Sensational! Who knew that you could foil stamped images?! Thanks Simon for this video.
Love how you made the stencils more structurally sound, especially for inking. Some of my favourite stencils aren’t good for inking.
