Let me know if this is a technique you are going to try.
Love this . Can’t wait to try this technique
This is new to me and is a great idea, thank you for sharing 😀
Thank you! Have fun!
Hi I have only been watching your videos for a short time, I want to thank you for showing us all the tricks you have found. Thanks from Queensland Australia
Glad you like them! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! 🩷
OMG! I love the look of foiling but couldn’t start to afford the equipment for to do so. Thank you so much for showing this technique.
Glad it was helpful! If you try it out and want to share your creativity with us, come on over to Facebook at Village Card and Crafts.
Thanks for your lovely videos! I keep watching them despite how much I loathe Disney and its aesthetic. That you can pull me past that distaste is a big compliment to your clever ideas :)
Thank you!
😂lol the good the bad the ugly 2 cute but all was beautiful 😍 thanks so much for sharing 😊
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Lo ve your cards am going to try ,I’m in NZ
Thank you! If you try any of the cards, pls consider sharing them on my Facebook group. We would love to see what you create! 💕
I bought a sheet of glass (10x10”) at the hardware store and put masking tape on the edges. I taped graph paper on one side for a guide. I can glue, paint and stencil on the one side and clean up with an exacto knife and baby wipes. For glueing die cuts, I use scrapbooking double sided tape. Just remove the top sheet, apply your paper and cut it out. Remove back sheet and press down.
Excellent use of resources! Hand sanitizer is also great for removing glue from glass boards. Thanks for your tips! ❤️
I was searching how to do hot foil technique. Thank you for an affordable way to do it! It looks really great!
Thank you! 😊
I bought a second Minc machine; thinking that it was a fluke that the first one didn't work well at all. Wrong; the second one didn't work any better. I am so glad to have a way to use up all that foil I bought to use in a laminator. THANKS.
You’re welcome! I’m glad this video was helpful! 😊
Thanks for the tips on foiling. Watching replay from Kelowna, BC, Canada 🇨🇦
You are so welcome! It’s lovely knowing how far a video can reach someone! ❤️
Amazing effects, thanks so much for sharing.
I am from Bonnie Scotland 🏴
Hi Bonnie from Scotland! Thank you for watching 😊. I’m glad you liked it!
This is great, thanks so much! Same as you, I have metallic paper but don't want the pricey of the additional tools and products to get the same look. So appreciate the information and demo
Glad it was helpful!😊
Oh my goodness!!!!! You’re amazing! Thank you so much for this video! I’m so glad I found your channel!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad it was helpful! ❤️
You're a great instructor. Thanks for sharing this.
Glad it was helpful! You’re comment really made my day! Thank you!
All lovely cards!
Thank you much! 🩷
🥰 Loved all that you shared in this video. Thanks so Much
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching! 😎
I am thrilled to have found your hack! I am a beginning card maker and was a bit overwhelmed by the huge cost of all the gadgets and machines. When I finally get a die cutter I know now that I won't have to get a toilet too.
Thank you! This is not a cheap hobby that’s for sure! However, there are lots of ways to use what you have to achieve a similar look. I love foil, but cannot justify the cost of all the dies needed to achieve the look. I have a bunch of videos for beginners as well as options for foiling. Have fun crafting! 💕
Thanks for the simplistic tip and you can't go wrong with "Hot Glue Lou" Collins. Both of ya'll keep your hints simple and all you need at hand. No having to wait for you to find stuff. Thanks./
Thanks for watching! 🩷
I will be giving this a try!
Excellent! 💕
Thanks for the inspiration. I don't have the foiling papers yet....but I just may get some after watching your video. Will check out more of your videos.
You are so welcome! Any metallic cardstock will work for you. I appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch! 😊
Great!! I have a laminator but not the hot foil machine!! I don’t have a printer that does toner so the laminator is limited!!
This will be so fun to try!! Thanks for sharing! ❤❤
You and I have the same things….well the laminator is my mothers, but I’m borrowing it for the time being.
I admit I probably won’t do this, because I like the raised look. But I always enjoy seeing new techniques!
Thank you for watching!
I can't justify the cost of hotfoiling, which is besuti5🎉ful. However, I can see there are good alternatives. So, thank you so much for your demonstration in this video. I'm thankful to be able to use foils in an inventive, inexpensive way. 🌹🇨🇦🌹
As much as I love the look of hot foiling, I can’t justify the cost either. I’m so happy you enjoyed the video! 💕
Love this thank you so much for sharing 🥰❤🤗
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Just come across your Chanel . Love what you did with the foil effect . Thank you, I will be watching out for some more tips. I live in Australia . 🎉

Thank you so much for these ideas for faux foiling! I especially loved the Christmas tree card with the background you had! This is my first time on your channel and I definitely will be back. Subscribed so I won’t miss any of your videos? ☺️
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the videos 😊
Thank you, I am glad there are ways you can foil without a laminator as, it is touch and go.
Glad it was helpful!
These are really neat, thank you for taking the time to try them all out and share them. They all came out so good that I'm going to have to try them out. My machine didn't come with a rubber mat or a metal shim, I'm guessing you have the bigger one, but the cork technique sounds great I'll have to get one.
Thank you very much! I have the Spellbinders Platinum 6 which is the small of those machine. It did come with the rubber mat, however at one point I put the mat away and couldn’t find it. Of course as soon as I ordered a replacement, I found it. 🤷🏼♀️. I bought the sheet of cork for something entirely different, but I works perfectly for this. I purchased it in the craft section at Dollar Tree. Have fun with this!
Looks interesting, TFS! I’ll have to give it a try.
Please do! I actually picked up some beautiful foil paper to do more. 😊
Thanks, love you ideas
Thank you very much! 💕
New subscriber here ... somehow your video popped up in my suggested list, and I love it! I also see you've exceeded your target of subscribers, so congratulations 🎉. I'm wondering what it would look like if the cover plate was used on the background panel with the tan mat first to make an impression, and then glue the cutout over that impression. I'll try these out when 7 month old grandson isn't taking all my time and energy 😂
Welcome! Thank you so much for subscribing! Give it a try and let me know. Come over to our little group on Facebook and show us. We would love to see it! My second grand daughter will be making her way into this world in less than a month. So exciting! ❤️
That's exactly what I expected her to do first!
Great job and much cheaper e erroneous who Crafts has a die cutting machine.👍❤️
Thank you! ❤️
Ooo ... C L E V E R use of CORK!!
Thanks! I have a few backups just in case I can’t find any when I need to replace it. 😊
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Thank you so much for tagging me! ❤
Thank you for providing fabulous inspiration! ❤️
Thank you so much for this wonderful technique, I’m going to be trying this right away 😊
You are so welcome! I’d love to see your finished product. Join us on Facebook at Village card and crafts so you can post them.
I just found your channel, and is was great! Now, I will try this way of having foiled cards. Thank you❤
Awesome! Thank you!
So glad you found Lou’s channel, she’s terrific! And Thank You for showing these experiments! Artist Tac is phenomenal stuff!! 🧑🏼🎨😀
You are so welcome and I totally agree! She’s great and artist tac is awesome stuff!
I enjoyed this video.
Excellent! Thank you!
ALL THINGS DISNEY??? you're my girl lol!! thanks for this video
Always! Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
To use your foil you can run your cardstock through a 3D embossing folder. Use your makeup sponge an sponge on the white glue. I use Deco foil lay it over the glued area and rub!!! Turns out pretty darn cool. I don't like the Tombow "green" glue because it remains sticky. I made a card with that and a year later it was still tacky!!!! Yep. Have fun!!!!
Yes that is definitely another way! Thank you!
Clever! I only use the green glue when I want a removable adhesive. Otherwise everything is sticky
So what glue do you use pls?
Depends on the situation, but my primary glue is Bearly Arts Precision Craft Glue. At times I use Ranger Multi Medium Matt. I love using Artist Tac micro dots for small die cuts. I believe I’ve included links to those products in my description , if you would like a closer look.
❤
I’m wondering if the type of paper/cardstock that is the base (that the mirror cardstock is glued to) makes a difference with how much the die cuts get smooshed in (technical term 😊). What did you use? And thanks!
Great question! I use Recollections (Michael’s) brand 65# cardstock for my layers. I currently use Accent Opaque 100# (271 gsm) for my bases. I have not tried it on my heavier card. If you do, let me know what you think!
This is very interesting! You said "foil cardstock". Is this a lightweight cardstock & not actually foiling sheets? I have some Cardstock in silver that would be nice diecut deco corners to try.
Correct! I am NOT using foil sheets. I’ve used metallic cardstock for all of this. I hope you give it a try and have fun!
I have the we r memory keepers.foil.also. what are you going to do with those?
I’m waiting for bonding powder to become available again from scrapbook.com. That way you can stamp the image and coat in bonding powder. Melt it as you would embossing powder then use the foil over the melted powder.
Do you have a specific day or time you post?
Hi! I try to post on the weekend. This video I managed to get out on Friday, but generally either Saturday or Sunday. Do you have a preference?
@@villagecardandcrafts no preference unless you are doing lives and looking for participation.
Thank you! I haven’t done Lives yet…someday perhaps! Let me know if there is something else you’re like to see. I’m always looking for inspiration 😊
Was it no foil machine or any machine??
No foil machine.
So, you still need a machine for it. Not all that cheap after all.
Hello! A foiling machine adds a big cost and takes up additional space. Using what most card makers have (a die cutting machine) allows us to use what we already have for an additional technique. You can use double sided tape to create lines/ stripes and place foil on top of the adhesive. Additionally, you can use a tacky glue (one that leaves a tacky surface upon drying) to freehand or “color” with it. Once dry, rub your foil on top. No machine needed for those two techniques, but you will not get similar results to my video technique or true foiling. I hope this helps!
so messy
I’m sorry. I’m not sure what you are referring to.
