I know it would be frustrating for a lot of fans to see her do Plagueis and potentially ruin him, but I think there's something ironic and poetic about it. An entity (Plagueis/Disney/Headland) becomes proud and arrogant in their position and in turn underestimates their problems and is blind to their downfall. Plagueis' story is a perfect analogy to Disney Star Wars right now.

I know I've already commented, but just re-watched this again. I absolutely do not want this woman touching Plagueis or Palpatine. These are two characters whose stories should be told by someone who respects and understands the lore and how Star Wars works, at minimum. Disney is hellbent on destroying Star Wars as we know it, so it's a given that Headland and her merry band of nuts will be allowed to decimate these iconic characters, but I'm going to detest every second of it.

None of this is cannon to me. They can make whatever show they want with a $180 billion dollar budget even, but if its a bad story with bad characters and ruins the good existing characters its not legitimate in my eyes.
I don't think a season 2 will happen unless it is made out of spite. This series is the most hated, the least watched, and the least profitable, which is the most important to these people. There will not be any money for a 2nd season in any way.
Disney will find a way to finance it. The profits Disney get is mostly all from selling garbage at disneyland, and even this garbage show will allow them to sell junk at the parks.

I fantasize that they give Tony Gilroy most Star Wars projects. All he really needs is to add more aliens and some light saber fights which the lack of those things were most of the main complaints of Andor, which ironically we got in acolyte. I honestly didn’t understand how people thought there should have been saber fights in Andor when it was focused on the creation of the rebellion and if they really knew Star Wars they’d know that any of the Jedi that survived order 66 were in hiding.
He could go Andor style and call it Plagueis or Palpatine but the whole thing is actually about the machinations of the banking clan, the Naboo elite, and the Senate, with Plagueis and Palpatine still at the core but not the primary focus. Just like Andor is actually about the figures in the shadows on both the Rebellion and the Empire.

I think the chance of there being a season 2 is slim to none. Remember, Iger had already stated that they are moving away from the idea of social experimentation and concentrating on better stories. This before the Acolyte was released. They should have taken a cue from Warner Brothers with Batgirl and shelved the Acolyte. I give the Mandalorian movie a 50/50 chance of getting back on track.

One thing that baffles me about this show is that they had a full-on writers room. Most SW shows aren't written like that and some only have 1-2 writers. Andor had a writers room and you could tell that there were multiple minds there to bounce ideas off of and that resulted in finding the best ideas and filtering out the bad ones. I don't know how the Acolyte did this but somehow resulted in so many gaps in logic and shortcomings in storytelling. If a season two were made, I think the only way it could be done is fundamentally changing the writing process or the people in that process so that it can be brought to a higher standard. Although at that point it may as well be a new show.

I totally agree that if she touches the story of Palpatine, they'll most likely f... it up. I generally see Darth Plagueis almost on the same level as Darth Bane Path of Destruction as being two of the best SW books of all time. I think the best way to tell the story of Plagueis and Palpatine would be through a Tales of the Sith series by Dave Filoni, as he actually knows and understands Lucas' vision. Despite the fact that I did enjoy some bits and pieces of The Acolyte, there are a ton of problems with it which you pointed out well. I think many of them arise from the fact that Headland has seen the movies and read a bit, but doesn't understand the entire lore and it really would have helped if she'd read at least some of the now Legends books. As a story, the Acolyte would have had great potential, even with some of the questionable elements, like the twins being conceived through magic and stuff like that. However, the execution messed things up so much that I just watch it for bits and pieces, not for the story itself.
The whole three sentences says "If I get to continue this story", which she wont. Nor does she confirm that she would include Plagueis, only that it would be complicated which means it wouldn't happen.
To quote ki adi mundi from the phantom menace he said “the sith have been extinct for a millennium.” Right now there is no direct evidence to suggest that kamir is a sith other than he wields a red lightsaber which any dark side force user can do.

They also didn't destroy Kiadi. The point was that him and Mace Windu were wrong. They Sith were always still around. I think the main point of the Acolyte was that the "bad guy" saw a crack in the foundation and wanted to drive a wedge into it, to weaken the structure when they had such a great opportunity to do so, and then that crack gets getting bigger and bigger until it all comes crashing down 100 years later.
There wont be a second season not if the fans have anything to say about it. The show is currently at 14% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its not happening.
Why? Bad writing and dialog don't break canon. It's just one series of many and so far nothing has happened to affect the canon in any way. In the finale, soul is brought around the corner, Lord Trenerbous comes by briefly, chases after osha and Mai and "first Ren" flees and narrowly escapes. Finale of the series. I think it will be quite good :)

As a lifelong fan, I really don’t think they’re ruining everything! Retcons happen when ownership changes. I think the fandom took a poor turn after RoS (which the sequels were pretty terrible) and Theory now just fuels the channel on manufactured outrage. I think it’s intentional that Ki Adi is here and maybe that his line in PM is a lie. Anakin turns to the dark side because the Jedi are corrupt, and I think the Acolyte has done a fantastic job at showing us the order as a whole not just the best high council members, and how nearly a millennium of peace made the order weak and the Jedi arrogant. I think the force cults existing opens doors to good new lore, and I think Hedland is doing an alright job of showing how messy this can be. Still think Qimir is likely emulating the Sith but may not be the Sith Lord in power. Would love to see him and any witnessing Jedi cut down and disposed of by Tenebrous or someone. Even if events are changed, and we get Plagueis in live action and he’s true to the character BY THE END OF THE SERIES I think that’s great. I liked Kenobi, think it was logical for him to feel defeated and cut himself off after the loss of Anakin and the order. The events of the Kenobi show and threat to Luke are what refocus him, so that he is the Master we know from the OT by the time Maul shows up on tattooine. I think we as a fanbase need to be more open to flawed and imperfect characters and appreciate their journey. That’s relatable.

It is highly doubtful Disney's money laundering scheme given to lesbian headband, more accurately titled generic space battles in space starring desperate actors in need of a paycheck, will be getting a season 2.
Disney should just cancel everything and fund complete animation for all the cut Clone Wars episodes with like movie quality. Actually just super cut the entirety of Star Wars the Clone Wars (including cut episodes) into a 36 hour cinematic experience. Re-animating everything with a stuoid higher budget (put that 180m to good use) and cutting some of the fad (worse episodes). This is mostly a joke, but I truly think bringing back the Clone Wars into an omnibus style movie would be a better use of their time and budget. Everything the Acolyte has promised to do (showcase more of the sith and dark side of force, show the hubris of the Jedi, explain why the Jedi are wary of emotions, explain Anakin's fall better, etc) had already been done in Clone Wars. Seriously this is a major problem with modern Disney. I don't think anyone asks "why are we making this" anymore. And why does this show exist? Over a hundred million dollars was poured into it. That's more money than most people will earn in their lifetimes. And just why? It doesn't feel like it's for anyone and it certainly doesn't feel like it's adding new ideas to Star Wars or exploring old ones in new ways. Disney needs to understand that just because it's Star Wars and Star Wars is popular isn't a good enough reason. It's something a good writer has to constantly ask themselves "why does this need to exist; why do other people need to experience it?" it could be a stupid niche audience but it still needs that basic direction. Otherwise if a story is just written for "you" then that's called fan fiction (at least in the context of an established franchise like star wars) and you know there's nothing wrong with fan fiction. Writing stories about our favorite characters just for us is something I hope everyone does. However, when it comes to Disney spending nearly 200m and putting the story out as Canon on a service people pay a pretty penny a month for, there needs to be a reason why it NEEDS to exist.

Most other major western film studios are in financial trouble such as Paramount and Warner Bros and I wouldn't trust the few studios who could afford it when it comes to the quality of their live action content such as NETFLIX and SONY. Also I know Elon has nothing to do with film but he said Star Wars is his favourite film and has the funds to set up a studio or finance the films to be made independently like George did and a studio such as Warner Bros, SONY, Lionsgate or even Disney could distribute them. Now though Disney will get a fair bit of profit from selling the rights to Star Wars. They're playing the long game with it and keeping a hold of hold of the rights and milking it dry until. An they won't stop unless it become financially unviable to make more Star Wars content because they've made it unpopular. Though even then they're unlikely to sell their rights as Disney is notorious for never selling let alone sharing their toys ehrn IP. They know the value of it amd that any IP can be made to be multi millions if not billions. Another reasom why they will hold onto the IP is because it means they can just do a remake or reboot the franchise somehow if things go wrong.

I absolutely do not want this woman touching Plagueis or Palpatine. These are two characters whose stories should be told by someone who respects and understands the lore and how Star Wars works, at minimum.
Disney is hellbent on destroying Star Wars as we know it, so it's a given that Headland and her merry band of nuts will be allowed to decimate these iconic characters, but I'm going to detest every second of it.

I don't think a season 2 will happen unless it is made out of spite. This series is the most hated, the least watched, and the least profitable, which is the most important to these people. There will not be any money for a 2nd season in any way.

I fantasize that they give Tony Gilroy most Star Wars projects. All he really needs is to add more aliens and some light saber fights which the lack of those things were most of the main complaints of Andor, which ironically we got in acolyte. I honestly didn’t understand how people thought there should have been saber fights in Andor when it was focused on the creation of the rebellion and if they really knew Star Wars they’d know that any of the Jedi that survived order 66 were in hiding.
He could go Andor style and call it Plagueis or Palpatine but the whole thing is actually about the machinations of the banking clan, the Naboo elite, and the Senate, with Plagueis and Palpatine still at the core but not the primary focus.
Just like Andor is actually about the figures in the shadows on both the Rebellion and the Empire.

I think the chance of there being a season 2 is slim to none. Remember, Iger had already stated that they are moving away from the idea of social experimentation and concentrating on better stories. This before the Acolyte was released. They should have taken a cue from Warner Brothers with Batgirl and shelved the Acolyte. I give the Mandalorian movie a 50/50 chance of getting back on track.
They are moving away of voicing it publicly, not of doing it.
Yeah, I don't think Lucasfilm or Disney even know how to make stories without social commentary, much less better ones. If they were going to do that, they would have done it with The Acolyte. One thing that baffles me about this show is that they had a full-on writers room. Most SW shows aren't written like that and some only have 1-2 writers. Andor had a writers room and you could tell that there were multiple minds there to bounce ideas off of and that resulted in finding the best ideas and filtering out the bad ones. I don't know how the Acolyte did this but somehow resulted in so many gaps in logic and shortcomings in storytelling.
If a season two were made, I think the only way it could be done is fundamentally changing the writing process or the people in that process so that it can be brought to a higher standard. Although at that point it may as well be a new show.

I totally agree that if she touches the story of Palpatine, they'll most likely f... it up. I generally see Darth Plagueis almost on the same level as Darth Bane Path of Destruction as being two of the best SW books of all time. I think the best way to tell the story of Plagueis and Palpatine would be through a Tales of the Sith series by Dave Filoni, as he actually knows and understands Lucas' vision. Despite the fact that I did enjoy some bits and pieces of The Acolyte, there are a ton of problems with it which you pointed out well. I think many of them arise from the fact that Headland has seen the movies and read a bit, but doesn't understand the entire lore and it really would have helped if she'd read at least some of the now Legends books. As a story, the Acolyte would have had great potential, even with some of the questionable elements, like the twins being conceived through magic and stuff like that. However, the execution messed things up so much that I just watch it for bits and pieces, not for the story itself.
Darth Plagueis is one of my favorite books of all time. Leave it alone Disney

✅ Mature, nuanced and grounded story similar to Andor but with the mysticism of the Dark Side. In-depth look at Sith philosophy as we follow a master/apprentice two vs an entire galaxy story.
✅ Well-written Sith protagonists part of a two-person organization in a thousand-year conspiracy to upset the Galactic status-quo.
✅ New Star Wars timeline.

They also didn't destroy Kiadi. The point was that him and Mace Windu were wrong. They Sith were always still around. I think the main point of the Acolyte was that the "bad guy" saw a crack in the foundation and wanted to drive a wedge into it, to weaken the structure when they had such a great opportunity to do so, and then that crack gets getting bigger and bigger until it all comes crashing down 100 years later.
There wont be a second season not if the fans have anything to say about it. The show is currently at 14% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its not happening.

Why? Bad writing and dialog don't break canon. It's just one series of many and so far nothing has happened to affect the canon in any way. In the finale, soul is brought around the corner, Lord Trenerbous comes by briefly, chases after osha and Mai and "first Ren" flees and narrowly escapes. Finale of the series. I think it will be quite good :)

Neither the issue with the Siths, except for soul and the twins nobody knows anything about qimir and currently it looks like the jedis think that soul has gone crazy. Nor anything about Anakin or the age of Ki adi mundi (there was no indication of this in the canon).

As a lifelong fan, I really don’t think they’re ruining everything! Retcons happen when ownership changes. I think the fandom took a poor turn after RoS (which the sequels were pretty terrible) and Theory now just fuels the channel on manufactured outrage.
I think it’s intentional that Ki Adi is here and maybe that his line in PM is a lie. Anakin turns to the dark side because the Jedi are corrupt, and I think the Acolyte has done a fantastic job at showing us the order as a whole not just the best high council members, and how nearly a millennium of peace made the order weak and the Jedi arrogant.
I think the force cults existing opens doors to good new lore, and I think Hedland is doing an alright job of showing how messy this can be. Still think Qimir is likely emulating the Sith but may not be the Sith Lord in power. Would love to see him and any witnessing Jedi cut down and disposed of by Tenebrous or someone.
Even if events are changed, and we get Plagueis in live action and he’s true to the character BY THE END OF THE SERIES I think that’s great. I liked Kenobi, think it was logical for him to feel defeated and cut himself off after the loss of Anakin and the order. The events of the Kenobi show and threat to Luke are what refocus him, so that he is the Master we know from the OT by the time Maul shows up on tattooine.
I think we as a fanbase need to be more open to flawed and imperfect characters and appreciate their journey. That’s relatable.

Disney should just cancel everything and fund complete animation for all the cut Clone Wars episodes with like movie quality. Actually just super cut the entirety of Star Wars the Clone Wars (including cut episodes) into a 36 hour cinematic experience. Re-animating everything with a stuoid higher budget (put that 180m to good use) and cutting some of the fad (worse episodes). This is mostly a joke, but I truly think bringing back the Clone Wars into an omnibus style movie would be a better use of their time and budget. Everything the Acolyte has promised to do (showcase more of the sith and dark side of force, show the hubris of the Jedi, explain why the Jedi are wary of emotions, explain Anakin's fall better, etc) had already been done in Clone Wars.
Seriously this is a major problem with modern Disney. I don't think anyone asks "why are we making this" anymore. And why does this show exist? Over a hundred million dollars was poured into it. That's more money than most people will earn in their lifetimes. And just why? It doesn't feel like it's for anyone and it certainly doesn't feel like it's adding new ideas to Star Wars or exploring old ones in new ways. Disney needs to understand that just because it's Star Wars and Star Wars is popular isn't a good enough reason. It's something a good writer has to constantly ask themselves "why does this need to exist; why do other people need to experience it?" it could be a stupid niche audience but it still needs that basic direction. Otherwise if a story is just written for "you" then that's called fan fiction (at least in the context of an established franchise like star wars) and you know there's nothing wrong with fan fiction. Writing stories about our favorite characters just for us is something I hope everyone does. However, when it comes to Disney spending nearly 200m and putting the story out as Canon on a service people pay a pretty penny a month for, there needs to be a reason why it NEEDS to exist.

Elon and Amazon could. Most other major western film studios are in financial trouble such as Paramount and Warner Bros and I wouldn't trust the few studios who could afford it when it comes to the quality of their live action content such as NETFLIX and SONY.
Also I know Elon has nothing to do with film but he said Star Wars is his favourite film and has the funds to set up a studio or finance the films to be made independently like George did and a studio such as Warner Bros, SONY, Lionsgate or even Disney could distribute them. Now though Disney will get a fair bit of profit from selling the rights to Star Wars. They're playing the long game with it and keeping a hold of hold of the rights and milking it dry until. An they won't stop unless it become financially unviable to make more Star Wars content because they've made it unpopular. Though even then they're unlikely to sell their rights as Disney is notorious for never selling let alone sharing their toys ehrn IP. They know the value of it amd that any IP can be made to be multi millions if not billions. Another reasom why they will hold onto the IP is because it means they can just do a remake or reboot the franchise somehow if things go wrong.
