My thoughts on this woman are she set out to reimagine George Lucas' vision as her own for Star Wars, but in the process she destroyed what was once a multi billion dollar franchise. She used the Sequel Trilogy as a retelling of the Original Trilogy, one that ruined the legacies of Luke, Leia and Han, just so she could have her overpowered Mary Sue become the one to rebuild the Jedi Order. The only reason we've been stuck with Kennedy is a clause in her contract, put there by George, that states she can not be held accountable for the failures of Lucasfilm. It was intended to protect Lucasfilm employees against Disney just getting rid of them once it took over. This is why her contract renewal has always been a big issue. Once she is gone, the next studio head will not have the same contract and will be held accountable. Depending on who gets picked first, we're likely going to see a few people in the role. It's going to be a tall order for whoever is next because of the state in which Star Wars is in. Not only do they have to try to get it back on track and repair faith with the audience, they have to do it without any protection from their contracts.

I think for Lucasfilm to be successful again, they need to designate a president who actually knows the source material and has the ability to create. KK was always a producer and had no creative input in her career, so she might not have even understood how the Acolyte or the Last Jedi disrespected everything that came before. While Dave Filoni is the most obvious choice for the job, I think he has proven that he is not the best story teller for star wars (Ashoka is proof enough of this). What made Star Wars successful in the first place was George going against what Hollywood was telling movies to put out and make his own story. We need someone with that attitude who still respects what George made.
Regarding Dave Filoni and The Acolyte - Filoni was made CCO way after Acolyte was already in preproduction / production. Acolyte was very much a Kathleen Kennedy project and I doubt Filoni had much involvement in an already in production project as he was CCO after Acolyte was already in progress so he couldn’t do anything. I think Filoni was CCO in Nov 2023, and Acolyte filmed end of 2022 to middle of 2023. Disney is just using his name to either scapegoat him or use his name to get Filoni fans to tune into the Acolyte! Just my 2cents!

Can everybody just stop? There is no way for Star Wars to ever win again. you can’t even retcon everything that’s been done into making sense at this point. We have the originals and a couple of shining moments afterwards that really don’t mount too much.
The only reason we've been stuck with Kennedy is a clause in her contract, put there by George, that states she can not be held accountable for the failures of Lucasfilm. It was intended to protect Lucasfilm employees against Disney just getting rid of them once it took over. This is why her contract renewal has always been a big issue.
Once she is gone, the next studio head will not have the same contract and will be held accountable. Depending on who gets picked first, we're likely going to see a few people in the role. It's going to be a tall order for whoever is next because of the state in which Star Wars is in. Not only do they have to try to get it back on track and repair faith with the audience, they have to do it without any protection from their contracts.

Andor/rogue One and Mando are the only projects that feel as simple as, give it to proven filmmakers who ACTUALLY love the source material, let them cook, let them plan things out, ACTUALLY direct the actors and put all the love you can into the actual project not anything outside of it.

I think for Lucasfilm to be successful again, they need to designate a president who actually knows the source material and has the ability to create. KK was always a producer and had no creative input in her career, so she might not have even understood how the Acolyte or the Last Jedi disrespected everything that came before.
While Dave Filoni is the most obvious choice for the job, I think he has proven that he is not the best story teller for star wars (Ashoka is proof enough of this).
What made Star Wars successful in the first place was George going against what Hollywood was telling movies to put out and make his own story. We need someone with that attitude who still respects what George made.
Regarding Dave Filoni and The Acolyte - Filoni was made CCO way after Acolyte was already in preproduction / production. Acolyte was very much a Kathleen Kennedy project and I doubt Filoni had much involvement in an already in production project as he was CCO after Acolyte was already in progress so he couldn’t do anything. I think Filoni was CCO in Nov 2023, and Acolyte filmed end of 2022 to middle of 2023. Disney is just using his name to either scapegoat him or use his name to get Filoni fans to tune into the Acolyte! Just my 2cents!

Plus, he's stated that, only until very recently, has he been put in a position where he can be "within the room" , when something is being first conceived. He wasn't even a major presence during the creative process for the (supposedly) upcoming, New Jedi Order/Rey Movie. He just briefly sat in on the writers room session, then left. Again, that project was a conception of Ms. Kathy Kennedy. Word to the wise: Did you see Dave Filoni's name ANYWHERE on the end credits for, The Acolyte's 8 episodes? If he was so central to its creation and execution, why is his name missing (but, Pablo Hidalgo's is ever-present)?
