It goes a bit further than that IMO. Some people feel so desperate to be either the main character or at the very least are desperate to have people pay attention to them that they feel the need to have an outlandish personality. To be quite frank, I view myself as someone with little to no personality. I'm a very reserved guy, quite a bland guy If I'm being honest, yet I don't feel the need to wear my sexuality or emotional struggles as an identifying patch. It's a combination of narcissism and a bland personality, with some other isms tossed in there.

No, I can definitely separate the two different voices.
That line is said specifically by Palpatine. Whereas the one I remember was said by Padme.

There is a Darth Plagueis novel that is highly acclaimed. They could have just used that as a blueprint to write a proper script and it would have worked out great.

If anyone at Disney Star Wars could actually write, there's a great story in all of this, where you have multiple Sith apprentices undermining each other to eliminate their competition and eventually Sidious wins out and kills his master to become a Sith Lord.
Alas, no one at Disney can write.
Only problem there is that if they're all Plagueis' apprentices, that breaks the rule of two, and as Sideous showed in the Clone Wars, there is only one reason that a good Sith Lord would let a runaway apprentice live and that is because the master still deems them as useful. As cool as your idea is, I'm not sure how one could explain why Plagueis let so many of his renegade students run around without killing any of them.
If someone could come up with an answer for that, though... having a show following Sideous as an apprentice living two lives, one as Senator Palpatine acquiring power and influence in the senate, and one as Sith Apprentice Sideous hunting down his master's other students so he can kill them and his master before they do... that would definitely be cool... Very cool indeed.

I graduated high-school over a decade ago and no one gave a crap if you were gay back then or what your race was. Yes, there was the stress of “coming out” and parents not accepting it, but among peers (aside from a few lone jerkwads) no one gave a damn.

The SECOND you get out of high-school/college age they flip the script and call your generation the horrible one (and every one before it) even though you know damn well it isn’t. It’s pretty shocking talking to some teens and early 20s that are CONVINCED 90% of the class of 1995, 2007, or shoot, even 2015 were a bunch of racist, anti-gay pricks. You’ve been conned. You won the war over 30 years ago; the politicians are just keeping it alive.

Because Leslie Headland was basically writing her own life and personal issues into a *Star Wars Story* that's what we've come to now. Kathy Kennedy got wind of Leslie Headland from a video clip where she's kissing Kennedy's behind, saying - "plz Queen Kennedy, can I make a starwars series." And KK agreed, and when Leslie pitched her idea at Lucasfilm, Kennedy even told her to "make it your own personal story so Leslie did; while subverting *Lore* as you say. Here is a quote from Leslie Headland herself talking (to the New York times) about what exactly inspired her when writing the twins of Osha & Mae and inserting her own Family Drama into the show.
"I have a very strained relationship with my youngest sister, and I feel like one of the reasons it is strained is that we both see each other as the bad guy."
"And if I was going to tell a story about bad guys, it seemed to me that the place to start should be a familial relationship where one person is adamantly convinced of her correctness and the other person is also adamantly convinced of her correctness," she continued. "We don't speak. I think this will be a surprise to her."
So what it seems like here is Leslie only really cares about sending a message to her sister, and her begging "Queen Kennedy" to allow her to make her own starwars series (costing upward of $180m), would allow Leslie Headland to use a hugely popular, beloved franchise, to basically drive that message home to her sister. the fallout between the siblings having something to do with Leslie coming out and her sister being against that.
I'm just glad I never bothered to watch this show because from the moment it was announced bout 3 yrs ago, in some random article that never gave any synopsis, just only that it would be the first starwars series to have a "Non-Binary actor" in the lead role." And then once I learned Leslie Headland was attached as showrunner, looking up who she was and her resume, I had a bad feeling it would be somekind of hot mess and nothing really to do with actual *Star Wars*.
Im seeing so many videos of people trying to work out what the Acolyte is from a purely starwars Lore perspective and none of it will ever make sense because Headland has just used the IP to write her own family issues as therapy, which has resulted in nothing more than some 50 shades fanfiction in space. And the worst thing here is Kathy Kennedy and Lucasfilm allowed her to do this, all because Headland is a rainbow person that is of the very small demographic that Disney (and Hollywood) right now keep heavily pandering to for all that DEI purpose.
Have you saw the Par1s Olympic gam3 opening ceremony? I'm beginning to believe they are heavily pushing this skittles ideology into Everything now, and those people most of them have some serious issues; they see the world from a purely immoral viewpoint, "Do as thou Wilt" is their mantra; and just look at how Headland has wrote characters in her Acolyte, *Subverting* things to where the "Heroes" are BAD and the actual "Villains" in her eyes are GOOD. The problem with the Plagueis reveal is that the rule of two was built more for the master than the apprentice. That's why when an apprentice has their own apprentice or acolyte, they have to hide them from their master.
Bane detested the politics of the Sith Lords and how multiple lesser Sith could overthrow a more powerful Sith. With the rule of two, it ensures a lesser Sith can't overtake the more powerful Sith Lord. You have to become more powerful than the Sith Lord to take their position.
So seeing his apprecitice with an acolyte would mean the next step is Plagueis killing Osha, as well as likely Qimir as well, due to breaking the rule.
The only story line I see for season 2 is Plagueis killing Osha & Qimir, which would be completely unrelated to the Jedi story, but could maybe fix the Sith part, at least to some degree. I have no idea how the Jedi storyline can be salvaged. They basically established the Jedi as a bunch of overly dramatic, conniving, backstabbing, bumbling fools. Then you have Yodi knows and lies, or Yoda doesn't know, 'cause you can lie to his face and he's too much of an idiot to realize it. I don't know how you fix the Jedi for season 2. Headland seems determined to make the Jedi the villains of her story.
Then where is Darth tenebrous Darth plagueis master so unless they put it into Legends he died in 80 BBY he is still alive by this point in canon. So now we have four not two sith running around under the neglectful senses of Grand Master Yoda who cannot sense them yet roughly 100 years later he could sense order 66.

I don't like this show, but smilo being a sith was like...stated in literally episode 5. And Plagueis spying on them isn't out of character, he knows they can't stop him, just like palpatine knew Vader couldn't stop him when he plotted against him, or when Dooku trained Ventress. It's natural for sith to try and betray their master, and for the master to find out some of the attempts

Plagueis' wasn't looking for an apprentice till he came across Palpatine and even then, he had no idea of Palpatine's force sensitivity till Palpatine confessed that he killed his entire family, and only then was he intrigued. Plagueis was much more focused on his research and Damask Holdings as that is literally his cover, he has no time to be standing around in caves spying on people like this, it would've been much more in character for him to be watching the witches create life (which was also BS btw and just screams self insert fanfic, there's a reason people get upset when you try to roleplay an Anakin-type character in rp) at least THAT would've shown some resemblance of sense and care for some of the story. Tell me you don't understand the character without telling me.

When I said out of character, i mean out of character for a sith. Watching Osha's corruption (for whose birth he might even be responsible for) is most certainly in character, as it would place him in the perfect spot to kill Qimir and take her.
Yes, the Plagueis novel was great, but it's no longer canon. There's a new story being told, and it shouldn't be judged by its accuracy to the old material, but rather the quality itself. I don't like this story myself either, but not because it doesn't exactly follow the novel.

The only explanation for all these story additions is because Leslye and every writer didn't think about this when making the show. All these interviews just show how badly the show was made, if it wasn't presented in the show but only after the fact, just to try and make things "work." It's like how every sequel trilogy movie got a book right after to explain things, only for the next movie to retcon and rewrite it, only to do the book again and then retconned. There is no over arching story, only a small section but somehow this section affects the rest of the universe.

Nobody was running around with secret apprentices in the clone wars. Palpatine knew about both Savage and Ventress and being trained doesn't make them a true apprentice, after all Grevious was trained by Dooku as well. They considered them all assassins and nothing more. The closest we got to a true "secret" apprentice was Dooku considering going against palps when he saw how strong Savage was but even that was fleeting at best.
