One thing that was not mentioned was the reason the "how to get into heaven" page was blank was because Bill said the writing would be invisible to people with sinful thoughts. So it's not that he doesn't believe in heaven. It's that he thinks we are all freaks.

okay so basically the oracle/"jessie" didnt date bill. she became too powerful and found out a way to defeat bill. we see this in journal 3 when the oracle gives ford the metal plate in his head, she know how to block him out of the mindscape.
YES! Finally someone said it! The fact that the vid doesn't explain the crossed paragraph about The Oracle itches my brain so much. Not only that, she figured out how the portals work and transferred the Hechmaniacs far away from Bill. I hope they better explain it in the next video cuz the Oracle ex theory doesn't have a good foundation

Me and my friends were going on a trip through Oregon, and one of my friends (Jamcat) picked up the book of bill. The next day we went through Salem, and then thunderstorms started, I got sick, and we had trouble navigating through the city. A few days later, Jamcat found a part in the book where Bill Cipher says to "look out for his work in Salem."
Bill deadass tried to ruin our trip.

My friend brought the book of bill at school, and when we summoned bill in the book, a ,ouple minutes later, the lights. Went. Out.
Everyone celebrated because people thought we were gonna go home, but the teachers kept us in school, and instead of going home early. Everything was just really, really, hot. And the lights turned to life.
Bill gave us hope, and decided to rip it out of our hands.

Something that people should know is that basically nothing in this video is new. The book's been decoded by many, many folks over on reddit and discord, and someone on Twitter's video on the silly string pages- around the 18:00 mark- has been used without credit.

The Book of Bill literally displays the relationship between Bill and Ford as being more than a friendship multiple times in the lost Journal 3 pages, with Bill often being shown as Ford’s abuser in what can only be described as a situationship. You should learn to differentiate a farmer/livestock relationship with what you want to be true. Bill treats him as a beloved lamb of a flock(victims), and Ford treats him as a beholder of vast wisdom. The way Bill has always treated Ford goes against literally anything that would imply this as true. A better comparison of this is how you had a favorite toy that you used until it broke. The only way they could be "exes" is in a non-romantic way, like Joker and Batman, which is a surprisingly similar scenario.

hi! please make sure to credit the community of the r/GravityFalls! they made lots of effort to solve a bunch of the mysteries, staying up for ages to the point the mods had tell them to take breaks. its disappointing to see the lack of credit given. :(

completely agree. was very active in the subreddit when the book and website released. These fans worked extremely hard and if the mysteries they solved are being used they should be given credit!

Jessie wasn't Bill's ex! She betrayed Bill by telling Ford about the portal real function! Bill's ex it's most likely Ford (since in the books it's very obvious how close they where to one another, even if it wasn't something physicaly but emotionaly abusive in both ends)
Notice how all the codes in the glitch cypher refer to bill as Billy and talk about his childhood in Euclidia? It seems to be like it’s most likely Bill‘s mother scalene since the Oracle would have no way of knowing what happened in Euclid on such a personal level
I don't know if this is true but it's been pointed out a bunch of times in the gravity Falls discord and Reddit that Euclid is his father and Euclydia is his home dimension with Scalene being his mother,, literally no clue tho, just sharing what I've seen :3

It’s disappointing that this man who matpat trusted and entrusted film theory to, blatantly ripped the script and info from the people who actually solved it with no credit. I know it’s happened before it’s just, disappointing.

Love the video but as one of the people who solved the silly straws I kinda wish you guys credited the discord/subreddit for solving all the codes mentioned in the video
Edit: Seems like proper credit is being added to the description soon, glad to see it happen but slightly disappointed it come to this.
On a side note though, as a game/film theory fan for nearly 10 years now, to know that my google doc of codes had a direct impact on an episode is pretty amazing. Still have a large amount of respect for the team as they help inspire new waves of decoders and theorists

It reminds me of the anthropic principle, which says that we might only be alive in this universe because it's the only one where life is possible, or at least only one of a few. Basically there are many instances in the book such as ford writing "is this really happening?" And "one thing led to another" in what seems like a drunken page by Ford. There is also a few pages where bill acts like a toxic ex, such as the sticky note page, and when bill went to a bar because ford just left him.
this would be really cool video if you guys could credit were given to the users and communities that did the work to make these discoveries!!

Isn't a source like for articles and claims? These were all just "this is how you solve this puzzle, this is what this page says" I'd be happy with a shoutout in the description or somewhere in the video but if you wanted them to say "and we got the answer to this riddle from u/abcd on the gravityfalls subreddit" for every puzzle that's very excessive.
@@003dylanThe theories in this video were literally taken word for word- even if the source isn’t “professional” i.e articles it’s still really disrespectful to take somebody else’s words and theories and pass them off as your own. I would agree that citing every single puzzle individually is excessive, but again this was taken word for word, and the team could have at LEAST credit the subreddit in general
@@maeflowrrThe way to solve the puzzles would be the same though, and they provably have a whole team working on this in background. I’m not saying it’s one way or the other but sometimes there’s going to be overlap in how someone gets an answer and then communicates it in an easy to understand format. Not to mention that there’s probably a time difference between when the video was recorded and being went into post to when the theory got solved in either reddit or the theorist team.

I really dislike this format of game/movie theories, the way it’s presented feels so uninterested, as if he had barely even read the book, and is only reading random facts and theories already available publicly, it really feels like someone mindlessly reading a wikipedia page on a subject they don’t know much about and adding silly jokes or references in the exact same way corporations do. Getting details wrong, citing random passages of the book without adding anything to them, and most of all simply retelling theories and ciphers that had already been decoded, and presenting them as if your team had discovered them themselves, not citing any sources in the whole video and instead hiding the very important credits of the people who basically did all of your work all the way down the description, where most people never look
This felt like a brand making a video, not like an individual actually talking about a story they’re passionate about

Just because someone solved it first doesn't mean other people don't also independently solve the clues after. Its likely the people at FILM Theory also solved many of the codes, even if later, without referring to other solvers.

All of this lines up with the poem the Great Axolotl spoke at the end of the mostly-noncanon book Dipper and Mabel and the Curse of the Time Pirates' Treasure. And the Cipher Statue at the end of Book of Bill (which as far as I can tell is like 90% canon at least), then not only is the Film Theory of Bill's survival through Grunkle Stan 100% accurate but the Cipher Statue Hunt is actually also canon to the show's lore. And now his statue has officially achieved its goal of getting a deal, albeit not with anybody who found the statue since everyone that had found it actually weren't interested in a deal (they just wanted the handshake) but rather a willing creature in the bird.
