      But they are not meant to say that they are ok with it when chosen for a death penalty trial. They are mad because that juror had to say they were capable of giving it if the circumstances called for it, and they were unanimous in saying it had been proven that the circumstances call for it.

    We need to appreciate the fact that the society in Florida and elsewhere in the US is accepting death penalty less and less and this type of punishment is going to just disappear over time. If this trial had happened 20 years ago or even 10 years ago he would have gotten the death penalty most probably. Society is evolving, justice system is evolving, vast majority of developped countries don't have death penalty anyways. Terrorists from the Paris attack in 2015 (around 160 death) they only got life in prison because its a European country and they just don't do death penalty. Oslo Norway in 2011 Anderw Breviks killed 75 people and he didn't get death penalty because this sentence just doesn't exist over there. Do you really believe that homicides are rempant in those two European countries compared to the US because of the absence of death penalty? Thats exactly the opposite.
    Life in prison is the WORST that can happen to criminals in the vast majority of civilized and safe countries all around the world include those which homicide rate is like 100 times lower than that of the US.
    So lets just not all exaggerate and call what happened in this trial a misscariage of justice as if Nikolas Cruz had just been set free and was right now on his way to Disneyland.

      That’s what I’m saying the death penalty is mercy. I would rather be dead then locked up in a cell my whole life. Plus is morally wrong to kill someone. Eye for a eye makes the world blind

      @@billyjean8057 You wait until your child is murdered, then you might feel differently. Death penalty is ok for extreme cases. People like Cruz will never be worth anyone's time or money. He will be an attention seeking psychopath for the rest of his life. We put rabid animals down everyday. Let him die and let the families heal as best they can.

    • @BigAssNigga311
      @BigAssNigga311 Год назад

      Yes, and society isn't evolving in a good way on this issue. The average person is stupid and thinks life in prison is harder to deal with than the death penalty because the average person thinks their feelings dictate truth. Death row inmates routinely try and get their sentences reduced to life in prison because waiting for an execution date that isn't disclosed is way worse than staying in prison for the rest of your life. Putting everyone in prison for every single crime is obviously a stupid idea, there should still be things that can get you the death penalty like what coward Cruz did.

    Dont worry sir, once his "celebrity killer" status wears off in a decade or so, and hes considered less at risk of getting mauled immediately, his security will be laxed and his supermax schedule is bound to be altered. Thats when he gets life threatening injuries via fed up gaurds when he (absolutely will) attacks one again and or other inmates. A life sentence of shitty medical service, a guard bringing your meds late, and a myriad of horrifically painful injuries to wail about in an old suffering bitter age. Then *poof* he starts paying in the next life.
