He even said he would prefer a peaceful death over life in prison due to the fact being, how his actions are mentally torturing him day by day. There is not much to do in prison besides one thing, which is time. You have endless time to think and regret your actions. That will be his ultimate punishment. He will have to face his demons until the day his rotten soul decides to leave this earth. When he does, I hope he burns in hell.

No person should bury a child or a loved one, as happened in this extremely unnecessary instance. I have a lot of sympathy for their respective situations.
I find it just extremely sad to see how much hatred the families carry. I would suggest that it is detrimental to their own Mental Health that this hatred has built up over a period over more than 4 years and seems to be continuing to grow.
Time has perhaps come for acceptance (of death that unfortunately cannot be reversed), hatred to subside and forgiveness to be given in an attempt to concentrate on future wellbeing and closure.
All families had opportunities to make wonderful memories with their loved ones and I hope that those memories will in time dry all tears and bring calmness.
Your family members came from privileged upbringing and yet never befriended anyone like Nikolas, because he was "stupid" and "below" them. I therefore urge parents to stop concentrating on wanting the death penalty imposed - Rather help the much larger problems, such as: (1) Mental Health training for both teachers and scholars, including early warning signs; and (2) stricter and safer gun laws. That would be much more positive time and effort well spent as a legacy for your loved ones.

I have watched this whole trial and this verdict is the most disgusting and hateful thing that could have been done to these poor families. The jurors responsible for it should be prosecuted for perjury and the trial should be null and void. The jurors who voted to save this monster's life are going to be the cause of many more deaths. They will be as guilty of those future murders as the murderer will be. I hope they thought about that and the fact that it could be one of their family members next time. Those jurors will reap what they have sown. Hopefully those jurors will never get another good night's rest. I feel so sick and angry for those families. Where I live we have executed several people over the last 30 years and they were only guilty of killing one or two people. How can that punk kill 17 people and get life?????? HE IS NOT MENTALLY ILL...HE IS AN EVIL DEMON WHO DESERVES TO BE SENT BACK TO HELL WHERE HE CAME FROM!

So on one hand if you don't give people the death penalty it will let people know it's ok to kill. But on the other had it's no deterrent because the state where they have the death penalty is where you have the most shooting. Its something your country is doing because there are countries that don't have the death penalty and they also don't let general public have guns and there are hardly any shootings. So go figure!

I hope the jury members that made this disgusting choice feel the weight of their actions and I hope the pain they have caused haunts them for the rest of their lives. I hope every time they try to sleep they remember the disservice they were apart of. They helped satisfy and fulfil the killer's hopes to watch the families suffer. He killed, he ruined and he gets to live. 17 people for one person. He will never be punished, and the three jury members are okay with that.

What a horrible thing to say, that would have been such a difficult thing to have decided. They probably knew that they would be hated but they have done what they believed to be right. If the death penalty worked and was a deterrent you wouldn't have the most killings in the states that have it. But it doesn't work, what stops these kids from being killed is not selling guns to mentally ill teenagers.

He never had a chance, now god has given mercy through a gracious and brave juror. This juror will be forever blessed. Only very sick asocial nations believe in the death penalty. You realy believe 5 humans executing one human being is not murder? You distinct between good and bad murder? These people who execute others as a job and get payed for it by the state are even ten times more evil than Nikolas- who is adisabled, troubled mentally ill human being.
