    As a New Mexican with lots of silver jewelry, my experience is that it doesn’t tarnish if you wear it daily, but it does if it just sits around. But I love the looks of this one. Thanks for another great review.

    I absolutely love my 925! The tarnish came about much earlier than expected but I'm excited to see what it's going to look like by the end of the summer/year! Hoping for the normal dark tarnish but i wouldnt mind the rainbow colors I've seen on toned silver coins😁

    I bought this watch two weeks ago and have fallen in love with it more and more as every day goes by. It has a certain mega quality and wow factor that is both enormous and difficult to describe unless you see it in the flesh and live with it. I adore mine and have both the black and blue versions too so I can compare all. I have made a couple of videos of the 925 and when you see it flashing and glinting in the sun you'll see what I am talking about.
    There are more difference between the previous versions and this 925 model. The crown and bezel coin edge are sharper to the touch which is probably something to do with the 925 mix and the way it is cut. Also the other versions had that odd second release when you undid the crown and then tried to turn it to change the time, it would release a little more and pop out slightly. This version doesn't do that which is probably to do with the different movement, but I cannot be sure. The slight extra thickness I think adds to it from a feel and design viewpoint.

      @@WristWatcher It needs a light clean with an old toothbrush and warm soapy water once every few months but always comes up lovely.

  • @stefanogoldoni5059
    @stefanogoldoni5059 3 года назад +14

    Great watch but the look of the movement is nothing to write home about so a closed caseback as in the black and blue versions would have been just fine.

    • @patrickbrcr
      @patrickbrcr 2 года назад +1

      Exactly. Not only would it have been "just fine," it would've been preferable. The exhibition case back is a negative for this watch. Also, silver tends to have a warm feel and it would've felt much nicer on the wrist than the sapphire.

    had my bb925 two weeks it's beautiful, I also have the bluebay58 and the BlackBay 58 I use these watches as every day beaters and sports, cycling, even built a restaurant wearing the bluebay58 every day on the blue fabric strap without damaging the watch at all. The slim profile and small case size is perfect it's not a ding magnet. But, after changing straps on the 925 I can warn you guys that the silver extremely soft I am not planning to use this one as I do the steel ones. Changing straps on the steel BB58s you'll end up with some fine scratches on the back of the lugs but try it on the 925 the spring bar pinged into the case while removing it and actually left a dent! So if you are really active and sporty the 925 is going mark very easily if you knock it into anything it's just so soft. Get the steel one it's very tough. Also if you buy a 925 get it on the fabric strap and you can buy the leather strap from tudor for around $200, the fabric strap has more silver on the buckle and costs $400.

    Many thanks for the great review. Although I have more watches than wrists (or sense for that matter) there is something about the Black Bay 58 that just clicks. Not just on the wrist but the aesthetic as well. I will be waiting a while on this one for now, mainly because I already have the BB58 steel on the bracelet in black and I can't justify the 925 version. The taupe color is a great decision and works well with the silver case.

    I have BB58 black, saw this 925 at local ad last month. Two criticisms i have here; 1- i would like to see a nicer&fancy looking movement. 2- the tail of the leather strap is weirdly too long. So I had the opportunity to compare it with my watch head to head. The silver’s crown is a bit bigger which i like. If you choose it you won’t regret👌

    I've seen this at my AD and you are right... looks far better in person than in photos/videos. Same with the BB58 Blue too I think. But with the 925, the possibility of tarnish and the lack of a bracelet is a deal breaker for me.

The size of 39 mm is just perfect. My Rolex Explorer is now arround 3,5 years old and is also 39 mm in size. So I change to wear both watches twice a day. 😊 Your video is perfect and well done. 😢

    Im a big silver fan too. Most of my rings and necklaces are white gold and silver. I have to admit, as much as i like this i didnt think it will hold up as rough as i am on my watches. I definitely couldn't wear this to work. The new carbon case black bay is probably going to be in the watch box soon. I think it would be a better fit for my environment.

    This one is great ! I did hear it does patina but that's kinda cool to me, now the real letdown is the Ceramic Black Bay and the noticable absent Bezel PiP rendering it USELESS FOR DIVING, why they didn't follow the actual tool watch usefulness is beyond me. But this one's nice !! As for the silver they should automatically supply a rubber strap too.

    • @waterfordrs22

      If they created this with actual divers in mind, they wouldn’t have gone with a silver case to begin with- period. If you actually dive and intend it for that purpose, you’re missing the point. Go for a Pelagos, it’s an actual dive watch that no one buys to dive with either.

    Love your points, especially that re: the need for a proper bracelet. And, like you, I am not fond of the "snowflake." Where we differ is that I am not fond of the greyish dial and bezel. This needs the same black found on other Black Bays to make this watch truly pop. And should tarnish occur, Wright's Silver Cream will take care of that quickly, easily and to perfection.

I have lots of silver coins, money clips, cigar tubes, silverware, and now a BB 58 in silver. Super easy to care for. The case will get nicked easily though, but once it's nicked all over it looks fine. It's a dive watch--it's not supposed to look pristine!

    As you say, lack of bracelet means I won't buy. Same with Tudor's gold releases. Why have a precious metal dive watch without the accompanying bracelet? I'm guessing the answer is daddy Rolex doesn't want to give up the market share. It's a shame because the Tudor's appeal to me so much more than the Rollers and this watch with a silver bracelet would be amazing. Sure it would add to the price, but you can always have a strap option.
