@mkii2363 yes longines has been running circles around Tudor. Worldwide longines is #7. Tudor is nowhere to be seen. Yet if u listen to these pr trolls, you'd have the opposite impression.
Oooh, Britt, absolutely love this comparison video! I have both watches in the collection (both at least a couple of years old). The BB58 is usually on my wrist, and the 300 goes on aquatic adventures. No idea why that is, but wrist time doesn’t lie!
LARRY IN THE HOUSE! 💕✨ and I’m sooo glad you enjoyed! I love your first hand experience! … and I can’t explain why… but the way you wear these watches completely makes sense to me! 🤣🤣 the BB58 does feel that little bit more daily-wear, a bit slimmer, etc. and the SMP is very tool adventure time!
I've had both Omega in blue, white and green and BB 58 and 54. All gone now. I really do love the Seamaster but ultimately felt it was too large on my 6.3" wrist. The bracelet is ugly IMO but looks great on the rubber strap. No real issues with the BB's but I found myself reaching for other watches. Ended up with the PO 39.5 Summer Blue. Fits great... although she chunky. Still comfy and the bracelet is much better looking IMO. You should do a review of the PO Summer Blue.
I love the Black Bay 58, especially the blue one, in fact it has been my grail watch for a long time and it still kinda is. Nonetheless last year I treated myself to an Omega Seamaster 300 m, they silver grey one with a blue bezel and blued hands. It wears great on my just under 7 inch wrist and I haven't regretted the purchase for one second.
This particular seamaster checks a lot of boxes I don’t want to check: Big chunky size, clunky ugly bracelet, nasty shiny bezel, ridiculously fat skeleton hands. It’s a caricature of a dive watch. Amazingly, it’s based on neo-vintage predecessors that, while similar in design, are much better balanced with better wearability and proportions. This lineup needs a massive refresh. The only thing the seamaster has that is objectively better than the BB58 is the Metas cert. Definitely not worth the large price premium over the BB58.
Thanks, Britt. Although they are quite different, I pondered both a few years ago before I decided on the SMP. Back then, I don't remember the price gap being that significant. I got the white one, dumped the bracelet because I found it clunky, got the OEM rubber strap, and since then have played with different strap options, including my new favorite, a Hirsch Hybrid James. It looks....striking on it. But back to my decision way back then. Put simply, I found the SMP more fun and playful, the BB more serious, and the former suited the mood I preferred to be in. I know this is entirely subjective, but when I look at my watches they evoke something in me that either appeals, or doesn't. But it seems to have taken me a long time - and lots of experimenting - to figure that out.
I have the black SMP 300 on the rubber strap and deployant clasp and a blue BB58 on the bracelet. I wear both regularly. The SMP is flashier and sportier, the BB58 flies under the radar more often and gets more wrist time in the summer. While they are both divers, I see very little competition between the two and appreciate each one for what it is and does.
Never could understand why anyone would want exceptional finishing, it just makes the watch unwearable if you want to keep it pristine. Give me a brushed or bead blasted finish any day and wear the watch without worry. Damasko makes a great one maybe do a review on the DS 30 😊 mine is 3 years old and not a single mark on it. The submarine steel is real. 😊
Do you know why Rolex/Doxa invented the (automatic) helium escape valve? Because deep sea divers kept forgetting to unscrew the crown to release the helium gas, during decompression. How ridiculous then is it to "invent" a separate crown to release gases that doesn't solve the original problem that the automatic helium escape valve solves (forgetting to unscrew the crown)? It's like inventing a second steering wheel for your car just in case you end up sitting in the wrong seat - you might think it's cool, you might even rationalize it, but for most of us: it's silly.
@@laszlovargas8249 In the past, the crown at 3 o'clock was unscrewed to release Helium; divers kept forgetting to unscrew the crown, which is why Rolex/Doxa invented the AUTOMATIC helium escape valve. Omega just created a second crown at 10 that doesn't solve the problem - which is forgetting to unscrew the crown.
I tried on both at an AD on the same visit. I bought the Tudor. It has become one of my favorite watches in my collection. I'm wearing it on a Forstner Model J jubilee bracelet, which adds more comfort and adjustability, with modern construction and a vintage look. Cheers!
I have an Omega Seamaster Pro from 2008 and a Tudor Pelagos from 2023. So not quite the exact comparison. The biggest difference I have found between the two is the feel of the crown. When I set the time/date or wind the Omega it is smooth as glass. The tudor isn't grainy or rough by any measure but the feel of the crown is not as smooth as the Omega. As for bracelet...I agree. The Omega looks like it is from the 90's but I have never changed it out. The Pelagos looks much better and the way I have it sized it fits a bit tighter. I like them both! I do like the newer Omegas that don't have the escape valve and full hands. I like the snowflake on the Tudors.
Now THIS is a fantastic take!!! I couldn’t agree more! 💕👏🏻 this is why I love the comment section! You, as someone who owns both watches, will have a far more detailed understanding! I completely agree re: the feel of the crown! 💕👏🏻
Owning both watches I feel pretty confident to compare them. First things first, I have to say that they are both great pieces from two equally historically significant brands with a rich backstory. Looking at the dimensions I'd say that the BB58 wins this category. Although I have to say, that the SMP wears absolutely phenomenal for a watch this size. In terms of movements I'd say that the Omega has the slight edge here. The Calibre 8800 is cosc and metas certified, it's really hard to beat that. Sure the Tudor has more powereserve, but the movement of the Seamaster was more accurate overall. At least in my case 🤷🏻♂️. One of the most debated topics regarding these watch is of course the bracelet. Both aren't perfect. With the Tudor people complain about the faux rivets and the lack of micro adjustment. And on the Seamaster it's the overall design of the bracelet and the fact that it doesn't taper. If you ask me the bracelet of the SMP feels a bit more solid. I don't mind that it doesn't taper and the design is part of the watch. But each to their own. When looking at them I'd probably choose the Omega. I just love the wave dial. How it plays with the light, absolutely gorgeous.
I have the BB heritage burgundy bezel and the Seamaster 300M white dial. I also own the omega Seamaster 300 heritage with the lollipop seconds hand black dial and it gets more wrist time than than either of the other 2 I absolutely love the way It wears its one of my favorite watches.
Solid video. I think you made an excellent point at the end of the video. Tudor seems like they are coming for Omega and thank goodness because Omega has lost their minds with their prices and value. When I bought my Seamaster, Omega was the sort of humble, highly capable alternative to Rolex and were quite affordable for someone “normal.” These days, I think Tudor is to Omega what Omega was to Rolex.
1. I've said it a million times, I'll say it again: Omega is the direct competitor to *Rolex,* not Tudor. The fit, finish, and movement tech of Omega is equivalent to that of Rolex, and far superior to that of Tudor. Omega and Tudor are not directly comparable, not only because of the aforementioned qualitative reasons but also because they're in different price ranges (Omega is consistently more expensive, and for good reason). 2. It's great to hear that Tudor is putting the T-fit clasp on all Black Bay models, that would make me seriously consider buying one. You paying attention, Grand Seiko?
Maybe in the past. I think Rolex nowadays positions themself above Omega, Grand Seiko or Panerai. It's on the same tier as JLC or Piaget. Tudor on the other hand is indeed below Omega.
That's not true, I'm talking real world market value prices, watches on eBay and in 3rd party jeweler's windows right now. A Tudor diver (take your pick, BB54, BB58, Pelagos etc) is under £3k, a latest model Omega SMP300 is around £3-£4k, less if you go back a model, a lot less if you can get away with mid size (Brit). A flipping ceramic Submariner is £10k! Even a no date last of the aluminium bezel models is £8k! Earlier than that? Low beat mech, hollow endlinks, rattly bracelets, pressed clasp! And still anything from £6k upwards well into six figures and beyond. A Rolex Submariner has a huge premium attached just because it's a Rolex Submariner. Sat next to a £2.8k brand new BB58, or a brand new 42mm co-axiel SMP 300 for £3750 (both BIN prices on eBay UK) the cheapest brand new authenticity guaranteed 126610 Submariner on eBay is £11k! That is not a direct competitor. Not even close.
@@denis888red the resale is irrelevant, I'm talking new real world open market prices for a brand new watch. The required amount to get one on your wrist (under £3k Vs over £10k) is the issue.
Idk, man. I have a watch from each of those brands. The quality and thoughtfulness of the Omega and Tudor are, in a word, comparable… and the Tudor was nearly half as expensive. The Rolex is a cut above both the Omega and Tudor. Love them all. They’re doing different things and representing different values.
I have both (Black 41mm SMP300 and blue BB58) so I say both. Never understood the issue people have the SMP bezel as it’s much easier to turn than the BB58 tiny coin edge bezel. Everything is aligned on my Omega but the bezel insert isn’t perfect on the BB58. Both are phenomenal watches and are kings in the luxury dive watch space.
I love the omega but think it can put the bracelet from the 300 which tapers and still has the micro adjust. I love the skeleton hands and helium escape valve
I was wondering how I missed this video in the watch gringa catalogue but then I checked the upload date and realized it came out today! Very cool to see you still covering the BB58 even after the initial hype had died down. Personally for me it’s still a top tier watch, one of my favorites of all time and a personal grail I hope to own. Thank you for the video Britt 😊
I have both in blue and both live on rubber straps that solve most of the issues for me. The Omega on the blue OEM and the Tudor on a grey Vanguard strap. I also have the white Omega 300M on the OEM mesh bracelet which is a great look too. Love the comparison videos Britt, keep them coming!
The Seamaster actually has a 9 link bracelet - which I discovered when I resized mine. Omega need to shrink the Seamaster to 38-40mm, taper the bracelet and add on-the-fly adjustment and I don't think they'd be able to keep these things on the shelves. I freaking love the look of the Seamaster but these unforced errors stop me from purchasing another.
For feel like ruggedness buy Seamaster, otherwise Blackbie (sorry, can't stop teasing Harrison haha) since it's same spec but more versatile in daily life
A very well made video but one thing I think you missed is to point out the bezels. Their resistance when you rotate them. Omegas usually have a lighter bezel and it would have been interesting to see how tudors is, since it is more tooly looking.
Love these video's. Two great watches, still for me watches come watches go, some hide in drawers but my Omega 2254.50 from 2003 is always the rock the others aspire to. The last one and the one they can put on me at my funeral.
Part of what makes the 2254 is so great is how thin it is. The current SMP has gotten so thicccccc that even if they designed a bracelet and hands similar to the 2254, I don’t think it would or could recapture the magic of the original.
I think you hit the nail on the head. I sold my BB58 because of the lack of micro adjustments. I just couldn't get it to fit right. With the Seamaster, that is without question the ugliest bracelet in modern watchmaking. I am lukewarm on the HEV and hands, but the bracelet is a deal breaker for me. It is so dated. I also wish they made it a bit smaller.
I have a fairly flat 6.5" wrist, and the latest SMP lug to lug length is too much. I found a great deal on the 2531.80 and pulled the trigger, and that piece fits me like a glove. I'll be putting the newer SMP up for sale as a result. But, I did momentarily consider the Black Bay 58 Blue dial... which means I'm probably one of your viewers who inspired this video! Haha
I faced this decision 9 months ago. When I had both in my hands next to each other, the Omega felt on another level, the depth the bezel the movement, etc. Nothing wrong with the BB - but I believe that it’s “flaw” - it you want something more interesting, if you like to admire your time piece, that’s not the BB and definitely it’s the Omega. I went for the Omega, but I do regret getting it in the bracelet, which I barely use; I keep changing straps. Great Vid !!!
@@vianouche1I call this "the Tudor effect", Tudor don't have to worry about their name or brand, it's all taken care of because of who they are, who founded them and who their big brother is. They can bang out retro's of old Rolex's, retro's of old Tudors, faux patena and faux rivet included or bang up to date the most modern titanium diver you can buy. And they get away with it all. And while they are not cheap, it feels like they're cheaper than they could be, there are 3 brand new Pelagos on eBay UK right now under £3k, two of them well under, that's crazy.
I’m sorry Britt, I’m an Omega fan. I’ve had mine since 2001, and just love the wave pattern dial in blue, I get compliments everywhere I go. I don’t get the bracelet thing? It’s the most comfortable stainless band I’ve worn. Doesn’t pull hairs, and a great dress look. I’m sorry Omega wins hands down, and this has got to be my most go to- wrist time, out of my collection. I guess I’m just too much of a Bond fan!😃👍
@@matthewfriend6672 even not liking too much the James Bond vibe, I have to agree with you. Both bracelet (bond and speedy) are wonderful. Would not have those babies on any other strap / etc.
Thanks Brittany, love your videos. I have both watches and find myself wearing the Tudor about five to ten times more often than the Omega despite the fact that I prefer watches with date windows.
Great video. These are my two luxury watches (well, the BB58 in black and Seamaster 300M in blue), and every day I feel damned lucky to have them both. (I had wanted a Seamaster since the '90s and managed to buy myself one last autumn.) My "work" watch, by contrast, is a Seiko SPB153, which I also love, and I have a Citizen "Fujitsubo" in black as my "beater" watch. Truly, I think that's all I need (or more than I need, in all honesty)... but I may save up for a Speedmaster over the next few years.
Always happy to watch your gringring! This is really an apples and oranges comparison. OK, they're both blue, but apart from that, they are totally different. Both are great. But for a tiny bit more, you could get an Omega Planet Ocean 38.5mm, or a Tudor Pelagos 39 or a Tudor Pelagos 42 (which wears much better than the SMP300). Now the tiny upgrade totally solves the bracelet problems. So flash an extra £500, and get the real deal.
Great review. No shade, you got this right. Yep, i spent time with both before selecting the black Bay 58. I don't think they are that different and I would be happy with either. The fit of the black Bay 58 seemed better for me. I'm smaller and that's probably why. Hands down, the coaxial escapement is amazing. The price wasn't a big deal as i originally was looking at a Rolex Explorer II and I'm still on the hunt for the perfect GMT. But nothing for like the Tudor Black Bay 58. I think the first Omega i buy will be a vintage DeVille Chronograph coaxial. And i don't think I'll own a seamaster, it's lovely but didn't fit my dainty wrist and i only need one diver. I am a certified SCUBA diver and have worn it on the saltwater but i get so concerned about leaving the crown open. I checked all many times lol I recommend for divers always having a watch for backup even though the equipment we use typically doesn't require it. I've got a few watches that are good candidates for going under that aren't $3 to $4k watches.
While I like the BB, it’s a very “safe” watch. Doesn’t really stand out. Could be mistaken for a number of different watches at first glance. The SMP on the other hand. There’s no mistaking what that is because it has such a distinctive look. So I’m team Omega all the way.
Agreed, had a brief chat with someone I saw at my work who had the latest air king. When he asked what mine was he said is it a tudor? It was my lorier neptune IV whereas had it been my 2531 undoubtedly it would've been more obvious
Why do you care if other people notice your watch? Are you just trying to flex? That seems to go against the mantra of buying what makes YOU happy. That is exactly why a lot of people appreciate the BB58…it’s a great watch that doesn’t draw a lot of attention. Maybe you’re too insecure to wear one? Omega makes a great watch and I’ve tried to like them…they just seem to try too hard. Their designs are all over the place and they have way too many variations of a given watch. It’s why Rolex endures as they do…they don’t make fifty variations of one watch. Simplify and stay true to your design ethos. Maybe one day Omega will come to understand this. Or not.
@@saltydog7988 Nowhere in my comment did I say anything about flexing or caring about what people think of my choice of watch… All I said was the Seamaster has a more unique look than the Black Bay, and that’s why I like it. Nothing more, nothing less. Next time think before you project *your* issues on a random RUclips comment, m’kay?
@@TheJohnGalt1945 Unique can be interpreted many ways…positive or negative. If you like it,good for you. Your statement comes across as a put down of Tudor and the people that choose it because they prefer an understated design ethos instead of going for “unique”. Different strokes as they say. M’kay?
2 completely different watches and quality! Omega Seamaster 300m Profesional was my dream watch, I say it was because I already bought it, it’s something else!! Britney, you tried!! Keep them videos coming!
Funny enough, I was facing a decision between a brosnan era bond 41mm blue automatic seamaster and the bb58 blue. I went with the bb as it was a more modern watch, with better price but the omega is still on my bucket list!
Bracelets ... Grrrr! My principal gripe is the lack of chamfer on the inside edge of so many Bracelets. I appreciate that it is probably a skin type issue....but anything that even feels slightly sharp is far from comfortable on my wrist. Expansion Extensions are another grumble...IWC has a push-the-Logo clasp which I thought very neat. (Although I don't own an IWC). My Rolex Explorer two tone has the curious fold back link with which I still fumble like a child. A Grand Seiko SBGX261G has a very silky feel which I really like, albeit it does not have an extension facility. The GS clasp is no more than one centimetre and shuts with a reassuring snap.
I mean, if we’re talking which is the better watch, there’s no comparison, the Seamaster is in another league and the price reflects that. Now, personal preference is another thing-fhe BB58 ticks about every box for me, with that lovely blue dial with the stark white markers and hands as contrast, no date, and a real vintage vibe. The SMP, on the other hand, has that wave dial I don’t care for, the awkward HEV I don’t need, a date complication I would rather do without. So for me, my personal preference would be to go with the blue BB58 because it feels like the blue snowflake Tudor Submariner I’ll never get my hands on and the SMP feels like the Seamaster I would only buy if I weren’t allowed to buy a Seamaster 300 Master Co-Ax instead. I love vintage reissues, I am who I am and I accept that. Also, if you’re worried about your posture, another thing to think about is an adjustable (or “standing”) desk. You’re hunching over because the seat height at which you’re comfortable sitting is too high for the height of your desk. If you get an adjustable height desk and raise it up a little, you’ll find your posture improving immensely.
I have a BB58 with the Gilt dial. Immediately replaced the bracelet with a dark tan leather strap and it is absolutely gorgeous. Would never consider returning to the bracelet 😎
Modern Omega competes in a different segment of the markets than Tudor. The reason why there is so many videos comparing the SMP300m to the BB58 is because of the pre owned market prices. More often then not, you can get a pre owned SMP for less than a BB58 new. But here’s where it gets interesting, you can get a pre owned BB58 for around the same price you cab get a good condition 90s /2000s Brosnon era SMP 2351.80 or a good condition Peter Blake SMP 2254.50. I personally think these older SMP’s compete closer to the BB58 than the modern due to lack of METAS certifications and thinner proportions vs the thicker more polished Modern SMP.
That Omega is the Sea King Seamaster. Every review of the neo vintage Seamaster including your previous reviews of that watch have made that watch really stand out.
@@BrittPearceWatches you can find plenty of info on the forums. the watchuseek forums have also been talking about it, theres 1 channel i found that spoke about it some 9 months ago.. “Trei Ceasuri rele” besides him not one other person has spoken about it..
I think the newer updated black bay burgundy with the metas certified movement on the 5 link bracelet with the t fit clasp would be a better comparison. Both are fantastic watches!
The BB and the current SMP are both imperfect, through the SMP is technically quite superior. The best choice is to skip both and get a 90s-2000s SMP like a 2531.80 or the 2254.50 shown. A reissue of the 2254.50 with some modernization (ceramic bezel for example) would be great, though I fear how insanely pricey Omega will make it, knowing that there are tons of fans who would enthusiastically overpay for such a watch.
Nice comparison Brittany, thank you 🙂👍. Agree with all. So, I saw a YT vid some guy retrofitted his Seamaster with an Aqua Terra bracelet (mangled the end links in the process). Anyway, 3 link looked soooo much better imo. Thanks again 👍
I honestly don't know why you are not considering and talking more about the Oris Aquis Calibre 400. True, it does not have the history, but objectively and aesthecically it is better than both, much cheaper than all the Omegas, COSC (maybe METAS?) certified in-house movement, 10 years guarantee and 10 days(!!) of power reserve, contrary to the Tudor's a ceramic bezel. And I think the design is just great. In which respect it is not better?
The Tudor is so much more authentic and cohesive to me. I paid $2500 for my BB58 Blue used in excellent condition. It’s unbeatable at that price. Bracelet is not great but so many good strap options for it!
Totally agree on the seamaster bracelet. It’s outdated and I’ve never loved how it looks. Everything else about the watch is so great. The helium valve I can make peace with!
Looking into getting my first “high end” watch. Prob me searching Tudor or Omega haha. Leaning towards Omega. Omega in my op looks cleaner and the wave design is beautiful. Leaning toward the white Omega 300 white dial. Thanks for making this video haha
Biggest problem with the SMP is that the shade of blue is just too bright. Too blingy. It would have looked a whole other proposition in the earlier generation navy blues. Why they did that, I have absolutely no idea. Oh and the reason the prices all seem so high to you Britt...is because they're so high. I own an SMP and Speedy. While I can afford today's prices, would I pay them? No, I absolutely would not. And I reckon a whole lot of other people are in the self-same boat. Goose and golden egg.
I feel like a potential better comparison might be the black bay vs the omega seamaster 300 heritage. That’s more an apples to apples. Great comparisons :)
I have the first generation 1995 SMP 300. I like it better than the newer ceramic version. It has the traditional lever escapement rather than the co-axial, but I had mine serviced and overhauled recently so it's running perfectly. In fact, I'm wearing it today. I don't own a BB58 but I'm leaning more towards BB54.
Defo time for Omega 300m to be updated imo. I have the nttd, which solves both how it wears and the bracelet problem, but the price is silly. ( this version wears great ) I'd love to see a thinner 40mm new 300m, with a better bracelet, smaller escape valve. As for the Tudor, not for me. Rather just have a submariner, than an in-house homage watch.
@@Tobester_McDonkeythe SMP bezel is comedy level bad, renders it utterly useless as a dive watch (not that one single owner cares) cause it just cannot be turned in gloves.
Idk! Tudor history is really cool, if ya ask me! 😅 definitely better movement! But I cant agree on better history and brand! 😅💕💕 (but I say this all as a total Tudor lover!)
Well, I have a Seamaster Diver 300. So, now it’s just waiting for a Black Bay to join the collection 😅 I’m torn between the bronze & silver case models, or a red bezel master chronometer
BOTH are really BEAUTIFUL watches! they BOTH have a STYLE OF THEIR OWN😀. OMEGA has this octagonal...whatever BEZEL WHICH just changes all while TUDOR has a simple and decent BEZEL! BUT for me the seamaster always WINS! it just itself is so UNIQUE! AND WOW! a non-watch sponsor, awesome chair though😅😅... the WATER RESISTANCE makes OMEGA even more BETTER TOO! but yeah both are awesome! thanks for the AMAZING video WATCH GRINGA!
Nice vid! The older Seamaster 300's are so much better to wear and look at in my opinion. Thinner case, sword hands, Black/Blue/White dials... if Omega would do a re-issue of those older/thinner cases I'd have to buy one.
Great vid Britt, I would say if someone's looking in he BB / Seamaster area for a watch... I'd be looking at a Pelagos 39. Gorgeous watch that I think treads the line between both of these great watches.
As a man who picked the Tudor over the Seamaster, I am biased. I have every intention of still buying the Omega but I tried it on my wrist and the 42 was just too big for me to wear more formally. I purchased the Seiko king samurai as a stop gap and purchased the Tudor as my everyday watch. I would love to see the return of the midsized version if that ever happens. 2 amazing watches.
Hey Britt, Absolutely fantastic video comparison, I’m on the same page, i have the bb58 original, and 3 Seamasters 🤪 and i do really enjoy wearing the Bb58 my Seamaster scratches that itch every time. Keep up the great content. Wills
I have both, I like both but I don't love none of them , but overall your comparison is excellent! , owning both of these two watches I have kind of the same opinion... Omega is a better watch absolutely, but price-quality Tudor is the winner in my opinion! If you think about it on the secondary market you can get one for 2,5K an everyday beater ''for the rest of your life''
As per my timing comment yesterday...and as of 10.08 this morning on a 24 hour test.... Unserviced 2013 Seamaster. Spot on. Literally to the second. 2003 (serviced 12 months ago) Submariner 4 seconds fast.
Two really great watches and a great comparison. Thanks a lot, Britt! Not sure wether the finishing is that much better on the Omega to justify the price difference 🙂
I own the bb58 and an Omega Seamaster Aquaterra. Both are amazing watches and the accuracy at the moment is pretty much identical. The Omega is the better movement obviously and the quality of finish is better. However, the crown on the Tudor is much nicer to use, the Seamaster is stiff and actually is a bit awkward. The steel on the Tudor seems more resistant to scratching, the omega picks up hairline scratches seemingly from nowhere. Both amazing watches, both great value compared to Rolex. The Omega wins out overall but the Tudor is an amazing watch for the price point. I’d recommend both of the watches I have.
The current Seamaster 300 bracelet is very comfortable to wear and adds a touch of class with the 5 link with polished parts. I much prefer it to any Tudor or Rolex bracelet..The older version with the Sword hands that you like is the most hated variant of the Seamaster. Hence it was only available for a couple of years and then they reverted back to the classic design...
Hey Britt up date! I did a thing, I picked up a BB58 blue and this time I will never make the mistake of selling it. 😊😊😊😊 My life somehow now seems complete again. 😊😊😊
Seamaster. I can tell you, the AD for Tudor in Denmark weren’t as welcoming to customers. At least not me. While the omega dealer, the owner of the boutique even complimented my choice of the green dial. The guy didn’t talk to any other customers that were In the store during that hour we were there. I won’t forget not getting let in that other store.
I love the Omega brand & have an Omega dress watch. But I do like the Tudor BB 58 a bit more than the Seamaster. Doesn’t matter does it? Thanks Brittney. Keep the debate going.
I've owned at least two 2254 Seamasters, currently own a blue dial Pelagos and a black dial BB58. Would I even consider trading my BB58 for a current or 2254 Seamaster? No. I loved my 2254s, but not enough to keep either of them... My BB58 or my Pelagos are special.
We can compare as we want two watches, the principal selling point for me will always be the wearability. Always. And here, Tudor is unbeatable. I love them for that. I'll keep loving them for that.
Ive owned both, the seamaster was the non wave dial version. I felt the bb58 was really boring, design is bad, hour hand and rivet bracelet are negatives. The seamaster felt and looked like a much better watch.
Britt gave a very professional opinion of the watch. For sedentary office workers, FlexiSpot's C7 ergonomic chair provides a good office experience.

Totally agree
I have the bb58 blue and look to buy a green smp soon. They are apples and oranges but both ooze quality and have a timeless appeal
Review of the 2255.80 is the review we never knew we wanted. Give us one please!
The perfect watch!! Every day on my wirst since I got it
I own a pre-wave ceramic 300M and BB58 and like both for different reasons. These can live together in a collection nicely
Ok... but why not compare the BB to the heritage Seamaster model? Seems a more direct comparison and more understandable why people would be curious.
Excellent choice, sir.
Your comment is silly
The Doxa and the Rolex escape valve does not have a crown. You actually have to look for it on the side of the case.
I have a diver 300 coming this week with a blue dial on blue rubber and a second mesh metal strap. Can’t wait to get it
Congratulations! This is awesome!
I love my 2254.50 more than I did my BB58 so I sold it! It was more about the size and style. Bought it for the hype I think more than the love!
😂
Agreed. I used to be an Omega fan, but their current pricing is out of line.
@@fontyyy Real collectors could care less about re-sale values my friend.
Britt - I’ve got a 2252.50 coming in, let me know if you wanna try it out. The 36mm might be good on the wrist.
Great review Britney. I own both watches and love both for their strengths. You have a distinct Vancouverite Canuck accent. It’s unmistakable.
I love the omega but think it can put the bracelet from the 300 which tapers and still has the micro adjust. I love the skeleton hands and helium escape valve
Can we get a review of the new Christopher Ward Sealander GMT 36mm?
I’m very intrigued by Explorer II vibes in a 36mm case…
I am trying for it! I’m just on holiday now! But getting one in as soon as I get back!
@@BrittPearceWatches Britt looking after us 36mm lovers! 🫡
Enjoy your holidays!
Hey Britt! That was pure gold! Love it 😊 Your BEST work ever! On my way to buy an Omega, cheers
For feel like ruggedness buy Seamaster, otherwise Blackbie (sorry, can't stop teasing Harrison haha) since it's same spec but more versatile in daily life
I’ll prob go with the Tudor since my standing desk diving setup maxes out at 200m.
Agreed. The 2254 is the perfect SMP
Kind of why I went with the NTTD. Also looking at the 43 5 ceramic on rubber
The BB is soul-less... Vanilla at most...
@@fontyyy Dear Brittany, could you pin the comment of Fontyyy? He/she says it all!! Perfect analysis of what Tudor is today 🙏🏻✅
Same here.
Great video Britt! I’m glad you mentioned the bracelets. I love both timepieces, but I too would avoid the bracelets on both.
I checked all many times lol
I recommend for divers always having a watch for backup even though the equipment we use typically doesn't require it.
@@TheJohnGalt1945
Unique can be interpreted many ways…positive or negative.
4:08 Watches CANNOT get COSC cetrified. COSC certifies only uncased watch movements.
Thanks Brittany for a brilliant video. So nicely thought and presented
Every review of the neo vintage Seamaster including your previous reviews of that watch have made that watch really stand out.
side topic : will any of these watch influencers talk about Rolex and the 32xx series movement issues?
Nobody on youtube has been talking about it! It's very suspicious.
Oh. I didn’t know it existed?! 😝 seems exceptionally niche! But niche is what we do here! Can you provide anymore information and good sources? :)
…. I didn’t know the problems existed lol! I know the movements exist lol.
I have both watches (modern ones) and love them, great video Britt.
In which respect it is not better?
no-date sub vs Seamaster heritage please.
Love the deep dive on bracelets, who’s has the best dive watch bracelet in the business in your mind?
I feel like a potential better comparison might be the black bay vs the omega seamaster 300 heritage. That’s more an apples to apples. Great comparisons :)
I thought the Tudor clasp had a double closure, meaning you open the first bit then pull the ‘beak’, but Britt just rips it open 😮. I hope I’m wrong.
I hate the Helium Escape Valve on the Seamaster so I would go for an Aqua Terra or Railmaster instead.
Great video as usual Britt!
The Seamaster kicks the black bay's butt. Better history, better movement, better brand 😎
Omegas not been too hot lately. Too many "limited" releases. Reminds me of (as much as I love them) Grand Seiko
Not a chance - BB58 all the way.
@@Tobester_McDonkeythe SMP bezel is comedy level bad, renders it utterly useless as a dive watch (not that one single owner cares) cause it just cannot be turned in gloves.

What happens when the 58 updates to Ceramic and Metas? How will Omega justify the price difference
Hey Britt,
Absolutely fantastic video comparison, I’m on the same page, i have the bb58 original, and 3 Seamasters 🤪 and i do really enjoy wearing the Bb58 my Seamaster scratches that itch every time. Keep up the great content. Wills
Pick both of them, one for everyday use and the other one for fancier occasions 🤘🏽
I imagine the Seamaster 300 people want to see compared is the heritage model. That would make more sense and those are two watches I’m looking at.
I have both, I like both but I don't love none of them , but overall your comparison is excellent! , owning both of these two watches I have kind of the same opinion... Omega is a better watch absolutely, but price-quality Tudor is the winner in my opinion! If you think about it on the secondary market you can get one for 2,5K an everyday beater ''for the rest of your life''
Great video! The Omega is amazing and the clear winner! The Tudor is dull, dull, dull!
Already bought the BB58.
Which watch are you wearing in this video?
I own the men's black bay and the SM300. They're both great. Just buy them both.
I have both and love them both! Thanks for the video.
