Kwon had the coolest technique but his character was definitely a jobber. It's like that Indiana Jones scene where the guy does all the cool sword tricks and just gets shot (Axel is the gun).

Kwon is honnestly one of the best character, he got Hong Kong martial art movies vibes, im tired of the nerds teenagers like Demetri or the New Hawk,we need savage beast like Kwon. Kwon is another version of Daniel if he didn’t have the right people and teachers in his life. If we look at both of them at time of their introductions in the franchise, both are the outcast who were bullied and are angry/have outbursts. Kwon was failed by everyone and I think that his death impacts Daniels character the most because Kwon is a boy who was like him except he didn’t meet the right people to help him. He needed a Mr. Miyagi or someone similar to help him and Daniel could have done that but he was too late. Which is pretty sad because if you think about it he failed to save a version that was once him.

I couldn't have said it better myself honestly. Kwon himself wasn't a poorly executed character obviously, but it was how well his cockiness and poor judgement was portrayed that made me hate him. I kept anticipating that he would go too far and draw blood or break a limb, but this surprised the hell out of me. He lost his cool and karma swooped in faster than he could do a 360

Alright, Kwon didn’t “deserve” to die, it’s the people that wrote his history that are dumb as well, because in the first part of the season they show him like he’s a goddamn beast in karate, winning a 1v3 against other students, but then for SOME reason he couldn’t manage to beat a angry Robby (which should make him weaker, since it’s always shown that when Robby is angry he loses focus), but I was like: “sure, guess that needs to happen to the story to keep going.” But THEN he couldn’t even win a goddamn jumping at Robby (which is supposed to be Cobra Kai specialty to fight with no rules). The fights with Axel are acceptable since the guy is the Jiren of karate, but saying he’s a “bad” character because the writers messed the character up? Really? And plus, the knife moment, he’s just doing what Kreese taught him, fighting with no rules, and probably if he tried to go for the stab desperately, Axel would simply block it and they wouldn’t have a horrible reason to kill Kwon, this season just ruined one of characters with most potential
