I like how it's also on par with actual karate and martial arts, like back then alot of martial arts was made to be better than the already existing one's, to survive, to kll, but of course since it was modernized. It basically was became sporty in reality which is what i like about the show.

I blame this more on the writers. Hawk and Robby going to Miyagi-do shouldn’t have nerfed them because they still would’ve had the training and experience to beat Kenny easily, yet the writers chose to make them lose for no reason. The grappling aspects of Karate have been introduced into the tournament we saw this with the iron dragons who defeated the cobra Kai’s with only grappling techniques. I like how some are even saying it’s not karate because they are grappling it’s them who doesn’t know what karate is if they they think it’s only a striking art failing to realize it also has grappling.

To me the biggest problem is not Americanized karate the biggest problem between cobra Kai and miyagi do is that they are always fighting each other so when people from different countries start using different martial arts and fighting styles they are not used to it because they have been fighting cobra Kai and that’s the problem because miyagi do thought cobra kai would be the hardest people to face they forget this isn’t the other tournaments where the same people and come out winning this are different countries with completely different styles of martial arts which is why I think they should team up

They nicely explained how it seemed very unrealistic that my daughter would earn such a belt in a short period of time. I took her out of that Dojo and placed her in another where it took two plus years for her to teach green belt. Furthermore she seemed to believe that she learned far more Karate in 2.5 years than she ever learned in the beginning. Seeing all those Cobra Kai’s in black belts in what is like two years is why I say it’s unrealistic 🤣🤣🤣

I’m not joking, there’s actually a video of a BJJ tournament where one match didn’t have any action because both fighters *procedurally* pulled guard for tactical safety and the ref was contemplating a double point deduction for lack of activity
