I really like Kwon - he's such a charismatic character. I just feel like they did him dirty and i'm not talking about his death (even though it was such a stupid way to die). Kwon vs Robby was fine but I wish that it wasn't so one sided throughout. Wanted Kwon to be more of a threat and get some shots on Robby before he lost to Robbie. I also did not like the fact that Kwon was only effective against Robbie while Robbie was distracted - it felt like such a disingenuous choice for an Antagonist that you're building up as the rival for the final season, and it really undermines the image of Kwon, who had a really powerful introduction.
I knew plot armor would favor miyagi do but when you fight angry, all tactics and skill go out the window. It’s a shame, a calmer Kwon would’ve easily destroyed Robby but Kwon was too angry seeing red which is why he lost.

@ idk what exactly I would be “coping” about but sure, I unlike most loud people in the comments actually liked how part 2 ended, they got an even bigger threat with the Iron Dragons kid, it was a quick set up for a bigger threat, Kwon was never gonna kill anybody, that right there was actually “cope”. @@ethankleinman1067 also it just seems extremely likely that kwon has been training his whole life cuz of how advanced some of the moves he performs are
I agree. Kwon got super hyped for nothing. If he gave Axel a good fight or if he definitively beat Miguel that would be one thing, but he only beat a distracted Robby. Yoon did better than Kwon. At least Yoon embarrassed Hawk and Demetri. This kind of reminds me of Red hawk. People are just hyping Kwon because of his confidence and intimidation, but he actually didn’t win a lot of important fights. A lot of people say Red Hawk is Hawk’s prime because of the same reasons, yet Red Hawk didn’t win against anyone hard either. He only beat fodder characters and he got low-diffed by Robby and Miguel in S2.
Kwon's actor said in an interview 2 days ago that his character was established as being just slightly less strong than Axel lol.. yet he got that's not what we saw. Rewrites nerfed him into the ground.
We had every reason to overhype Kwon after part 1 because of how much the writers built him up. Part 2 they just butchered everything about him and completely wasted him

dont think youve ever been in a fight like that he entered fight or flight and he thought i have to fight and win the war cause kreese taught him that its the perfect death scene makes so much sense
@thebearminimum1649 that doesn't answer why you would be doing jumping spinning kicks with an open blade. That's a thousand times worse than running with scissors.
Yeah at least Kwon’s personality was interesting and entertaining, but I think Axel is supposed to be that way. Axel is supposed to be a stone cold fighter who’s been taught to hide his emotions.
That's the point Axel was trained to show no emotion, do every move with perfect accuracy and no wasted energy. As we were told he is like the winter soldier and the terminator. He was basically programed to be the perfect fighter.
The actor who played Kwon, Brandon H Lee, is an actual martial artist in real life. Brandon was Simu Liu's stunt double in Shang-Chi. I thought he did a great job playing Kwon. Sucks that Kwon doesn't get a redemption arc.
I think the death scene was Iconic he went out like a warrior. Destroyed 3 guys in a row went after Robby kicked him to the ground and stomped on him then kicked Sam down when she intervened then when he couldn’t beat Axel he ran at him with a knife. He wasn’t going to stop he was on a war path. He totally represents everything cobra Kai has ever stood for so hopefully all evil of cobra Kai dies with him. Overall sure maybe skills wise he didn’t live up to expectations but man if you didn’t appreciate the acting and skills of Brandon H Lee idk what to tell you. The finale left me speechless let’s stop this kwon is overrated talk and appreciate such a great villain for this final season and massive shout out to Brandon for literally killing his performance
Also, I don't know if this was intentional by the directors or not, but I thought of this two days ago. The events before and when Kwon's tragic demise takes place showcases the polar OPPOSITE of Cobra Kai's teachings. Daniel shows FEAR over Kwon picking up the blade and harming someone else or himself with it. Kwon feels terrible PAIN in his heart after the blade impails him (even more cruelly ironic that it hits his heart directly). And lastly, Daniel and the others show restraint, kindness, and mercy in the attempts to help him, but unfortunately there's nothing that can be done to revive him. Kwon died without being loved. 😢
Kwon is honnestly one of the best character, he got Hong Kong martial art movies vibes, im tired of the nerds teenagers like Demetri or the New Hawk,we need savage beast like Kwon. My only problem with Kwon is the fact that he simply don't have any character developpement,he was just the "very evil villain" and that's all. Also no,Prime Hawk would not beat him.
This is a story about snakes. Snakes bite themselves and die in the end. Ouroboros is a self-fulfilling prophesy. But as Mr. Miyagi said, there are no bad students, just bad teachers. Kreese and Master Kim are both accountable for Kwon's death. Kresse especially. Kresse stupidly fattened his head by making him captain when clearly, he is too prideful and reckless to be a leader. They let him loose and he got himself killed, with his Master's Knife. pure Ouroboros.
Something I truly don't understand is that there were so many people denying the possibility of people dying in this show, claiming "its not that kinda show". Bitch, they have been teasing death since season 2, and have been doing it every season except season 4. Miguel's fall in s2, Johnny and Daniel vs Kreese in s3, and the fight at Silver's house in s5. The fact that there has been this much foreshadowing, and people were still denying it the day before part 2 came out is astonishing to me, and I feel Kwon's death is sort of fulfilling in proving all of those people wrong. I also fully believe that there is more death to come in part 3, specifically, Silver or Kreese, but I also wouldn't be surprised if someone else were to die as well, like Johnny or Daniel.
Lets admit that he was a wasted potential , I mean first of all we barley knew this character and his back story, and also he was not even the big bad bully , he was not even threatning like Season 2 Hawk, Tori , Season 4 Robbi and Season 6 Axil which seemed more dangerous than kwon
Kwon defeats Miguel in Episode 9. If the roles were reversed in those scenes, ya'll would be saying a whole lot. Edit: To say "Lucky shots on Miguel" is crazy. You spend the discussion saying once Miyagi-Do get there shit together, things go downhill for Cobra Kai and Kwon. But when he beats Miguel fairly, it's lucky LMAO. Aside from that, I agree the writers could've done better with him.
@@Sono_zeraya oh my god. In most cobra Kai fights, the weaker fighter still scores points. Kenny scored on Robby for example. Miguel scored first 2 on Robby before losing. This time, it just happened that the fight ended after the first point scored and not because Kwon won but simply cause Miguel had just fought somebody else and decided to tag Robby in
He was a one-dimensional villain. If he had stayed on the show another season, they would have just tried to make him sympathetic like they do with all the other bullies.
R.I.P Kwon, and listen, he may have have gotten his ass handed to him by Robby and Axel, and beside his High Ego and Cockiness, he was such an amazing Terrifying Fighter and had insane potential (which made him so strong and Terrifying). Everyone saying hes overhyped and all that and didnt last a whole season, but he was such an insane fighter. His Insane Agility, Speed and kicking combos and flashy fighting style was just insane to watch. Its so sad to see him go out this way, he was only 17 and so young. Im glad we got to see what he was capable of, but sad we didnt get to see more, he had so much potential and would have liked to see him fight in the Finals. Only for him to die by being blinded by his Bloodlust of Rage, and Anger and No Mercy. Also not to mention, the worst advice given to him before meeting his fate "just take all that anger inside you, and give it purpose" and Kwon having anger issues, this was just overall the wrong advice given to him. I wouldve liked to see his fight against Axel more, and if Axel didnt kick his leg mid air which made Kwon lose balace and fall on the Eujangdo blade I still wouldve liked to see what wouldve happened, (It couldve went a similiar direction, in Axel turing the Knife againt Kwon, or couldve kicked it out of his hand) or Kwon making contact with the Eujangdo Knife on Axel dealing serious damage and he goes all out and kills Axel, or Daniel getting stabbed in between trying to stop Kwon from using the Eujangdo against Axel. But overall, this was such an insane ending to Part 2, and this clears every other ending from every season. This was by far the DARKEST ending in Cobra Kai. I dont know where they could possibly go from here after Kwons Death, do they continue with the Sekai Takai, or do they call it off? R.I.P Kwon, he was one of my favorite characters and favorite fighters. 😔🕊
Kwon was amazing, good fighter, tremendously charismatic, he became a fan favorite in 6 episodes? 15 minutes on tv? such an aura, not overrated at all.
Problem with Yoon is he's boring while kwon every scene he's in steals the show, by being loud then beating up Yoon and his friends showed us what he can be capable of. But the writers took that away from us and made him into another Kyler jobber type who was just there to set up the next plot point and nothing more.
I really hope he is not dead. He does not deserve to die. He deserves to live a better future. And learn from his mistake, but you can survive a step to the chest because your heart is not directly in the chest
Kreese is responsible for Kwon's fate. The students are teenagers and it is up to the adults to lead them to the right path. Kwon was not mature enough to handle the captain's role. It's like Mr. Myagi said, there are no bad students, only bad teachers
I liked Kwon as a villain, finally someone that just wanted the smoke. But being overconfident and fighting angry never works well and you get sloppy. Bro was doing jumping spin kicks when he had a knife 😭 call that his signature move, the flying seppoku
I don't think anyone deserved to die, but if it had to be someone, it made sense that it was Kwon. I felt bad for him but I would've felt way worse if it was someone who wasn't a total prick.
Meanwhile, Miguel was back at his Peak during this part, man was winning 1v2s and more. Except for that Iron Dragon dude, Miguel was untouchable, the man said "Watch this"
Plot beat Kwon. First fight Kwon should've washed Robby. They did NOT utilize Kwon to their fullest potential. Why set up this fierce, ruthless fighter just for him to be getting beat up by everyone in Miyagi Do. I expected him to be similar to how Axel is in terms of fighting. Second fight should've been closer, not Robby toying with him after Kwon beating Miguel. That's the major gripe I have with this part Cobra Kai should've been WAYYYY tougher. Robby beating Kwon and Yoon makes absolutely 0 sense and shouldn't have been in there, I understand it was a brawl but no way Robby taking on two of the best Students at Kim's dojang, especially after Eli had help from Kenny and Dimitri to take out Yoon alone.
It’s not plot. Kwon fought with blind rage. When you’re angry seeing red all the time, your fighting skills get very sloppy. You’ll lose to an under experienced fighter because they can keep their cool while you can’t. I think that was a better angle. Kwon’s story was a cautionary tale of what happens when you fight with rage and also shows the weakness of kreese’s philosophy.
He is not overrated, he literally lost to the best karate tournament fighter in the world. Aside from that, he was top tier and not to mention, Kwon was training at Kim Sun Yung Dojang while Axel was going around the world competing in every country. Axel was a bigger, experienced WORLD CLASS Karateka. Kwon was an up and coming hot head learning Tang Soo Do and this was probably his first tournament and they got the call on short notice since it was supposed to be American Cobra Kai in the tournament.
So gutted he died early. What I liked so much about him was how "crazy" he fought. He was just like that colombian guy Yuri Boyka fought in "Undisputed".
Kwon is another version of Daniel if he didn’t have the right people and teachers in his life. If we look at both of them at time of their introductions in the franchise, both are the outcast who were bullied and are angry/have outbursts. Kwon was failed by everyone and I think that his death impacts Daniels character the most because Kwon is a boy who was like him except he didn’t meet the right people to help him. He needed a Mr. Miyagi or someone similar to help him and Daniel could have done that but he was too late. Which is pretty sad because if you think about it he failed to save a version that was once him.
Man Seikai Taikai is DONE! I don’t know how they’re gonna continue the sekai takai in part 3 after this. Probably because Kwon was a good antagonist for the younger cast.. and sure we’ve seen fights escalate before but never in death and to this degree with somebody young.

Kwon was done dirty this season. The best character turned to trash to dead
The issue here is most people got too hyped for that character that wasn’t even supposed to get much, they used him properly.
I knew plot armor would favor miyagi do but when you fight angry, all tactics and skill go out the window. It’s a shame, a calmer Kwon would’ve easily destroyed Robby but Kwon was too angry seeing red which is why he lost.
@@E46330cino,no,no
The reason why people hyped him up was because he was set up to be a major threat for Miyagi Do, they wasted him as a villain
Every time a show does this to a villain that had the potential to be an interesting adversary, people always make dumb excuses
“You guys just overhyped him” “they weren’t intended to do much” like come on bro, that’s cope, it’s simply lazy writing for the sake of shock value, his decent into madness was too quick and he didn’t even get to kill anyone or even seriously injure a character
It’s a shame because the actor playing him was spectacular in the role and Part 2 as a whole was extremely solid
He was presented as super talented so that you can see how the Miyagi Do kids are actually like in skill; but never a main villian that was always going to be Kreese and in part 2 we found out it was Silver so yeah, and then you just repeat what I said and made it seem as if everybody else is saying it lol. Its more like bad writing. They really hyped him up just to turn him into a throw away plot device to make robby look good
Also, I don't know if this was intentional by the directors or not, but I thought of this two days ago. 😢

I think upping the scale is what this show needed
Watching season 1 you wouldn’t expect it to get to a lie or death point
Daniel is actually insulated from dying because the upcoming Karate Kid: Legends film is set after the events of S6, and we know he's in it.

Kwon wasnt overhyped tbh, its just his anger and what not got the best of him. Had he had that miyagi do in his heart, he be one of the best for sure.
Which is pretty sad because if you think about it he failed to save a version that was once him.

i agree, if Kwon was a real life person, he would be cancelled IMMEDIATELY, i doubt he would have any support if people knew about him
No man he doesn’t deserve his fate he would’ve had a chance to Redeemed himself if the writers didn’t do him dirty
0:57 legit none of those guys would’ve beat him
Robby literally beat Kwon in the elimination round
Robby whooped his ass, and Miguel throughout the season is shown to be at least equal if not better than Robby post their fight with the Irish team. Hawk maybe not but the main duo sweeps him mid-diff
Robby literally defeated him in a 1v1. There is no argument around it. Robby> Kwon objectively.
Miguel would also decimate him based on his feats in this tournament.
Miguel has zero Ls so far and may even be stronger than Robby.
Axel already destroyed him multiple times as well.
The only one I agree with you on is Hawk. I think Kwon beats Hawk.
Also watch the entire video and the series again. Robby embarrassed Kwon on live tv.
Kenny would cook kwon
Its not possible to just state that robby is better than Kwon and vice verca, they both landed 1 point on each other and thts all we got,the 2v1 situation didn't even make sense but bruv is dead so no comparison needed
Karate will be banned world wide after this.
In the series or in real life?
@@Mephiles_as_Terios silly question
nah if someone dying sekai tekai would ban karate then there woudnt be a sekai tekai in this show
nah, there were already deaths in the Sekai Tekai before kwon
I couldn't have said it better myself honestly. Kwon himself wasn't a poorly executed character obviously, but it was how well his cockiness and poor judgement was portrayed that made me hate him. I kept anticipating that he would go too far and draw blood or break a limb, but this surprised the hell out of me. He lost his cool and karma swooped in faster than he could do a 360
Kwon's kicks are crazy. my man spent half the tournament in the air
His character was like the dark side of the force where that will take him going down the wrong way
Bro said 360 jeezys in the air am dead 😭
he did not deserve to die even if he's overrated
He's not overrated. When are people gonna understand that being popular doesn't equal overrated. The word's used to death for everything
@@nickalvarez8716 He's overrated, people are treating and thinking that Kwon is going to survive the knife in his heart like he's Jesus or something.
@EllieOlay Nobody cares. You literally play Roblox and have no life 😂 people that use overrated like it's a legitimate valid word seriously need therapy. People only use overrated because their jealous of a character they hate is popular and can't come to terms with that so back off
@@nickalvarez8716 No life? Every video about kwon dying, I see you lol.
Kwon just many of the characters they did dirty. He was badly written.
He shouldn't have been written at all.
''no bad student bad teacher'' finna hit kreese hard
I know Kwon is overrated but no way even a locked in Hawk can beat him. He is literally below Yoon.
Kwon ain't overrated. He's handsome and badass. He got aura.
Axel: If he dies, he dies.
Trying to kill someone in a tournament is crazy so that’s sort of what he deserves
To be honest, I’m not 100% sure if he was going for the kill or if he just wanted to axel to win the fight
@@nbahighlights7060 / He took that knife for the kill and died for that reason. Why can't people understand this, that knife was made for that purpose!
It’s all Kreese’s fault. What kind of dummy brings a knife to a fight and drops it 🙄🤦🏾♀️
Bro fight him in real life
What I hate about him dying, is not because I actually like him. Actually, I think it should’ve been a character we maybe liked, instead of the new asshole of the show. He was one of the main antagonists, so why completely demean his lore and backstory?
I couldn’t agree more
4:09😂😂 so true though like hawk was like uh mit blah blah blah this guy focus on college then a tournament
Kwon was such a good fighter why they nerf him 😭
N-nerf??? All i saw was a flashy fighter get cooked.
Like if you know anything about actual martial arts and karate, you'd know that
Flashy stuff can be easily beaten with simpler and more effective attacks! 😂
nerf? lol do you want him to win against axel? that would make axel nerfed
@@lightningjadejavier i know a lot about martial arts if u actually seen the first part of s6 when the first introduced Kwon he fighting style was deadly and made it look like he would be one of the best fighters there is but he got absolutely demolished 😭
Kwon wasn't even that good in the first place. He didn't had defense, and relies on his kicks.
@@legendytofficial3dude he is like top 3-4. He beat Miguel, and is about equal to Robby. Axel is the only one stronger.
6:46 yeah if I had a whole knife in my hand no way id be doing 360s, 540s etc. high risk moves especially with a sharp object in ur hand is a big nono. Bro made a dumbass decision
i completely agree, kwon deserved what happend to him. overrated asf.
Axel and Wolf were the real heavy-hitters of this season.
Bro finally someone agrees with me. Kwon had that shit coming
You do realize he was tought no mercy right, why the hell do you think he picked up the knife to try and kill someone
@@snipe0945 no shit. Of course I do. The guy was instigating and talking shit all tournament, not to mention being cocky and full of himself. They was hyping the shit out of this man in part 1. Expecting him to be this dominant force of nature, when he was really setting himself to get clapped later on. Robby legit ended this man's whole career 😂.
@@snipe0945 because he was humiliated by Axel. Axel was a dominant force of nature. Not him. All he was known for was those flashy ass kicks. Dude finally met his match
@@MoveInSilence919 I agree with you but don’t act like it was a complete stomp the only person that really was clapping all the other top tier fighters was Axel
@@unbornking19I'm not saying that. He was definitely a good fighter and skilled in his own right. But the dude was doing too much 😭. He needed to humble himself. Arrogance can be deadly. He thought he was the best, only to get soloed in the final battle.
THE DEATH OF KWON IN COBRA KAI IS
NOT THE DEATH OF VICTOR IN THE PENGUIN.
Kwon died because the character whose fate
it was to die at The Sekai Taikai was not there.
Funny how Kreese and Silver were shocked by Kwon’s death, as if they hadn’t done things where the lives of students were at stake.
Ngas will say anything just because they don’t Iike the character
Never deserved to be dead 😢
Kwon was the best teen villain in Cobra kai (like chozen and Mike Barnes), the fact that they killed him off was such an L move. There's no way people think some bop chasing weirdo like Axel is a better villain that kwon just because he's the better fighter 🤦♂🤦♂
Why does bro remind me of sasuke
Saying he’s the most overrated character is quite literally insane😭
He did not deserve to die. I would personally agree with a non fatal stab. It could teach him a lesson and he could redeem himself. Maybe in a similar way Chozen did
Nah you’re right this dude was ticking time bomb waiting to go off. No discipline, just ego. Wasn’t surprised when he pulled that stupid shit at the end.
Every season has a much "upped" fighter.
S1: Miguel Diaz
S2: Balanced between Samantha LaRusso, Tory Nichols, Robby Keene, Miguel Diaz and Ei 'Hawk' Moskowitz
S3: Similar to S2, only Miguel is more limited
S4: Terry Silver, Eli 'Hawk' Moskowitz, Tory Nichols and Robby Keene
S5: Terry Silver, Chozen Toguchi, Kim Da-eun and Kenny Payne
S6 (part 1): Kwon Jae-sung
S6 (part 2): Wolf, Axel Kovačević and Zara Malik (and bits of Miguel Diaz).
