    PRK is a SAFER procedure than LASIK. there is nothing to sell. also, many of the problems you've had are age related. younger PRK/LASIK patients do better ,quicker.

    Would appreciate an update. Trying to decide whether or not to do this PF replacement. I’m 44 and fit. My knee maltracking and subluxing is the main problem so I would really like to know if the subluxing issue you had post surgery recovered. Best wishes to everyone in the comments going though the same thing, it’s tough to cope with this issue physically and mentally especially when sports are so important to us

    • @ScottCopenhaver
      @ScottCopenhaver 6 месяцев назад

      I still have a tracking problem, but my situation is unique. I promise I will make a video very soon! Are you going to get TTO or something similar to address your subluxations?

    • @LynneMW1
      @LynneMW1 6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the reply and Im sorry to hear you are still having issues, that’s really tough. I’m not a candidate for TTO so my surgeon is willing to do the patellar femoral replacement (he quite rightly made me try 18 months of physio before agreeing) I’m not in much pain but the constant maltracking with occasional subluxing is what is making me seriously consider the replacement. I’m just scared to start the ball rolling as the partial has a finite life and I’m not keen on the idea of needing a full in 10-15 years but I have no quality of life so will likely try it. Looking forward to your update video

    Please do an update. I’m about to get a kneecap replacement next month and was very athletic before my motorcycle accident 2 yrs ago. I even graduated to a 200 yoga teacher before the accident and really wish to get back on the mat. I’m hoping you’re much better and have good news for us.

    • @DobraLLC
      @DobraLLC 2 месяца назад

      @@stevewatson-ph5wp I had the surgery about 2 months ago. I was in a motorcycle accident 2-1/2 yrs ago and broke my left femur. They added a metal plate and didn’t know I damaged my knee in the accident. Many months later as the swelling started to go down the knee started make a loud crunching sound which I could feel. Right before the kneecap surgery I started getting back to yoga and got most of my range of motion (ROM) back in my knee and started to be able to kneel on something soft. So now back to the kneecap replacement. It’s almost 2 months and now I have a click sound in the kneecap replacement when walking but it’s way better than the crunching sound and the feeling it had. My ROM is now 125 deg on my own and 135 if I pull with a strap. I still don’t walk normal and if I try walking normal it’s a little more painful but it’s slowly getting better. After the accident I bought myself a small TENS unit from Amazon for about $35 and it was helpful. After the kneecap replacement I bought a much better TENS unit called iStim EV-805 and an extra set of Lyinie Tens unit pads both from Amazon and love them. I paid about $125 for the iStim unit. I was able to set it up to be nearly identical to the way the physical therapist have theirs set using the EMS mode. I use it on my quad for re-education which helps the muscle over the kneecap. I seem to use it more for my lower back on the TENS preprogrammed mode #12. It literally makes my low back pain go away better than pain killers. I stopped the heavy pain meds a few days after I got out of the hospital because I almost passed out. I only used 2 Tylenol 500mg every few hours and now I rarely take them. Good luck with your surgery.

    Excellent video just stumbled upon. I didn’t see any of the previous videos to this one. Would you agree that certain exercises will feel slightly different now that the long head tendon is tenodesis to the humurus so as only the short head of the biceps will be activated such as a “SLOW” time under tension “STRICTLY” performed pull-down exercise in either palm position and a strict time under tension machine row ??? The incision scar indicates a low in the bicipital groove surgical repair…was a high in the groove arthroscopic repair an option at the time of your surgery ??? Not that the scar really matters. There are plenty of You tube videos with computerized images showing tenodesis and it seems that many surgeons advocate/prefer high in the groove all arthroscopic repairs….

    I did a double. Resurfacing the patella involves trauma to the quad and slowed me down several weeks. After four years, the replacements are doing well, although never young again. My issue now is that my menisci are degenerated and torn. This is a risk factor I wish my esteemed doctor had discussed with me. At this point, I would urge everyone considering a partial to have a strong evaluation of the entire knee and longevity appraisal of ligaments, menisci in addition to the cartilage areas.

    That was great info. Thank you for making the video. I’ve watched about 40 videos and everybody has a couple tips here and there but you answered pretty much every question I had. The only question I would have would be will it be OK to walk upstairs to go to bed and then go downstairs to go to the bathroom because the bathroom downstairs has a really tall toilet. Most of the things you are doing I’ve been doing for a while anyways because my back has hurt for a year and a half so It shouldn’t be to much different. I’m having the surgery January 4 and I’m kind of stuck because I am closing my business and moving out of state so I only have 6 to 8 weeks to be out of my business and have it all packed so I hope I will be able to do that within about two or three weeks. Also, I will have to be driving across country at about two months after the surgery. I will be following you to see how much you can do in a week or two. Thanks again for the video.
