I really appreciate you doing this series. And for giving a 2 year update. Please keep doing updates. I ruptured my pec tendon 13 years ago. And now I have A/C joint osteoarthritis, a long head biceps bucket handle tear, and posterior labrum tear. So I am getting a distal clavicle resection, bicep tenodesis, and labrum repair. The pain has finally caught up to me. I am a massage therapist and enjoy weightlifting but now find I am having to adjust both too much and I am in constant "discomfort". At 41 years old I am worried that I might have to retire from massage therapy if this surgery doesn't fix my problem. Also, recovery will be a long process. Anyhow, you rock for making such helpful videos. Thank Scott
I love seeing this video. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and I have to say.. I'm jealous of seeing that kettle bell press. I can't lift my arm that high right now and I miss having my range of motion. I have a slap 2 tear and am in continuous pain now. Ready to do whatever will fix it (have had two shots that didn't last and can't do many exercises now d/t the pain). It's great to see someone doing so well afterwards.
Thanks for the video..im actually having the procedure done to both my shoulders and im looking forward to going back to the gym. The video inspired me and lifted my spirits thank you
Excellent video just stumbled upon. I didn’t see any of the previous videos to this one. Would you agree that certain exercises will feel slightly different now that the long head tendon is tenodesis to the humurus so as only the short head of the biceps will be activated such as a “SLOW” time under tension “STRICTLY” performed pull-down exercise in either palm position and a strict time under tension machine row ??? The incision scar indicates a low in the bicipital groove surgical repair…was a high in the groove arthroscopic repair an option at the time of your surgery ??? Not that the scar really matters. There are plenty of You tube videos with computerized images showing tenodesis and it seems that many surgeons advocate/prefer high in the groove all arthroscopic repairs….
Great video! My question would be do you still experience some dull pain around the biceps new anchor area near the shoulder biceptal groove? It’s been six years post up but it still has that dull pain and shoots sometimes when I’m doing certain movement but doesn’t last
Thank you for your videos - planning to have this surgery in the fall after golf season. Strangely it doesn’t hurt too bad swinging a club. Gearing up, psychologically, for the recovery! I appreciate you making these videos.
Chris Unknown - I’ve had the pain for years but it ramped up about three years ago. Was misdiagnosed two years ago and finally got a proper diagnosis in March and second opinion concurred. Surgery is in one month. 🤞🏼
@@alicialabelle614 Well what can I say... all the best. You should come back in a few months and comment on your results. Maybe after someone has read this, they'll remind you.
@@fahadblack98 Hi there! Yes I am all good now! So happy with the results. I would say I was around 75% at six months post-op. Now I’m 100%. No pain - can do any exercise I want without limitation, laying on my side does not hurt (used to hurt laying in either side). Very happy!

Hey Scott glad to see the recovery going well. I just had my surgery today, and I gotta ask has you weight lifting ability become the same as before the injury?
I had mine done last week and the pain is way less than before surgery. All I care about is getting back in my garden. I laughed when you talked about the scars. This is surgery number 6 so I have lots of them but my question to the dr was "its not going to mess up my tattoo is it?"
Awesome Scott! I am waiting to get my slap repair and tenodesis, but I am put on hold becuse the Corona. Just trying to figure out what level in "back to sport" I can aim on. Hello!! Great bro!! He had it subpectoral as he clearly says he had a mini-open surgery when he's showing the scar. Did your doctor tell you there's chance of a popeye sign?
Hey man I appreciate the updates. I'm currently 17 weeks removed and still have a lot of pain and limited mobility. Still going thru physical therapy so I'm hoping it starts getting better because I HATE living like this. Sorry if you said this in another video but how long before you were back to "normal"?
