I have a hyster and I have the same problem, it won't start, I think it's the same as that one. I'm in Miami. Can anyone in this area fix it?
@@ramonalexanderhernandez9901 I don’t know any forklift mechanics in Miami but I’m in Naples.
Those brakes look cool! But so weird. I didnt know this sort of brake existed.
What about viper forklifts?
What’s the part number for that mother board? Currently working on one. The part provided was very alike but different. Thank you
What is the difference between the clutch cylinder & master cylinder?
@@aroddavila the clutch cylinder puts your transmission in neutral, same pedal. Push the pedal half way down and it moves your “neutral” cylinder, then push the pedal all the way down you’ll activate the master cylinder.
what programming tool is needed (how do you purchase it) and what are the correct parameters to put in?
@@bigbread9000000 has to be programmed by Raymond dealer. Only they have the software
I fix those all the time in a freezer they suck ..the head of the allen bolt get stripped all the time, the only thing i never replace is the controler/drive unit those seems to be bulletproof. Raymond usualy always have the harness in stock and its cheap but of course you're not always close to a raymond dealer . I enjoy your video alot ive been learning alot on propane those are my weakness as i'm more a electric forklift kind of guy . Cheer from Montreal .

Hey Elmer you don't know me but I committed on one of your videos , knew the parts guy at Toyota. Well talked to Gary a couple of days ago, haven't spoken since he left Mass Toyota dealership. He had nothing to say but good things about you. Just thought I'd let you know
@@joepacheco4038 hey Joe! Thank you for sharing that, Gary was an outstanding person and parts guy. I definitely miss having him around and seeing him a couple times a month. It’s sad how most of the old generation is retiring. Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas! 🎄
@theforkliftguy used to sit with Gary early in mornings before work, he'd be on line checking out property in Florida. Planning his move. As a road mechanic had to start at 7 am from shop so depending on how far you lived from shop to your first customer was your start time. Parts pu was once a week, I lived 1hr from shop so I had an early start . Once you know the rules you learn how to play the game. On yeah one tip when working on any battery powered machines, first ALWAYS check voltage, next leakage from batt case to truck frame. Be surprised how much trouble you can get into when you don't. Here I go rambling on. You and your family have a great holiday and stay safe.
How about Kalmar? I have a few older 30,000 lb capacity Kalmars with volvo diesel engines that I really like. We are upgrading to a newer 30K capacity forklift and am trying to avoid clarks and hysters but not very many used Kalmars out there.
@@noahfigueroarealestateagent yes, kalmars are super reliable forklifts. I think they are the same as Komatsu’s. Same platform
Good afternoon. I have the same pallet jack. Is it common for the control card to die? I have nothing on the led panel and no lights on keypad. I’ve checked the batteries and fuses and everything looks good. The Curtis controller Is blinking yellow so it’s definitely getting power. Is there anyway to test the control board before I purchase a replacement?
@@encrio if there’s no lights on the panel or keypad, most likely the connector that goes through the tiller handle (where it pivots) is damaged or has pinched wires. Check voltage on the wire harness that goes to the control card and see if there’s 24 volts.
@ thank you for your quick response. Should I check the voltage all the way at the top of the tiller where it connects to the board? There are 4 wires that go into the connector.. and into the board. should there be 24v going into the board?
@ yes, check all wires and if you want to go a step further, check continuity all the way back down to the Curtis controller harness connector.
@@theforkliftguy thank you 🙏, I will check this and report back.
@ At the very top of the tiller on the connector there are 4 wires. Not sure if I’m checking this correctly but I’ve got 25v on the red wire but nothing on the black.
Very helpful! What you added into the radiator?
Coolant! 👍
Blessed to have your father working side by side with you. You can tell he’s very knowledgeable, and it’s cool that he’s passing that on to you.

Awsome video I'm about to service one of these Wednesday. What kind of oilfilter brand and number did you use. Carquest said the Carquest 84145 will work on it
@@MichaelMiller-op5sx I use the Baldwin B37 filter. Works great
@theforkliftguy thanks great video
I appreciate what you do here. I have a question. I'm working on this Heli forklift that doesn't go forward nor reverse, and I've changed the transmission pump cos I realised it was weak. My question is, why do I not see oil pressure when I remove the solenoid valve from the valve body when I start the engine?
I’m a tech for Walmart and one of my stores has a 2016 Raymond 8210 where the forks won’t lower, no pump no nothing when trying to lower them but the pump starts when you to raise them. Walmart says it’s time to replace it but the store likes its speed and really wants me to repair it. A new tiller is $2200, do you think if I got one it would fix the problem? I’m getting that new load wheel axle tool that I said I was getting this week.
@@hermancm so it raises fine but it won’t lower? Have you checked the lowering solenoid? You can disassemble the tiller and see if the lowering switch (it’s optical I think) isn’t broken inside.
@ Fixed my tiller question above… yes the jack raises but won’t lower. Will look into where the solenoid is, not checked yet. Tried taking off the tiller, pulled the two Allen screws out of the back then tried prying with a large screwdriver but it didn’t want to come off ugh.
@ you need to take the little keypad off first. That has 2 more Allen bolts behind it
@ No keypad on this one but there is a port cover. Had it off and didn’t see screws but will look under the cover again on next trip to that store, thanks for the help 😃👍
Last week I saw two black wires had come off a crimp on the horn of all things so I reattached them with a new crimp and damn if that didn’t fix the thing 🤔 Don’t know why but the backroom crew that unloads trucks were happy they could keep their old fast Raymond EPJ and so was I lol.
I have a sit-down Toyota forklift, it backfires, also when you press the gas down it backfires and starts to die until it goes dead, also I found that when on it blows out the filter and cap like a cannon what could be going on? Help plz
@@luislovo5053 sounds like it needs a tune up or it’s a timing issue.
@theforkliftguy thank you! Will try the tune up first
How do you adjust the parking brake on a forklift with wet brakes?
They primarily leak from the 90 degree elbows off those lines. The o ring get rock hard
@@christopherhughes8963 correct 👍
Those T/C cooler lines always leak🤣 I’ve never seen on get past a few thousand hours without at least seeping.
@@RinKirit0 so true 😂😂
I just did this Job yesterday, and the transmission was slipping. Topped off fluid and now it won't move. Tranny line's, o-rings filter and replaced transmission fluid. Fluid was a little bubbly. Monday project I guess,. Fluid flow test?
@@josephwalthrop9302 check inching cable (neutral valve) and make sure it’s not stuck. Also your forward and reverse solenoids are working.
@theforkliftguy wire harness became unplugged.
Awesome 😎
Don't forget to change the brittle perished o ring on the inside of the 90° fittings.. trans fluid leaks past the fitting more often as they get older and leaks onto the back of the hose, not out of the hose 💪

Yo Elmer, you need a special lap top like this tough book or i can get the software For what makes and models? If you were to change the display i know it comes in blank you think you can program it with this?
So I actually ordered a new display from Yale and it already comes programmed. As far as the computer, it doesn’t have to be a tough book but it’s what everyone recommends. You can get them on Amazon refurbished for less than $500. As far as the software, it’s not the best in my opinion. It’s super expensive for what they offer. You have to buy individual cables and I don’t use it enough to justify the price. Again, it all depends on what kind of makes and models you work on.
Yo Elmer, you need a special lap top like this tough book or i can get the software on a regular HP and just buy the tool, does it come with the wires to hook up? For what makes and models? If you were to change the display i know it comes in blank you think you can program it with this?

ima lift truck tech here in canada thinking of applying to Tekamo to go alone. do you recommend that? been doing it 5 years
@@ridingwithjander5520 tbh I’m not sure how Tekamo operates with their customer network and contractors. If they supply you with good customers and you have tons of work, I would say definitely go for it. I definitely recommend going out on your own, best decisions I ever made, but it’s not easy at all.
I wouldn't go through Tekamo to go on your own as you know there will be strings attached. Do your own thing and keep your freedom, ultimately that is why techs make the leap going on your own. Best decision I ever made.
