My truck needs a new 2m/70cm antenna setup. Will this work?

My truck has had a problem since the day I started using it. The antenna I have for it is a mag mount and whenever I put the truck in the garage the garage door opening isn't tall enough to allow the mag mount to stay in place. I have the same one you started with and the Bluetooth was horrible. I did the mod to replace the Bluetooth antenna with a wire. It works so much better now.
T-post can also be used as a ground.
Are there any Meshtastic MQTT Channels used for ham interests only? Activity is sparse here, but still would like to use Meshtastic here. I am planning to reach out to local hams and try and get a decent mesh setup here, but until then, looks like I am on MQTT. Thanks for the info on your build.
I use hot glue on the antenna connection. You would b surprised how easy these things pop off when you have them in their case and have no idea....

Bruh. You are da Man! I had my Pi Zero 2W flashed and working in a couple hours (I was taking my time to ensure I was doing it correctly and understanding each step) and I had never even SEEN a Pi before today. Thanks for the help. Now to get the AirBand stick working on it as well! I am liking the interface better than I had with RadarBox software on Win10.
I would love to get back into skydiving but I gave it up when I started flying lessons. Now you either have to go tandem, or accelerated free fall to get back into it and I'm not going tandem and AFF it seems you have to pay for the entire course upfront. It blows my mind that no one offers static line options any longer😢 Cool video, thanks and 73' de KC5JSR.
You don't have to pay up front for AFF, they just discount the cost if you do. There are lots of IAD/Static drop zones, the smaller ones don't even bother with AFF. It is all either IAD/Static or nothing. Come on back to the blue sky!
@LifeAtTerminalVelocity You just made my day! I'm trying to get home to start my vacation, but the hurricane is causing a delay on delivering my load. Please pardon my ignorance as the last year I was active was 1991, I assume an AID is similar to an AAD, is that correct? Anyway, thanks for the heads up and I will look a little closer to find a DZ that offers that, definitely in a lot better shape financially to where I can afford to get back at it, it sucks reverting back into a Whuffo! IAD = Instructor Assisted Deployment. Basically the same program as a Static Line progression but instead you have an instructor that climbs out on the wing strut with you and deploys your pilot chute for you. As you progress and show aptitude for being able to stay stable in the relative wind while reaching for the Pilot Chute you go from 0 delay to a few seconds of delay to full on freefall.
@LifeAtTerminalVelocity It took took me a few "Look, reach, pulls" before I remembered to pull my other arm in to equalize the airstream and maintain stability, but I finally got the knack. That damned sensory overload was a bitch! I remember my first hop and pop, and it was radically ugly!🤣 Thanks again for the information, I can't wait to get back up there!

I'm in the same boat as you. That North East accent did NOT come through at all.
We got in about an hour early with a volunteer who we are good friends with. Front exit guys didn't even notice us. We thought we should go to get lanyards and then ended up at the back of the line in pouring rain for 30 minutes. worth the wait.
That downpour was something to be sure. I was inside the buildings and the sound of the rain hitting the roof was incredible.

It's annoying having tall antennas at times. I have to take down the antennas at every drive thru. I have that same mount which is bolted to my back rack. Great mount.

I have a lip mount on the trunk of my convertible. Used a mag mount for a long time. Cleaner looking now.
What kind of convertible?
A miata. The antenna makes the car twice as tall now.
I have the same or similar mount on my Tacoma. I put it on the edge of the hood. More fore when I drag it through the trees and such as I don’t have a garage to worry about. Works well enough for me there. I’ve never had it on the roof to compare though so I don’t know the difference.
I might move it there later. I still have a lot of work to do under the hood of that puppy and taking off the antenna all the time to lift the hood would get to be a pain.

recently i purchased Radarbox antenna, if i connect it to my SDRPLAY SDR it's hardly detecting 3 to 4 aircrafts & if i connect same antenna to Radarbox stick SDR ( which came with antenna) it's detecting 30 to 40 flights, can you plz tell me what's happening here
Not owning any of the items you list I can't say for sure but I can tell you that I had an issue with the AirSpy and I talked to them about it. They gave me some things to change on the driver settings and it made a HUGE difference. So reach out to SDRPlay and see what they say.

I suspect that this is one of the products that will no longer be made by them after they announced the ceasing of manufacturing in the USA. So get it while you can, I have two of them and they have proven to be excellent. I suspect that you can also find new stock of them at the usual amateur radio suppliers.

I do have the Lido cup holder mount for my 705 and it works good. I’ve used it on POTA roves so the radio can remain in place in between parks.
I see another LIDO in my near future.
