@@upperpeninsulabeautiful so glad you’re willing to share the cool locations! Did I hear your narrative correctly that we can get to Vermillion from the Lifesaving Station, via road I’m assuming?

@@lisas2321 you can drive all the way to Vermilion Life Saving Station via a sandy road passable by most high clearance vehicles...some days it is wise to have 4,wd. But some days even the occasional car can make it. I haven't tried since I've owned my Buick. So I hike down wildcat road a ways and then hike the beach several miles. But, having a decent SUV is the ticket.

They can be bad from May til end of July... sometimes even in August. But if you go on a day with a north wind....the flies stay off the beach!

So between where we parked and the campground down the road a mile...there are several pull outs where I have tent camped in the past ...but if you have 4wd you could probably get a small camper there! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

@@upperpeninsulabeautiful Those are not legal spots to camp. You can only boondock at least one mile away from developed campgrounds.

Today I took my son to the beach looking for agates...stay tooned for that video.... unfortunately we went agate hunting and found a bazillion horn coral fossils. We did find a frog though!😅

It was a super fun wedding! My son had a blast.....we did sit through the whole ceremony before we found the rock pile! Lol

@upperpeninsulabeautiful thanks man, typically banded chert is black chert mixed with gray limestone layers and mixed together. This railroad down here is really old, part of the old original logging companies who was the first to use railroads to help transport big logs from my lake here to the muskegon River, and then float the logs all the way over to lake michigan. This railroad had rocks brought in from upnorth from the big quarries up there. I believe that's where my chert came from, best guess based on the time period.

I almost always trust the younger eyes to find the real beauties out there! 1:35 So cool!!

So, that river...though near the Lakeshore...is only a sand bottom...no stones... 😢 But it was a beautiful morning! And thank you for the nice comment on our agates! Oh, tin tin and I went to a wedding near Petoskey mi...we went out to the gravel parking lot and found some Petoskey stones and some banded chert that looks similar to your railroad chert. It was a lot of fun. We made a video about it. I hope to post it soon. Have a great week!

@upperpeninsulabeautiful that's awesome, maybe that came be the source or closure to the source, I've always wanted to find it, bigger pieces! Yeah,most of the rivers around me are sand bottom too. Which makes me wonder if the rocks on my river are from when the bridges where built. Because it's only in this spot really, up and down stream are mostly sand for miles until the next big newer bridge.

Elijah is 21 and in great shape....he is keeping me young! Even if it's young at heart ❤️!!! He is a blast to go rockhounding with....he is a blessing for sure! Thank you so much for watching! Thank you so much! It is the best diamond the Lord has blessed us with in a long time. Incidentally, our church hosted a sports banquet for area Christian schools. To decorate the 11 tables we used my 11 agate jars...one in the center of each table. Someone commented....where did all these agates come from? They were blown away. @upperpeninsulabeautiful yeah, my wife and kids helps me with technology all the time, lol, and you would thinking being in an engineering field that I would get it too! Yeah I've been going to the river one day a week, and making a ton of shorts and videos that I setup to be released throughout the week. When I started out I was making a full 20 mins video oh most daily, I enjoy making these, wish it could be full time again! Hope the family is doing well?

Hey, thank you for the information on the bug....I guessed he was a water bug...we let him go in the water and he swam straight to the bottom! That agate is one of my top 5 agates from Two Hearted!
