Hey there, thank you for watching! Thank you for appreciating our agates! Lake Superior agates sure are beautiful! Releasing another beach video in a day or two!
I think you'd make a great agate hunting guide! And with social media being the thing folks do today, I bet word would spread quickly and you'd do well with it. Look how quickly word spread about Yooperlites and how well the gentleman that "discovered" and named them is doing. :) You definately have an eye for them!
Man you find some good stuff Dan. Really like the videos since I’m about 4 hours away and only make it occasionally. Super jealous of all your gems. Maybe I’ll meet you out there one day! Good luck finding that pounder
Hey Matthew, thank you so much for tooning in. The Lord has surely blessed our hikes we take. Im fortunate to be able to bring you guys along. And even more fortunate to have viewers like you share encouraging comments!
Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment...Superior is like no other place on earth! The cool thing is that there are so many beaches on Superior but each one is different from the next!
@@upperpeninsulabeautiful Believe me I know :) I rockhounded over 20 different Lake Superior beaches and enjoyed every single one :) It is the most relaxing and rewarding thing to do in Upper Michigan in my opinion 😃
Wish I owned a diesel, but do drive a Ram it’s a converted Promaster camper van. Great to see you had the family with you on this one. Just my wife myself and my granddaughter (every rock is a pretty rock to her) she’s 4. My bucket usually weighs about 50 lbs in 30 minutes thanks to her. She puts them in, I throw them out when she’s not looking 😂Anyway love that you do this with the family too.
I stopped carrying buckets when my kids were 4 and 5. I got caught throwing a couple of my son's rocks out of the bucket one time...Tin Tin wasn't happy! I switched to backpacks for the kids...they filled them up too!
I was camping at Two Hearted River campground when that wind storm started. The wind ripped some of my tarp stakes out of the ground so I grabbed my blankets and slept in my car. The waves the next morning were coming halfway up the beach and washed a lot of the rocks away. I only found one good agate during my stay there but plenty of other pretty rocks. Keep up the great videos!
Hey thank you for watching and posting a comment!, how was the road on the way out? Do you have a picture of the agate? Have you been an agate hunter long?
The road was good but I took 423 south to 414-500 then to 123. Its a bigger road and easier to drive on with a smaller car. I have been hunting agates for about 3 years ever since I found my first one at Two Hearted. I added short video of my agate to my channel.@@upperpeninsulabeautiful
Normally I do...but my pastor from church just loaded me up with wooden planks from a hundred year old log cabin. I had to take the waders out of the truck😥 Thank you for watching.

Hey Jim, so I borrowed a metal detector from a friend a couple weeks ago...you've got some great ideas...metal detecting areas of the UP could be a neat addition. Many years ago I went to the western UP in search of float copper. Was an awesome trip...despite the lack of float copper I found. That said, Upper Peninsula Beautiful is more than just agates. I would certainly like to incorporate some other things like you mentioned. I looked for native American artifacts while down in Arkansas digging diamonds. It is addictive.
