I have the HP Reverb G2, as my upgrade from the very old Oculus Rift Gen1. I have been waiting for a headset like the Pimax Crystal Super 57 PPD QLED headset to replace my HP Reverb G2. Not only does it look like the best headset to be out to date, but is also quite affordable, compared to anything else that is close to it. Some costing up to $5,000 or more. O.O Would wait for the 12K, but I have a bad feeling that will not be out till 2030 or later. If you don't use two fiber optic cords coming from two 5090 RTX GPUs to the headset. And I don't want to wait that long for the 12K. The Pimax Crystal Super 57 PPD QLED will be good enough for an upgrade, so long as it is as good as advertised. Is my hope it will be.

I wish there was more useful information in this video. All I'm seeing is a string of random influencers saying "pimax good". Then a segment on a new subscription idea, which is copying the old mobile phone network contract plan; only talking about the Crystal Light, since the original Crystal failed so badly. Another superfluous usage of 'retina' in relation to a display, which has never been good marketing, even when Apple did it. Don't get me wrong, better displays are good, but your lenses still haven't achieved anything considered 'good' and you still haven't succeeded in shipping a wider FOV version in your previous Pimax HMDs. Your little chart comparing headsets also seems to include what sounds like a Bigscreen Beyond or similar. Only difference is, they've successfully launched a product that works without issues.

if pimax make the super like crystal light but with DFR, about 600- 900 usd $ , its done , no one will buy something else other then pimax, and then pimax can rest for a very very long time . oo and make it smaller more round its too jaggy .

So many promises, yet their headsets all have a lot of quality problems to even dying within a year or two. Instead of promising yet another new headset every half year, why not concentrate on one model and get the quality up to par so the headset won't die just out of warranty (mind you, EU has a mandatory 2 years factory warranty).

Great bringing out new things to create hype, but your current headsets ARE NOT FINISHED. Finish your other products first, stop charging thousands for headsets that are poorly built, rubbish sound, rubbish tracking, bad comfort. The audacity to charge people extra for dmas earphones and a lighthouse tracking module after they pay 1600 euro is just gross considering the build. Then your software is dismal, crashes and so on. Customer support not good either.

Very interested in this. So if I had something like a RTX 4080, would that be considered sufficient horsepower for results such as this with dynamic foveated rendering? I’m really trying to avoid the money associated with the 4090

why the numbers never add up, I mean ppd, fov and display resolution!? 120x57=6840 not ~3800 declared by pimax. in crystal we have 2880 pixels divided by 35 ppd results in 82 fov.

Awesome, glad you came out with another VR headset. How about making this one work seamless without connection issues or having to deal with one lens not working, flashing lenses, battery not charging and not having to constantly resetting the connections and software to get it to work. Maybe make it work like a monitor where just a simple connection to your Video Card and no software involved will work, software can be used later to adjust or implement those special features you have such as PPI, pass through, IR tracking etc. You can forget the subscription...nobody in their right mind is going for a subscription.

Is the 50ppd 135 gov lens a pancake lens or aspheric? When will the 135 fov lens be available? Probably will wait for that.

Lol, I have a PS5 and the VR2, my 4080 graphics card alone was more than that. For what it is the PSVR2 is impressive. I also have a Vive Pro that I havent ran on this PC yet but I'm looking forward to getting the Gear VR lenses swapped in and crank up the settings, my last old PC had a 1080ti so I'm expecting great things.

Having just set up Pimax Play today, to set up fresh, i have to concur: Pimax Play is even more straightforward than Meta. It just works. Its simple, and seems extremely bloat free.

Too many user complaints for me to make this investment.

They know they are selling broken products and instead of taking them off the market until its sorted out they release new broken products. People need to stop falling for lame marketing hype and paid youtubers and take this companies bad reputation seriously.

I just got a crystal light, base stations, knuckles, studioform headstrap, prescription lenses, and dongles (faceplate is out of stock). My Pimax play version 1.35 does not have an option to switch to lighthouses. Controllers/stations are on and working but won't calibrate in Openvr Spacecalibrator and remain offset by about 3 feet. Almost $2000 into this and I have a worse setup than my $300 Pico 4. They clearley are trying to force people to buy the faceplate even though they don't even have them in stock. The last thing I want to do is give them even more money. The Pimax controllers jitter all over the place and my knuckles are sitting on the shelf. Fxck Pimax. I will never purchase a Pimax product again. Fxcking sleaze bags.

Don’t recommend ever buying pimax. I got the pimax crystal light and never worked. Black screen only. I have a higher level gaming laptop, legion 7 with rx6800s card what they DONT TELL YOU is a direct port to card is required which laptops don’t have. Dp to c adapters don’t work. I was on travel for 2 week return period so stuck with a worthless paperweight. Other RUclipsrs are also recommending against. My opinion and my experience, my recommendation. Couldn’t have been more disappointed.

Im coming from Reverb G2 (Im still using today) and I already like the Super. Everything is right, the size, the QLED (instead of crap microOLED), headstrap, off ear audio solution (similar to G2), 120degs of viewing angle (lets hope vertical will not disappoint), whats here not to like? Edit: I think if you deliver what was here promised, you instantly killed your competition like Varjo and Somnium (aka scum company).

Awesome…you can see the defective aspheric lenses that come with the headset in a new smaller frame. Will make the shipping costs to refund the headset cheaper at least. 😂 I love how they said they shipped the crystal light in time hahaha. That was the first batch of 50 units. Everyone else had to suffer months of delays due to aspheric lense production issues. Ohhh another stat…RMA <1%. That’s because they don’t allow you to send your headset back. They send out new defective lenses as a blanket cure for visual issues. Technically that’s not an RMA instance haha. Then, people (like me) just gave up when the new replacement lenses were still defective and demanded a refund rather than full RMA. Clown behaviour from a company that focuses more on marketing and money than quality control and transparency. Never believing a word this company says ever again.

PIMAX, you should be ashamed of how you treat your unique clients. This is not an isolated incident but appears to be a consistent approach rather than a mistake. I am owned your Crystal product for a year, and it has not been an easy experience. But when crystal works it EPIC experience ! but there are still numerous simple bugs that remain unresolved. like simple tracking and floor jumping 1m up or down which casing headset calibration over and over - some days even 10-20 times !! While you may have the best product on the market, treating customers in this manner will drive them away! This level of service would never be acceptable in Europe, where replacing a faulty product resets the warranty period from the date of the new product's delivery. On top of that if you do not fix or deliver new working product in 30 days, you must refund all the money !! I have yet to see any company actually acknowledge VRChat There are a ludicrous amount of people there everyday spending literaly thousands and thousands of hours there But yet every single company wants to hyperfixate on these simulation games or shooter games that I've honestly barely seen people play

Customer service and support is very bad. Visuals are the only thing going for this. Everything else is rubbish. Tracking is rubbish, build quality is rubbish, Comfort is rubbish, charging 1600 and not including dmax head phones and light house plate is a sleezy move. Software is rubbish. Don't bother with this company.
