unbelievable WOODS | HIGHLANDS | NC500
NC500 Highland Woods Walk
I thought the last walk in Little Assynt was magical but these woods are something else, it even has a Wishing Tree and all paths lead to the shoreline, some paths are long taking you to a sandy beach and others are shorter that takes you to a pebbly beach.
The higgledy piggedly nature of the paths, coupled with massive moss covered boulders and strange mossy shapes in the ground. As well as the twisted shapes of the trees swaying in the wind, really made this woodland walk very special.
If you do come to this area, I urge you to check it out. It is really easy to get to, with free parking by Lochinver Harbour. A link below with more info:

such a lovely place, with roaming sheep on the roads (keep your dogs on a lead at all times!) cattle, goats and we spotted Highland cattle yesterday but couldn't see them today, oh and Al Paca's plus a couple of donkeys. always found old ruins, abandoned buildings very very fascintating. Growing up in 70s London, there was a lot of decrepit abandoned buildings that we (kids) searched (being able to roam free back in the day) It helps that I love history, especially how people used to live. Domestic history a particular favourite! So after two years from my first visit, its so sad to see it slowly getting worse....

absolutely love this region, it has been our favoured holiday destination for years. Newly discovered walk which is wheelchair friendly, has 2 (not 1 but 2!) compost toilets, and winds around a few very quaint loches. Great views of Suilven and Ben More in the distance. well the holidays are here!! woohoo.... it is late July and what has marked July but the constant blanket of grey cloud in the sky. Oh for sure we have had the odd sunny day but boy, it has been remarkably cloudy nearly everyday. Funnily enough I really like this cool weather but it is still very odd weather for a summer month. Well after a week of illness which I am pretty sure was covid, all the symptoms were there. I am now recovered about 90% so back to the Plot for more work on the second bed. Needed as I have 4 fast growing courgette seedlings that will need planting very soon. Hi Kerry - I'm not sure if you noticed, most of the trees were covered in lichen - a very interesting mixture of organisms. "A lichen is a hybrid colony of algae or cyanobacteria living symbiotically among filaments of multiple fungi species, along with a yeast embedded in the cortex or "skin", in a mutualistic relationship." There are a couple of very damp places near me, and the trees there are similarly covered in it. Actually, it's hanging off them. A very nice video!
I have been doing intermittent fasting for a while now. I eat my meals within a 6 hour time frame. (between 12 and 18 hours).You can of course vary the times to suit you best. This way you have less blood sugar fluctuations and therefore your body has more time to recover. I really feel much healthier. It is not difficult, in the beginning it takes some getting used to not having breakfast but a few large cups of tea/black coffee helps to get through the morning. After a week I was already used to it. Thank you for the beautiful walk , and I will continue to follow you ❤
My daughter has had plantar fasciitis and wears a support sock.
Beautiful place. We always have cottages for our holidays you can't beat them. We stayed in a big house last year to garve in the woods right by the side of a big bridge and flowing river. We hired minibus all my family came with us.

Looks spectacular Kerry 😮 I feel for you as I had plantar fasciitis three years ago for around 6 months, I bought a few pairs of sliders (worth paying out for the more expensive pair(s)! I went to Suffolk with some friends and within a week wearing these sliders my foot stopped hurting!! Keep up with all your lovely vlogs 👍🏻❤️
Thank you Sue🥰💕 do you mean the inserts/supports you put in shoes? Do you remember what yours were? I've got some recently and they do help but not got rid as yet! Docs sent me to physio for exercises (I've started) and am booked in for steroid injections asap! It's so painful isnt it, am glad you recovered from it, I really am🥰 I've had this on and off since 2010! New docs have been brilliant tbf. They've said if injections don't work, they'll refer me for shockwave therapy (on the feet lol) bloomin' feet🥴xx
@@Kerry.Morton sorry you’ve been suffering for so long, maybe mine wasn’t as bad! I bought a cheaper pair from Primark and B&M but they’re nowhere near as comfortable. How cool would it be if you tried them and they worked instead of having injections? 🤞🏻 plantar does one soon!

As a Scottish woman living in Yorkshire your videos of that area is beautiful and I have many happy memories I have shared with my husband in that area.its a really beautiful caming place ❤❤
Being half scottish (my dad is a glaswegian) I so love Scotland but the highlands are a late discovery because I only ever went to see Gran in Glasgow. She would have killed me if I went elsewhere lol and money being tight (plus I couldn't drive til aged 33) going to see Gran AND going somewhere else was impossible but then I didnt know what i was missing😂anyway loved my Gran, going anywhere else instead of visiting her would have been unthinkable. Big fan of Para Handy, Hamish Macbeth and Still Game! Oh not forgetting Monarch of the Glen!! 😀🏴💕 (ooh still have my broons and oor wullie collection😂)

Fascinating, Kerry. The two cottages are basically the same layout. A pity about the other one.
They are Philip, the other thou had literally no access path to it and very boggy land in front of it, very likely the cause of its downfall. Althou I've seen ruins here in rescuable states that are right on the road. Shame

Going down was a bit easier Jen😀👍💕 (thankfully!) Jack was with me and he couldn't go up on his own (a bit too young and inexperienced) I'm inexperienced but but don't have youth as an excuse😂had to go up for his sake as he really wants to go up mountains! I've promised that we will go a bit higher next time! 🥴so I better get my fitness improved lol

Hi Margaret 👋😀💕I do, althou was drawing other peoples houses! That's actually a really good idea, am quite rigid about what I draw (usually houses!) But lately I've drawn a horses head (for someone and they were very happy) and I started a much loved budgie 😂 tbf I need to draw Suilven the mountain, we really love that mountain.

Aww thank you Jacs, my Dad says thank you, bearing up💕💕 am really glad we did it (jack was with me) it's made me determined to improve my fitness (which is rated at awful currently 🥴) so next summer we can go up an even taller mountain💪😀💕walks in my local area (via here) will be my training programme. I need to get back into it for the baby coming as I won't be able to push a pram and walk with my crutches at the same time. I will do it though,going to start properly cooking again, especially as I'm at home it's just the chopping, etc. I said to you they thought I had that for years had acupuncture, etc, and then they eventually said it was nerve damage, and my feet will always be sore the way they are.
