  • firstly a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who commented on my last vlog, was feeling a bit low with the thought of giving up the plots, even though I know it is the right thing to do. Your comments were so lovely, supportive and heartwarming. I appreciate each and everyone of you, I really do. Thanks again you lovely bunch....
Soooo with the above in mind, it helped push me out of the door, go rummaging in the garage for some old wellies (2 sizes too big!) and get cracking on the home plots. Well at least get started, so thank you for that too.
It was great to have Rosie's company as well.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching....
    Kerry

Your tree could be a damson plum or maybe a crab apple both can be preserved. Good luck clearing the jungle, you work so hard at your looking after your family, cooking, working at your job, it’ll be so much easier not having to travel 🎉. Another bonus is that Rosie will love spending more time with you.

That bush is a bullace or wild plum. Really yummy small blush/golden fruit. We have 2 trees in my garden. They seem to be common in Sussex and are wild.

Love the Merlin app! We have loads of Red Kites where we are. From what people have told me I think your crow would have been attacking the Red Kite, not the other way around, believe it or not! 😮 Red Kites are scavengers and only eat dead, young or injured - very lazy!! 😂😂😂

Great vlog. I see a spark of happiness in your eyes and face. Remind yourself of all you accomplished on plot 25+1 in a year and a half. Happy that you are really thinking this through and bringing your plants with you to your home garden. I know it's sad but you learned alot, produced alot of food in that year and a half. You will be happy on days like this where you won't use gasoline to get to allotment for it to be raining or other people making it uncomfortable to film. Now, you can work on your garden when the mood moves you...stop and start..only walk to house for something you forgot to bring in your basket to the allotment....a quick trip to the bathroom...you can adjust your meal plan for what your cooking by looking out the kitchen window for what is available at your fingertips. Most importantly, you and your family (together) can gaze from the kitchen window, covered pathway or patio at all your hard work and accomplishments!! Rosie will be happy to be with you. Oh, one funny thing you mentioned about the aerial situation with the birds vs the planes flight pattern always aligned with your visits to the allotment. Looking forward to another slurp with you. So proud of you. 😊

Nice to see you in your garden , will look forward to,seeing doing your gardening here. It will be so much better for yourself. I think I would be checking what you have been told with your septic tank issues. That’s so naughty, your old plots needed a lot of hard work , but look how lovely you got that. Kerry. It all takes time, but I know you will do it, and it will be just as nice , just don’t expect to much to soon. Hope you don’t come across any snakes out there or slow worms, if it was I would be running for my life and never return, hehe. They are not a plum are they , a yellow plum looks very much like that, but I cannot remember it’s description.

You’ll get there Kerry and with Rosie’s help 😂 it’s not going to take long and you’ve already got a lot of plants so it’s just transferring and deciding which plants grow where.
I have just completed my bike shed and planted a Alpine roof on top of it . Also I’ve relocated my pond due to an old Ash tree having Ash die back and now every time we get strong winds leaves and branches keep falling off it which is causing damage to where the pond was. Looking forward to the next video of (plot 25 +1 Home coming ❤)

It looks like you are going to have a good fruit harvest there at least this year. If you are unable to dig up the boysenberry from the allotment you could take cuttings and grow from them and put them in your garden plot. I know how much you love the boysenberry. I bet that honeysuckle smells amazing in the evenings. Good luck with the clearing. Shame about the septic tank, surely you can get some legal recompense if the previous owner didn’t disclose the problem in the TA6 disclosure document? I am no expert but might be worth seeking some advice from those that are.

Sounds like the field/drain/leach lines from your septic are clogged. If you have field lines in the UK. This is a series of perforated pipes that are set in trenches and buried with aggregates (½- to 2½-inch gravel or ½- to 4-inch rubber chips) and soil. These drain lines are at a minimum depth of 6 inches and are typically 18 to 36 inches wide. The individual drain lines will usually be 8½ to 10 feet apart. Or your septic box and drain field may be too small for your household (loads of clothes, showers/baths, dish washing, flushing toilets). It could even have been put in without allowing for a washing machine. I never wash more than one load of clothes a day to give the tank a chance to drain. Try to keep plants away from the septic system and be careful digging, weeding and planting (even raised beds of no till beds) in and near the field and tank. Lawn grass is all that is recommended to cover the septic and drain field. Love you.
