I do spray my flowers with garlic in a soapy water . Bug gun is the best , but a good start. Garlic oil is what you need I just squash it right down and put in hot water , then take garlic out but use the water. Blinking creatures . If not one thing eating your stuff it’s another . Maybe in your case a bug gun sprayed would be good . Yes it is the rain that brings them out . And there has been a lot hasnt there.

I ask because I wondered if they would be happy in pots/troughs? I love them and their bright colour. Hard to believe it's the first week in June and still do wet. My cherry tree is the same. It's been like that every year. I think last year I just removed affected leaves. Aphids have destroyed my lupins. Voles are eating the roots of my squash plants . . . . I need to tackle them with my castor oil solution. There's an issue with one side of my plum tree. I'm not sure if that's aphids or maybe the tree is dying 🤷♀ The crows have killed a few birds and left a mass of feathers on my lawn. They were carrying on the other day and when I shouted at them they swiped another bird out of its nest 😢. Nature can be cruel. On a brighter note, I harvested a few broad bean pods tonight which we had with our evening meal. We had rhubarb from the garden with greek yoghurt and chia seeds at lunch time. The strawberries are turning red and taste delicious. I protect the strawberries with those little organza bags. I've got 2 apples on my apple tree 🤣 The tomato plants are fruiting woo-hoo! We've got so many varieties of birds that visit our garden. Robins, blackbirds, blue-tits, wagtails, thrush etc and I nearly forgot the 6 ducks that were waddling about on Sunday. There were some oystercatchers in our neighbours garden too 😳

Hi Kerry. Black fly are a nightmare. Cut off affected leaves. Blast with spray jets of water. I companion plant nasturtiums ...that helped my beans last year. Some say neem oil will work...others say not!!! Garlic n washing up liquid diluted in a spray may also help. You have to keep on top of the little blighter...their reproduction rate is insane!! Good luck. Lady bug larvae are expensive!!! Sheesh!! Much love. Xxx
Hi Mel👋😀💕 I've been using garlic spray this morning (more in an upcoming vlog🤪) plus I'm seeing baby nasturtiums coming up from last year, maybe I can move them to areas most needed. Oh just thought the garlic water was to deter slugsnsnails so I'll put some on my cherry tree tomz😆 did remove the affected leaves as well. Oooo gonna post the pic sooooon 🥰🥰🥰

I think you will find that ants are bringing and farming the blackfly, if you can sort out the ants the blackfly dissappear as natural predators take them. I give the ants some sugar syrup as an alternative food this usually works for me.
I hate ants I've doubled up on the awful powder they even eat my patio door step cill it's all rotten u can actually hear them from inside munching! Keeps my cat occupied for ages...so powder it is....😡
I’d cut those damaged leaves off to stop it spreading and be ready with spray for the other leaves, challenging isn’t it ❤️

@@Silverdale15 the magpies seem to be keeping away this year. Previous years, it's been the magpies causing all the carnage.

I got me one of the pump sprays blasted them off with water it worked on my gooseberries and roses
