Did you have two sets of filters? Or one skimmer and one filter? And was one was a screenmatic maybe? I am surprised that the return back to the pond was so strong. Was it really that strong with only gravity? Thanks!

Great advice thanks 👍… I use a 9000 pressure filter as a pre-filter for a large 3 bay filter on my 7000 litre pond with Koi and they work well together. I just flush the pressure filter and the first bay now and again and rarely ever flush the last 2 bays.

For mine.. it's just the machine that does the pulsing. Not the nozzle. (When I turn it on it immediately starts pulsing. Without pressure/water though. It's just little energy bursts.) Anyone know anything about that? 😬

I just purchased the Oase Biosmart 10000 and your video is very helpful in understanding the extra parts to purchase for making a cleaner look around my pond. I have had my large pond running over the years using a pressure filter, gravity filter, and even a pool filter without sand media, but this is the first large size gravity filter that I hope will be the last filter I ever have to purchase. I am looking forward to being subscribed to your channel now for future pond pointers.

Thanks for all the excellent advice. That pond you show at the end is beautiful!! I'm planning on making what's probably more like a drinking puddle for the wildlife in my garden! I thought lining it with gravel would be the way to go but now, following your advice, I will keep it free of stones and just make the perimeter as attractive and accessible as possible. I'm off to check out your other vids now, to see if I can find anything that looks more like my puddle! 😂

May I ask what the best solution is for a wall caving in on my pond? Is it due to water getting between my liner and the soil? Someone told me it was a mud slide.

Any advice regarding a stream?! Gravel in the bottom… do we leave it running… how deep?

I got one three years ago it lasted 11 months. Got a more expensive one and gone again even with a 40-year guaranty, and when we got it, they won't blame the installer. Not the product. F-----g s--t stuff doesn't tack the risk. If it had gone down another 6 inches, I would have lost them all.

Im in the planning fase and my pond wil be around 25.000 liter. I want to put in a vario pump with max capacity of 30.000 liter/hour. Would a 4 inch amd 2 inch bottom drain be wise. (4 inch on the far end)

I heard it was supposed to move smooth pebble, the gravel holds onto muck I don’t know just something heard that’s what I used and it’s been great big, med, and small pebble

I basically agree with everything, it must be mention, if the length and girth of the Pond is too little for the carrying capacity of fish too many plants can starve the water of oxygen at night, wich can be an issue during a severe powercut. I believe you said chemicals in the filter, dont know if I misheard or misunderstood if you where just referring to the benificial bacteria.

this video is wrong waste pipe is not abs pipe its made out of pvc yes you can by abs pipe but dont confuse that with pvc waste pipe. as for pvc pressure pipe its stronger and more resistant to uv vs waste pipe that has a thinner wall.

hello here is a question as you know liner makers have seams on their liners to cut costs down is this an issue when installing tank connectors ? some times a seam is in a place you dont want it to be can this be worked around with. many thanks

Rocks add biological filtration to a pond.

I get your point but can you imagine how boring it would be for a fish to live in a black room with nothing in it .

I have a mature koi pond . With 27 fish . I have treated them for Costa and fluke killing my filter bacteria so adding fish slowly is not an option because there already in there . I have stopped feeding but ammonia is creeping up still nitrite is still fine . What do you suggest other than small daily water changes regards Ben

Your not filtering your pond fast enough I’m no keyboard warrior I’m a certified pond installer and you won’t have that issue if you circulate your water quick enough through your filters

Always several schools of thoughts. Personally I love the rocks and pebbles. Yes they will change color as your pond matures. I do end up cleaning some algae off a few rocks and my waterfalls. As to the build up at the bottom. I can stir up the pebbles and get very little debris floating out. I’ll throw in some muck reducing bacteria every so often. My plants are all in baskets. Lots of water movement plus koi constantly stirring things up and grazing helps as well. I don’t do any major cleaning once a year either. I use a sieve pre filter then biological at my waterfalls. One small bog filter waterfall too. Plants simply thrive in that. To each his own and every pond is different. This works for me on all levels. On one more note personally I think you need a nicer background than sitting in your truck to make these videos. I do enjoy listening to you but think some different pictures to break things up a bit would be nicer. But again that’s just me. Thank you. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
