Sugar is as addictive or more so than many illicit substances. And far more readily available. Good on you for cutting down. I also have a problem with constant snacking, especially on fatty/sugary foods. Best of luck.

There was a time when I ate a whole bag of Cheese Balls as big as a pillow! Man I was addicted! Now I wouldn't touch it! This will change for you but maybe start shopping at Natural food markets I've found a recipe for Avocado 🥑 pudding which tastes sweet but actually has no added sugar! Top 🎩 with Blueberries 🫐 ! Yes sugar withdrawal is a thing!

Me too. White sugar seems to be a legal but very strong drug unfortunately. 🤮 It's everywhere in processed food, even bread. I tried many times to reduce it, never worked for me. I will try to change my eating habits once more: Only natural joghurt with blueberries and bananas for lunch and a green smoothie from some kind of salad for dinner. Perhaps a selfmade soup from time to time. Markus Rothkranz and his Yt contributions for a healthier life will give me motivation for achieving this transformation. Since many years, I only eat two times a day, the first meal not before 12.00 o'clock a.m. But I eat way too much white sugar. "No one needs this crap". Hilarious how you tell it, but so true. Your honesty and how you address these issues leaves me flabbergasted Erika. 😊

I really have to watch my sugar! I check Labels I go with fruit 🙂🍑 natural sugar Please be careful with that! I've struggled with Neuropathy! Had to change my entire eating habits,! And yes it is an addiction! I used to eat whole sleeves of Cookies! Tater Chips! Pizza 🍕! There are natural ways to combat this! Processed food is not good! I avoid the middle aisles at the store! Thank you for being so open and honest! Your taste buds will change over time! When you eat a Mediterranean/Pan Asian diet you can eat more because it's nutritionally balanced No sugar highs! Whole old fashioned oats Nuts and Sunflower seedsWe have a Mediterranean Market/Deli in a city 🏙️ about 20 or 30 miles from here We go there about every few months to stock up on awesome foods! Look into Dr Joel Furman's book The End of Diabetes I'm a former junk food addict It took me awhile but it's so worth it! Good luck with your journey to heal,!

For someone who claims to pig-out on sugar, you look hella good. Which begs the question: how much sugar (or carbs for that matter) is too much? I have family members who still look like Jabba the Hutt who've been on low-carb diets for the past several years. It's just so frustrating and demoralizing for them. They've done everything right (via diet and exercise). Nevertheless, their lack of any success continues to be a riddle, wrapped in a mystery...inside an enigma. 🤔

Your body doesn't feel like crap because you eat too much, rather it's the kinds of food that you eat. If you eat like crap, you feel like crap. If you eat clean and healthy, you feel clean and healthy. You could even stand (like some of those doctors you talk about said as well) to eat more and gain a bit of weight, however this would more so be if you felt unhappy with your bodyweight for some reason, of which there could be many. Hope this helps :)

I think the only way to avoid eating bad is by forcing yourself to make a full commitment to health/fitness for life - treating it like it's your religion. I did that years ago to try and deal with clinical depression without meds. Strict diet, cardio and lifting everyday. For a lot of people that's too much work, discipline, sacrifice, etc. which is probably why so many people are overweight. You lucked out with genetics if you can eat all that sugar and stay slim, but it sounds like it effects you mentally. Thanks for posting this vid. Been slipping too much and this reminded me I have to get back on track. Been feeling pretty crappy lately and I'm sure it's because I've been cheating a little too much with "treat" food. Pizza mainly. Tastes so delicious, but then I have zero energy and feel like the world is pointless for days afterwards.

As a fellow sugar addict, I feel your pain: it is cheap, legal, and everyone is pushing it on you. Perhaps try switching from the worst sugars to the less damaging ones first: fruits! And then slowly switch to less sweet ones and perhaps to the sower ones to satisfy the strong taste cravings. Definitely stay away from artificial sweeteners as they keep finding issues with them - even the ones that are natural extracts! Good luck

That's some heavy stuff. Thank you so much for sharing all that. Could be something serious, but it already sounds to me like it's secondary to the issues you've been talking about on here from Day One. By that, I mean that sugar is what you have instead of friends. Add a side of guilt and low self-esteem, and you can stay sugary indefinitely. Or get yourself some good friends, dear. Oops, you already did. Point of fact: You have at least one friend. Probably several. Things are starting to look pretty good for you, I think.

I don't imagine you will be reading this since I am responding so late. But your video personally is just too long for me to wade through. But that doesn't mean your video wasn't enjoyable and valuable and authentic and relatable. So I managed to watch it in pieces except I didn't want to go through the past the introduction. The basic story that I'd like to tell you though is that in the 1970s are there abouts when the federal drug administration was reviewing tobacco it was also at the same time reviewing sugar. And by one count the panel that was overseeing the investigation into sugar was headed by a man that was employed by the sugar industry. So the conspiracy theory is is that sugar as well as tobacco or nicotine has as much addictive impact or negative impact as smoking does. Now I'm not a scientist so I can't verify this claim. But I find that your experience follows closely with that of those who get addicted to smoking. And shame on your parents. It seems that you are a wise person in a young body and that you deserve a better outcome. But as you were young you seem to have the wisdom and knowledge of what is healthy and beneficial to you. That's a great start. And if you are truly addicted to sugar will your behavior is not abnormal or out of line or your efforts or unsuccessful efforts are nothing to be ashamed of or humiliated. Addiction is a very difficult mental disability that apparently has been reinforced by your parents' behavior. And unfortunately the therapists you have seen have been inadequate. Even as retired therapist of 18 years in general counseling, I don't know if I would have been able to have offered any better conclusion if you haven't even seen me. I've mentioned this before but it's very difficult to do something yourself. Even exercising or doing something new is quite difficult. So as a broken record, I would be quite interested in seeing some short clips of your efforts of meeting other people. I spent most of my young youth to scared or shy to take risks to develop my social skills. And much to my regret I missed out on a lot of happy and productive relationships as a result. So for me the bottom line for you is get out there and do the same for developing friends and more intimate relationships just the way that you are brave and courageous in trying new skills and other activities that in some respects most people wouldn't be doing just because they're either lazy or not as courageous as you are. If I was younger I would be out there in a minute trying to share my life and develop together all the interest that you have shown in your videos. But I can't and I won't because I have other long-term commitments and relationships. But I have confidence in you. Just the way you handle yourself in your videos like this one demonstrates to me that you have the mental fortitude and the skills and the for female the physical attributes such that you don't have any reason in my opinion not to be able to have the happy life that you deserve, especially with someone's you can share it with.

Might be a carbohydrate addiction. Things like pretzels and those other snacks are all high in carbs (sugar is a carb, too). I'm a diabetic and ANY carb (sugar, starches, breads, crackers, preztels, etc) all raise my blood sugar. So you were just unknowingly substituting one carb for another. Understanding the problem is a huge step in addressing it... I, too, was like you at your age, able to eat all of that stuff (I don't even want to know how many calories I took in daily) and I was about normal weight. But I was super active (in college, walking many miles a day on campus, working as a theatre technician so lots of physical work, etc). But once that slowed down and I graduated and got a desk job, it caught up with me fast! So yeah, it's best to find a way to get this under control before it goes to far!

This is what I did I learned how to extended fast and intermittent fast …this taught me how to function on ketones and taught me the different layers of ‘triggers’ that can go away and how scheduling meal windows helps until you get a better feel for eating whatever the best amount of whatever best food at the whatever best time Second I look for good chemistry…I took basic chemistry in college and I read food labels …so I look for ingredients that will keep electrolytes in proper ratios I try to stick to whole fresh foods that don’t need labels or have minimal basic ingredients or need minimal cooking For good quality food and I personally think ‘European’ because I was born in England Fruit, nuts, cheese, dark chocolate Good quality raw mixed nuts and seeds for ‘crunch’ Good quality avocado for ‘creamy’ Good quality salts for minerals Good quality fresh fruit and vegetables…I like ‘Cutie’ tangerines or mandarins or whatever and mixed berries from my garden (strawberries and blackberries) Good quality beverages for gut health …I use Oli Pop …filtered water, fat free milk, fresh squeezed orange juice …the occasional decaf coffee I make my own salad dressing from good quality olive oil I get a variety of good quality proteins Eggs, nuts, seeds, tuna, salmon, beef, pork. chicken, lentils, beans Basically the variation of good quality proteins and good quality fibers will make the satiated feeling and provide various nutrients

Make the switch, from sugar to non sugar. 1 can of coke has ten teaspoons of sugar. You can get the sugar free version, and is just as good. Use sweeter in coffee/tea instead of sugar. Buy large bags of sweetener for baking. With the effort of not buying sugar, you can reduce easily by 200-300 teaspoons a week. Yes that's a lot. As you are still young enough, to metabolize it. But no one should. Either it leads to weight gain, but worse it it will harm your pancreas. You can quickly develop diabetes, which you would not enjoy. And you would feel a lot sicker then you do now. There are so many substitutes for all your snack cravings that can be made with low to no sugar. You can make ice cream with a blender, a banana and ice cubes. Low sugar. You can eat like a queen and cut out the sugar. Get your A1C tested to see if your ok. Easy peasy. Enjoy.

I think you’re really smart to realize this in your 20’s. You want to protect your amazing looks for the long run. After a few weeks, you should notice that you have more energy and motivation. Read the label folks, they put sugar in everything to keep you buying their product. That’s amazing that you have the motivation to bake. Maybe you can lessen the sugars gradually or find fruit substitutes like blue berries or raisins. Thank you for this topic, I think everyone wants to feel healthy and live without health problems.

As long as you ain’t smoking a pack a day, and chugging down booze, the body adapts pretty well to a high sugar diet. Obviously living on Twinkies isn’t good, but a balanced diet with a good amount of sugar, especially if you’re healthy and active isn’t the worst thing. Besides, we ain’t here for a long time, we’re here for a good time…and eating a half of cheesecake, is definitely a good time.

And wont think “ oh this is a great idea, lets get her to do this daily” hope that makes sense. trust me😊

Like others but simpler: 1. Eat only at meal time. Be busy otherwise. Staying focused on making a living is key. 2. There is no such thing as a snack 3. Dinners are a pain. I buy prepared meals at a fit meals place so greens, proteins and carbs but all unprocessed food. 4. Breakfast is oats, raisins and almonds 5. Drink only water 6. Give yourself a treat on Saturday and drink an Italian Soda. The key in all of this is to get busy making a living. So busy that you don’t think about eating.

Do you have a job?? That could be a great place to meet people. If you don't, get any job just to make friends. Work in a restaurant or bar, people are usually very friendly in that industry. Take kiwi out for walks too, great way to break the ice. Try doing those ask people questions in public videos. I bet you would have zero problems getting people to participate especially if you ask the type of questions that let people talk about themselves. Most people love talking about themselves or giving opinions/advice.
