Dr. Eric! Thank you for your help. I'm a 62 yo man that is working with 3 doctors regarding BPH, weak bladder, unable to void completely, and ED. I'm on seven different drugs (and their side effects), self cathetering myself when I can't pee. My next step was prostatectomy. However, I've been following some of your common sense exercises and I'm seeing improvement! Amazing! Thank you, sir!
If it comes to it, I hope your docs have given you surgical options between nothing and prostatectomy - there are a number of far less invasive and dangerous procedures involving simply shrinking the prostrate tissue that usually are conductive directly through the urethra with far less trauma and recovery time
@@AlbertHess-xy7ky well I went into surgery with prostate cancer. And after wards, I had a 2 cm hole in my colon... This is a real post. I am a real poster. I started following the 5-5-5method to stop urine dribble which I have dealt with for the last 15 years. I’ve even started stocking little towels to put in my underwear. The 5-5-5 method is a game changer for me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I’ve been doing the perineum pushes after peeing for decades ever since a guy told me it helps prevent any UTI infections. It just stuck with me for the last 30+ years. Good to see there is actually some science behind it!
Gentleman's Agreement... don't know what prompted you to come up in my feed, but the timing is impeccable! I'm dealing with leakiness, dribbling and mounting incontinence issues. Maybe your videos can help!
As a one who works in pathology, you do a great job with routine explanation and demonstration through clothing without getting kicked off u tube! I had to chuckle, especially with milking the last drips of urine out of urethra in perineum ! This type of information is great for guys that can be afraid/embarassed to ask…!
@ 8:02 Closed Caption (For the hearing impaired is spelling "perineum" as "panum" thus causing confusion for those who did not take A&P l and ll in school. Keep up the great lectures and shared wisdom, sir.
I fold some toilet paper and cover my penis, any dribble ends up on paper and not underwear. I always anticipate an accident so I'm prepared, then I discard it and flush. Because of this i always use the cubicle in public toilets. At home I've got all day no problem. I always urinate at home before going out. Thanks man for your advice.
Being uncut, it’s something we tend to deal with a lot. Pull the skin back to pee and reset afterward. The urine leaks into the foreskin and causes moisture which causes smells as the day goes by. It would be bad irritation to use TP to dry it up.
This is so true..I'm 66 and learned this in my early 20s. An extra 20 second dribble while standing over the commode also is sometimes accompanied with a rather nice sensation, a VERY minor orgasmic type. In other words, it's worth the try.
Years ago, there was a common graffito in men's rooms: No matter how you shake and dance the last few drops go in your pants. Maybe the 555 Process will really make that a thing of the past.
I had this problem about 20 years ago when I was in my 20s. It started after being at work for a long shift without a break and with a full bladder, I was climbing up and down a ladder with heavy boxes. After a week I was still having a constant urge to urinate and dribbling so I went to the doctor and he said I likely strained my sphincter muscle causing it to spasms and not fully close. He gave me a medication called Bentyl? to relax the spasms and it worked almost immediately.
Gentleman's Agreement. Most of my life I've already done the perinium pump to get rid of remaining urine, without knowing that's what I was doing. I'll try the 555 now. Thanks!
I have had urinating problems for many years now, I can't empty my bladder completely combined with incontinence and frequent visits to the toilet. I started doing part 3 of your 5-5-5 method about a year ago and I noticed that when do it, a little bit more of urine will come out and it helped a lot with my need to wake up several times at night to go pee.
Gentlemen's Agreement! Ok, so I've been checking out Kegel videos for awhile, and can I say...WOW. Thanks. Amazing. I've never seen/heard a better presentation on this.
Gentleman’s Agreement 🙏 56 yr old recently diagnosed with mild BPH. PSA screen & urology follow up 3 weeks. My young Urologist from McGill university recommended forcing a pee every two hours as rehab with nothing else. Will start your protocols and thank you.
I'm 70 and had cancer treatments which created scarring with my pelvic floor,. This means I can't do complete keegle squeezes anymore, nor can I "hold it until I get home". I found that using adult pads and diapers for men just wasn't practical. So what I have been doing for years is buying the small white terry bar towels (basically cheap small washcloths) and tucking them folded into quarters and placed between the flesh and material (to keep this comment family friendly). I have a supply of fresh ones in my desk drawer at work, or if I am going to be out for a long event, keep one in a ziplock bag in my suit pocket to replace the one I am wearing should I get a leak. Gone are the days of that little wet spot. Put the soiled one into the ziplock bag, then replace and wash them as needed. I miss the good old days when I could attend a beer garden and only have to make one trip. On the plus size (no pun intended) it also makes this old man look like he's packing heat.
I feel you (pardon the expression). I'm dealing with something similar (incontinence). But, if you do my earlier comment, press strongly (no need to pull) upward, that's a kind of manual keegle. That might help. I've been saying (since I started having issues myself) for years that you don't realize how of life depends (again, sorry for the pun) on a tidy groin/crotch :( Good luck!
I love your outlook and the fact that you found a solution that works for you. Thank you for leaving this comment. The part about "packing heat" had me 😂😂
Omg - that perineum pump is EXACTLY what I have discovered helps nuns the past few years. I thought I was weird having to do it, but there are great spurts of urine that come out !
Yes, I had a prostatectomy 12 years ago. and the after dribble was terrible. Literally like I had peed myself!! But after researching and discovering perineum pumping my problem was solved!! If you get the right spot, it's like ejaculating pee!! I do the milking motion until no more pee runs out. Usually about half a dozen times. The only trouble is if you're in a public urinal it's hard to do discreetly!! It's like you're playing with your balls!!🤣🤣🤣 I also always have a folded paper towel in my pocket, which I use to wipe the last few drops off!!
Great video and instructions, a couple of colleagues at work have wondered what i was doing at the urinal, I explained about the 555 method. It does work 👍
Gentlemen's Agreement. Had radical robotic prostatectomy 38 days ago. Surprisingly, the most important function (continence) is 95% there. Started Kegeling a month before surgery, and still do several times a day. I notice when I slack off, so try to stick to it. The "other function" - no longer works at all, not even a little. I hope to achieve some degree of return in that regard down the road.
Hey Dan, thanks for the comment. I'm glad to hear that your continence is improving- great work! If you had a nerve sparing prostatectomy your erectile function is going to take some time to come back. "Not medical advice but if this were me": Expect up to 18 months in most cases (not every time but I like to be realistic). Talk with your doctor about erection meds to direct more blood flow to your healing tissues, try your best to stimulate your penile tissue a few times per week, look into a penis pump, and get on top of your exercise both strength training and cardiovascular training and play the long game. If you need help, I'm here for you. Email me: hello@drericleckie.com
This came at a very good time I am having problems. On first visit to a new urologist he said I was holding too much and need a catheter I am doing my best to empty and noticed my tendency to shut down too quickly
Thanks for your comment Paul. Have your tried pelvic floor stretching? Sometime reducing the overall muscle tone of the pelvic floor muscles can help with bladder emptying. I've made a video on this topic here: ruclips.net/video/bJ8sEXlqLkU/видео.htmlsi=fhc-yVoJWXhK5JnV

Gentleman’s Agreement Thanks, Eric! 👍 I’ve been doing a variation of this strategy for a number of years and I’ve shared the 555 with several of my friends. Six years ago I had external beam radiation for prostate cancer. That was very successful, but my dilemma is that many times just BEFORE I get to the toilet, I have a fair amount of dribbling. Moments before I get to the toilet, I have some leakage. I try to squeeze my pelvic floor without success and end up with the “damp” underwear. Do you, Eric, or followers have a strategy for this? PS I try not to wait too long before going but it still happens about 10% of the time. My urologist’s only solution is to go sooner but that is not always the answer either.
Thanks for the comment and for the kind words. Yes, I have plenty of strategies. Book in for a free call with me and let me see how I can help you and your unique situation: calendly.com/dr_eric_leckie/20min

Who knew I could find such a revolutionary defensive tactic in the war against dribble! And as a woman, I didn’t even need to hold onto my sensitive parts in the process! It did remind me of the fact that men hold their own multiple times a day though so that was an update that reminds me not to feel totally secure when shaking hands with a dude! Most are not washing their hands every time, amirite boys? Thanks for the info! Helps a lot!😂
Having rezume procedure then 4 years later turp. I tried pills to stop over active bladder all the ones I tried made me light leaded dizzy. I had a pelvic floor stemulator put in. It has helped with urgency and frequency hasn't helped with the totally empting and dribbling problem. I promise I will try this 🤝
1:03 @DrEricLeckie it has helped with frequency and urgency. Still, some dribble afterward, but with different programs, hopefully that came be fine-tuned. This one doesn't need to be recharged it's the anonics.I have a spinal cord stemulator after failed back surgeries. I have the paddle lead in my sprine to help with pain, but it does need to be recharged once a week. I'm still in the fine.tuning stages with both seeing both drs in follow-ups.. But the exercise uses the chair I will try. Thank you for helping men with these types of problems. There isn't much help out there for us men. I guess they don't think because we're men, we don't mind p@$!ING on ourselves after having surgery that can cause the problem. But I do. And re searched help. Thanks again, Eric. I will be trying the pelvic raises in addition to my stemulator for my bladder to strengthen my squeezer area...lol
I had my prostate and all surrounding lymph nodes removed in 2022 because of highly aggressive level 9 stage 4 prostate cancer. I am having problems with urine leaking out of me constantly. Is there a way I can do these exercises to stop it? I am 59 years old.

Can personally endorse this advice. Somehow I figured out the contractions and perineum pump on my own over time when growing up. Was just tired of dribble and did literally everything down there until I saw results. I hate shaking afterwards as well (a mess) so instead I always use a single sheet of toilet paper to dab the tip after everything.
Gentlemens agreement! I'm gonna try it. I've recently been scoped by my urologist. He said the prostate is actually a bit small but the bladder is up against it. Said this is what's causing the drip. I'm actually not sure the 555 method will work for me due to my personal issue. I'm not sure of the surgery procedure but will ask before time. What are your personal thoughts? Will it work? Have you heard of my situation?
Hi Ronald, thanks for the comment. Send me an email so that I can get a bit more information about your situation before providing you my opinion. hello@drericleckie.com
That has more to do with the feminization ( wokeness) of America. ever notice you never hear the term toxic femininity? it's always related to men when they talk about "toxicity".
At first I thought the 5-5-5 Method was a new way to buy Real Estate. But, after watching this I am watching a clothed guy peeing. Love this. Thank you.
Pre-Gentleman’s Agreement - This is my first video so I’m taking a leap of faith here. Of course on occasion I have urinated and then gone to sit down afterward and the pressure applied to the perineum is that final push to get you to groan. Going to give this a shot cause no one enjoys THAT feeling.
Pls explain the first part, i didn't understand, do i start the process just at the end of peeing while still peeing a bit, or do i start after i finished peeing? English is not my language. Thank you!
Need your opinion...My urologist scheduled me for 8 one half hour sessions using electrical therapy....Is it worth it or can I do it myself by buying one of those devices on Amazon?.....From what I read it needs to be done everyday with 20 minute sessions ......Once a week sounds too little....Opinion anyone?
Yes, in most cases it should be fine. The goal after the prostatectomy is to make sure that you're fully emptying your bladder (this method will help you), while combining it with a kegels program and a hydration plan to regulate the fluids you put into your body. All three of these strategies will help you slow the leakage down
This seems like a lot lol …personally i do you the pelvic contractions but i just gently slide down the urethra with index on the urethra and thumb on top of the shaft and slide back and forth to get out excess. However im sure your method works and I’ll try it.
This is wild. I started watching the video thinking, “What technique could this guy offer that’s better than mine?”. Then I watched the rest and… we have the same technique! I was calling it ‘The Pump and Tug’, but ‘The 555 Method’ has a tad more class. 😂
Hi there, so after a prostate removal it's a bit more complicated as your internal structures are still healing. The 555 method can help you to fully empty your bladder while you complete kegels exercises to strengthen up your pelvic floor muscles and also monitor your fluids at the same time. Here's my video teaching you how to kegel: ruclips.net/video/-D2KLel-jp8/видео.htmlsi=g2eM2ycH6xzcNpLc

I also always have a folded paper towel in my pocket, which I use to wipe the last few drops off!!
Thanks Eric for all this information ! yes definitely gentleman's agreement 🤝 well done mate 👏 ✨👌
Thank you and welcome 🤝
gentlemen agreement indeed! love what you're doing for men's actual health!
Thank you, I appreciate that 🤝
Gentleman’s Agreement Thanks, Eric!
I will try this for sure. I appreciate you and the advice
You're welcome!
Nice Work Eric!
Been doing the 3rd step and it helps in 95% of instances. Not really 5 times, maybe fewer. But the stream that goes out 😂🎉
Great to hear!
Some people are paralyzed down there, they can't use their muscles. What do they do?
Fantastic information Dr. Thank you !
You're welcome!
After Turp Surgery, your advice is certainly helping. Thank you.

ROTFLMFGAO😂
yeah…555 would get you arrested and put on a registry if caught doing this in public
The deep breaths could be an issue.
LOL don't go and get yourself arrested. Maybe try the method in a cubicle/ stall first?
Having rezume procedure then 4 years later turp. I tried pills to stop over active bladder all the ones I tried made me light leaded dizzy. I had a pelvic floor stemulator put in. It has helped with urgency and frequency hasn't helped with the totally empting and dribbling problem. I promise I will try this 🤝
How did it work?
Hey Mickey, thanks for your comment. Look, you need more specific advice. i offer free 15-minute zoom calls. Take me up on this offer and book in, I'll help you out: calendly.com/dr_eric_leckie/20min
It helps to smile and look around for that third step 😁
Does this method work following a prostatectomy?
Gentleman’s Agreement!, Great video, thanks
Thank you Jorge, welcome 🤝
I've just watched this video but new sub here. Seems informative. Thanks.
Thanks Buddy Wayne, Welcome 🤝
Can personally endorse this advice. Somehow I figured out the contractions and perineum pump on my own over time when growing up. Was just tired of dribble and did literally everything down there until I saw results. I hate shaking afterwards as well (a mess) so instead I always use a single sheet of toilet paper to dab the tip after everything.
Great tip!
Very helpful information thanks.
My pleasure
Gentlemens agreement! I'm gonna try it. I've recently been scoped by my urologist. He said the prostate is actually a bit small but the bladder is up against it. Said this is what's causing the drip. I'm actually not sure the 555 method will work for me due to my personal issue. I'm not sure of the surgery procedure but will ask before time. What are your personal thoughts? Will it work? Have you heard of my situation?
Hi Ronald, thanks for the comment. Send me an email so that I can get a bit more information about your situation before providing you my opinion. hello@drericleckie.com
What's the best way to shrink the prostate?
Gentlemen's Agreement! Im gonna try it. Since I have urethral Stricture Disease i hope it will work and help me to pee better
Thank you and welcome 🤝
I read somewhere tha tis is better for men to sit on the toilet like women do to go for a pee, right or wrong for me it works.
You can sit or stand. Some guys find it easier to fully empty when sitting versus standing. Try them both out for yourelf
I do the same and it works for me also.
That has more to do with the feminization ( wokeness) of America. ever notice you never hear the term toxic femininity?
it's always related to men when they talk about "toxicity".
Comenzaré a practicarlo. Gracias!
Gentleman's Agreement....thanks Dr. E!
Thanks Sean, welcome 🤝

De nada. Espero que esse vídeo te ajude
At first I thought the 5-5-5 Method was a new way to buy Real Estate. But, after watching this I am watching a clothed guy peeing. Love this. Thank you.
lol !! Glad you enjoyed the video 😂
Cool video. Greets from Germany 😊
Thank you for your comment :)
Thank s for the very helpful info
You're welcome
I’m from Slovakia, thanks for the info. It works for me perfectly. You doing great 👍, for us.
“Gentlemen’s agreement “ 🤝
Thank you for the lovely comment. I'm glad the videos are helping you and welcome to the community 🤝
Thanks Jeff, give it a try and let me know. Join our community!
A doctor that says nuts is nuts! I am here for it
Pls explain the first part, i didn't understand, do i start the process just at the end of peeing while still peeing a bit, or do i start after i finished peeing? English is not my language.
Thank you!
Need your opinion...My urologist scheduled me for 8 one half hour sessions using electrical therapy....Is it worth it or can I do it myself by buying one of those devices on Amazon?.....From what I read it needs to be done everyday with 20 minute sessions ......Once a week sounds too little....Opinion anyone?
Thank you, it actually works.
Un poema en español:
"Vos que sos tan capaz,
Y que de todo te reís,
A que no sos tan capaz,
De ir a cagar sin hacer pis."
😂😂😂
You know what they say, if you shake it more than twice YOU PLAYING WITH IT 🤪
Thanks for the update 🎉😊
My pleasure :)
Thanks for the advice!
Glad it was helpful
Is this 555 method ok to use with my Prostatectomy ?
Yes, in most cases it should be fine. The goal after the prostatectomy is to make sure that you're fully emptying your bladder (this method will help you), while combining it with a kegels program and a hydration plan to regulate the fluids you put into your body. All three of these strategies will help you slow the leakage down
This seems like a lot lol …personally i do you the pelvic contractions but i just gently slide down the urethra with index on the urethra and thumb on top of the shaft and slide back and forth to get out excess. However im sure your method works and I’ll try it.
Thank you for the advice
Sometimes it happens to me after I’ve done the deed, but I’m commando most days
This is wild. I started watching the video thinking, “What technique could this guy offer that’s better than mine?”. Then I watched the rest and… we have the same technique! I was calling it ‘The Pump and Tug’, but ‘The 555 Method’ has a tad more class. 😂
hahah I think you're technique name would get me kicked off this platform 😂
How can this procedure for those who have had a prostate removal and tend dribble?
Hi there, so after a prostate removal it's a bit more complicated as your internal structures are still healing. The 555 method can help you to fully empty your bladder while you complete kegels exercises to strengthen up your pelvic floor muscles and also monitor your fluids at the same time. Here's my video teaching you how to kegel: ruclips.net/video/-D2KLel-jp8/видео.htmlsi=g2eM2ycH6xzcNpLc
So informative , the power of the internet 😊😅😂
Glad you enjoyed the video :)
